A reliable source is known to be aware of the club's plans to move Spanish guard Jose Calderon. The phones have been ringing as of late and it seems that New Jersey, Chicago and Milwaukee are likely destinations. Calderon, who has spent his entire NBA career in Toronto, is currently the club's all-time assist leader, surpassing Alvin Williams a year and a half ago.

Good luck unloading Calderon. Will be difficult if he's as bad at D in 2K10 as he is in real life.

5-8 :: Remember 2000 | Hinrich is the newest Raptor

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to send veteran guard Jose Calderon and offseason free agent pickup Mike Miller for Chicago Bulls' guard Kirk Hinrich on Sunday. Calderon, the Raptors all-time assist leader, has been a member of the club since 2005. Calderon was former GM Rob Babcock's best move, signed in the summer of 2005. During the 2007-08 season, Calderon was the second most consistent player for the Raptors next to Chris Bosh, averaging over 8 assists and leading the league in assist/turnover ratio. He also set a record for free throw percentage in 2008-09 at .981, not long after he set the second-longest streak in NBA history for consecutive free throws made (87). Calderon leaves the club leading in assists at 2441.

The Bulls have an All-Star point guard in Derrick Rose(notes) and are looking for more after back-to-back 41-win seasons that ended with first-round playoff losses. They fired coach Vinny Del Negro and replaced him with longtime NBA assistant Tom Thibodeau, the mastermind behind a dominant defense that helped Boston reach the NBA finals two of the past three years.

The longest tenured active Bulls player, Hinrich has averaged 13.4 points in seven seasons and was John Paxson’s first draft pick as general manager in 2003. On February 20, 2010 in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Hinrich became the Bulls' all-time leader in three point field goals, surpassing Ben Gordon's record of 770.

When Ed Davis was drafted, the American media was asking him questions about the tax structure, receipts etc in Canada, how he needs to get a CPA, and not much in playing for Toronto. Morons like that make it hard for Toronto to attract players.

BOSH CELEBRATES A ROAD WIN AGAINST THE CELTICS

Image

I have a feeling that this 2011 is going to be a very strange and confusing summer. Bosh picked up his player option last offseason and alongside Wade and James, will join the 2011 free agent bonanza, probably the biggest of the decade. With all these free agents free agenting around, things are going to get wacky. We'll hear so many crazy rumors and scenarios that even the most outlandish will seem reasonable. "Oh, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all agreed to take one-year deals to play together and win a title? Sure, why not!" It's going to be crazy. And because of that, people are going to be doing crazy things.

How do I know this to be true? It's already started to happen, because Bosh cut off his dreadlocks (see picture above). Cutting off your "trademark" hair when you're hoping to sell yourself to franchises as a marketable superstar is kind of strange. Pulling a Benjamin Button and choosing to look like the 19-year-old version of yourself is probably weirder. Or maybe Bosh's surprisingly small head being revealed once again after years of cloaking takes the weird cake. I'm not sure yet.

Could this be the sign of a new beginning? A new franchise? Is Bosh going to play for one of the Texas teams and play for hometown? Here is how Bosh looked like when he was donning the dreadlocks, and being given names as "mophead, rastafarian ostrich, or the predator".

    Image
BOSH LIKED TO MOP THE FLOOR OF THE AIR CANADA CENTER AFTER THE GAME DURING HIS DREADLOCKS DAYS

Of course, because he's a free agent next offseason, Bosh was asked about his relationship with the other crown jewels of this summer's class. Breaking with his fellow stars, Bosh denied that the big-timers had been talking about their plans. From the Associated Press:

Bosh says he hasn't talked with other players yet about the plans for July 1, saying those discussions are only between his "friends and family" and that most of the principal parties involved in free agency are "keeping their secrets close."

He and Wade share the same agent, Chicago-based Henry Thomas, but added that he has not spoken to James about the looming process.

I must be mistaken with them statements that you make, because I was under the impression that Bosh, Wade and James were all best friends forever. I thought that was the whole point of why they were going to be talking this whole thing through. Seems like a convenient out to me. You know what they say — never trust a man who grows dreadlocks for years then cuts them off during the most important summer of his career. It's not the best saying, but I think it applies here.

The Bucks still have Jennings right?

Losing CB4 would defintely suck for you, though less then the real Raps, who don't have Randolph or McGee.

Some impressive wins also, love that you beat them Lakers.
