No Gordon, No Worries For Bulls

Chicago played a dominant brand of basketball without their second best scorer, choosing to use a combination of tough perimeter defense and inside scoring dominance. Ben Gordon sat out tonight game with a sore finger, but he will be back in the next game against the Seattle Sonics.

Tyson Chandler played his heart out tonight, dropping 23 points on 11-19 shooting, grabbing 14 rebounds and swatting 4 shots, he also had 2 steals.

LeBron James is still generating great all round number, he shot just 6-22 from the floor but finished the game with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals.

Strong First Quarter Give Bulls Victory

History shows that Ray Allen never really has good games against the Bulls, and it was shown again tonight, in 40 minutes of play, he put up just 4 shots for 7 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists.

A strong game from captain Kirk, he is shooting poorly from behind the arc this year in contrast ffrom last year, another dismal 3-13 shooting, but he finished the game with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.

Rashard Lewis carried the scoring load for the Sonics tonight netting 34 points on 11-26 shooting, nailing 4 three pointers and going 8-9 from the foul line.

Game Breakers

Kirk Hinrich: 7-20 FG 20 Pts, 7 Rebs, 10 Asts
Tyson Chandler: 6-15 FG 18 Pts, 12 Rebs, 2 Asts, 2 Stls, 2 Blks

Marvins a beast. Rashard Lewis tore it up too though, Captain Kirk had a bad shooting night. Good luck next game..

Thu Mar 02, 2006 9:57 pm

yeh, kirk is having a real bad time shooting the ball from distance this year, if he had made half his shots from there hed be averaging atleast 26, and yeh marvins scoring has dropped but now hes averaging a double double so far, so im happy bout that, plus currys averaging 19.7 off the bench ;)

Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:05 pm

19.7  Nice work..what's Marvin's ovrl rating?

Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:11 pm

low 80's 83 i think, not producing great numbers for a guy in his 80's but when you got scorers like hinrich, gordon and curry around and bobby simmons off the bench in his position hes doing great with the numbers hes putting up, i think it was a mistake signing simmons coz hes taking some good minutes away, i might go for a trade soon

An uneventfull start to the game with both teams combining for just 23 points in the first quarter, Phoenix heated up scoring 35 in the second and Chicago returned the favour scoring 37 in the third, even outscoring the Suns in the fourth wasnt enough, Phoenix victors by 2 points.

Steve Nash led the Suns in scoring and assists tonight, scoring 25 points and 8 dimes, he also added 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Hinrich Brilliance Denies Wolves Victory

A great high scoring game between two rivals. [I forgot to change the quarter to quarter scoring] Chicago scored over 30 in three of the four quarters and Minnesota scored over 30 in their first two.

Wally Szczerbiak played all but 1 minute in the game, and ended up with pretty solid numbers, going 12-22 from the floor he finished the game with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

No one can fault Kirk Hinrichs play of late, adding another double double to his career tally with 32 points and 13 assists. Converting 11-21, he nailed 9 of his 10 foul shots.

Another Away Win For Young Bulls

Another high scoring game culminating into another Bulls victory, Chicagos third quarter was the killer, holding the Hornets to just 18 and scoring 28.

P.J Brown played suprisingly well tonight, going into double digit shots made and making all of his foul shots, he finished the game with a team high 26 points and added 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

Eddy Curry could be the 6th man of the year the way he is playing so far, averaging over 20 points off the bench, tonight was no exception going 11-20 from the floor, ending the game with the game high 27 points, he also had 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

Game Breakers

Eddy Curry: 11-20 FG 27 Pts, 6 Rebs, 2 Stls

Speedy Claxton 12.9 4.5 5.8 1.6
Arvydas Macijauskas Yet To See Game Time
Kirk Snyder Scrapping Garbage Minutes

Bobby Simmons 6.6 2.4 1.4 1.0
Mike Sweetney Stuck In The Rotation
Kedrick Brown Rookies Pushed Back

Chicago have wasted no time in shipping off new recruit Bobby Simmons on Monday. The disgruntaled Chicago native was dealt with Mike Sweetney and Kedrick Brown to the New Orleans/ Oklahoma City Hornets for Speedy Claxton, Arvydas Macijauskas and Kirk Snyder.

The trade was mostly centered around Simmons and Claxton, so heres a look into those players numbers..
Simmons was averaging 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 blocks per game, playing every game off the bench. The Hornets have automatically slotted him in the starting line-up joining former Buck team mate Michael Redd. Mike Sweetney can bring a strong inside presence for the Hornets and will likely be backing up P.J Brown and Jamaal Magloire. Kedrick Brown was re-signed over the summer and looked forward to staying in Chicago, he will have to play just as hard in a big rotation and small forward with Simmons and Honeycutt.

With Speedy Claxton joining the Bulls, rumblings around the club have been that the next player to be traded could be Chris Duhon, although Bulls executives have denied such rumours it is evident that Duhon has been left out of the loop as far as playing time is concerned, he has played little to no time backing up Hinrich and now with the addition of another quality guard could see the evident departer of Duhon if not this season then at the end of the year when his conract expires. Claxton was averaging a healthy 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists as a starter. Macijauskas will join Chris Taft on the injured reserve, nothing new for the Lithuanian who has not seen game time yet this season. Snyder will slide down the Rotation at Chicago or could be the back up for Gordon, Basden has not showed much promise so far, this trade could spark him into action.

Sat Mar 04, 2006 7:34 pm

pretty nice trade, but i offer you to use macijauskas as a shooter....

Sat Mar 04, 2006 7:38 pm

yeh, i gotta try and fit him in the 12 first ;) probly replace him with basden or something
