Hey all,

Sorry for the lack of updates lately...was sick last week and this week was busy trying to add a fake ESPN Scoreboard page to show all NBA Live game boxscores for the season. I think it's working now...

http://home.ripway.com/2005-6/338795/scoreboard.php

I started the season so if you look up Oct 29, 2005, you'll see the scores and links to boxscores for all the games that day. Haven't uploaded any other dates yet and haven't posted the recap for my own Bulls season opener yet, but that'll be coming up in a day or so.

Remember, for some reason, this web site only looks right on IE...it's pretty hosed up in Firefox...don't know why and don't have the time to fix it.

Hope you like the new fake ESPN Scoreboard... tried to make it look as close as possible to the NBA Scoreboard on the real ESPN.com. I coulda done better but, man, who's got the time?!?

Oh yeah...one more player announcement. Sorry...no fake SportsCenter announcement for it...no time...

ESPNews Wire:

Sleiman Ride

The Sacramento Kings announced today the signing of rookie free agent Khalid Sleiman, a 6' 1" guard from UAE.

Sleiman possesses quickness to make teammate Mike Bibby nod his head in approval. He is a solid shooter and above average in most attributes, although not outstanding in any particular area. He's better than most guards his size on the offensive glass but needs improvement on the defensive boards. Sleiman will also need to work on his conditioning, which appears to be his biggest area of deficiency.

Head coach Rick Adelman immediately announced that Sleiman will start for the Kings, a shock considering first-round pick Francisco Garcia was slotted as the starting 2.

"We want Francisco to improve his defense first," said Adelman. "Once he gets that to Sleiman's level, then maybe we'll put Francisco in the starting lineup."

The starters now are Mike Bibby, Khalid Sleiman, Peja Stojakovic, Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Brad Miller.

The scoreboard is a great idea, I like it.
Congrats to NRNB/Sac-1. What about Bonzi Wells??

Thanks for the ESPN introduction, i loved it espically the fist Paragraph and i'm glad to be a starter. THanks again.

Good question....he is higher rated than NRNB/Sac-1...and he's got the experience

Well, we'll pretend Adelman likes youth and will give Khalid a chance to prove himself. If Khalid is unimpressive, Bonzi will get the start...until Francisco is ready.

Same goes in Philly...if Iggy is slow off the block, Sensation will get the start.

Thanks, guys. Now if you want to go back and see how you guys did in a certain game, you can.

The reloaded Bulls took to the floor for the 2005-06 season opener against the reloaded Bucks. For a little while, the Bucks looked like the more improved team.

Milwaukee led by three as the new Bulls adjusted to each other, but that didn't take too long. The Bulls stampeded past the Bucks 121-101 at the United Center to open the new season.

"We're getting used to one another," said Bulls forward LeBron James.

Every Bull scored except for rookie Kennedy Winston. Six Bulls were in double figures, including Tyson Chandler, who received a standing ovation when he entered the game.

"This is home," said Chandler, who had 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. "I'm glad to be back."

Michael Redd led all scorers with 33 points and TJ Ford added 24, but #1 pick Andrew Bogut was held to only 13 points and Most Improved Player Bobby Simmons needs more improving after a dismal 8-point effort.

The new-look Bulls limited Milwaukee to only 17 points in the key third quarter. Dwyane Wade finished with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, while James and Amare Stoudemire each racked 22 points.

Hey, good to see another season underway!

That ESPN scoreboard looks just great to me, you must have something that moves the box scores to the website because if you copy and type all the figures yourself it will take you forever huh!?

thanks, cwebbiverson, NRNB, sensation...appreciate the support.

yeah, i used some code to take the .txt files and automatically create the pages.

y'know, i've played a few more games since this season opener and acquired dwight howard along the way... and i've won easily in each of the games i've played. that's understandable, considering the dream team i'm playing with (as sensation nicknamed it). i COULD make the sliders harder, but that wouldn't be realistic b/c this team in real life would smoke all the other NBA teams and go 82-0. it's pretty obvious this team will win the title this year...there's no drama to this one.

SOOO....i'm thinking of dumping this dynasty and starting a new bulls dynasty that would go like this:

- keep the bulls intact, except trade hinrich for wade b/c that's what SHOULD have happened in real-life back in 2003 (the bulls should never have let miami get wade ahead of them...but that's another story).
- no other trades for the bulls.
- keep all you NLSCers on your respective teams.
- i'd keep the fake ESPN web site.

i think that would be more competitive. what do you all think?

Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:20 am

i think its a good idea

Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:27 am

I like it, it's a good idea. I think you should do it.
I wouldn't trade Hinrich for Wade straight up though, it's too unrealistic.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:31 am

no, it definitely won't be a straight-up trade... the cpu wouldn't allow it anyway b/c their ratings aren't balanced (wade is like an 89 or something and hinrich is i think a 77)...

Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:48 am

Ya i like the idea because this just seems too unrealistic and i'll be looking forward to a new one if you do it!

Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:51 am

the people have spoken!

i'll start working on the rosters...and i'll probably start a new thread in this forum.

p.s. NRNB - what does "NRNB" stand for?

Tue Nov 08, 2005 7:13 am

Oh its just a nickname "No Rim No Board" :D .
