Im not sure. I keep hearing about a "glitch" that makes you wait until you next season. I hope I don't run into it. I already ran into a glitch that had the 66er's cutting me, then resigning me the next day. This was after my 30pt, 6 ast and 4 reb game. My player is also the top rated player on my team (69 ovr). Im hoping I will be in the league soon.... it would be a bit boring to have to play a whole season in the NBDL.... especially putting up those kind of stats.

Nice scoring streak. I hope the game does not fool you and gives you a place on a NBA roster, just how you've earned. Then you gonna play against the Pauls and D-Wills ... I don't see you scoring that much then ;)

Jordan in attendance, Alexander ties NBDL Single Game Scoring Record / Nets 48 in 66er Win

Post Game Interview

Reporter : You almost couldn't miss out there tonight. What has been going on and what have you been doing to catch fire as of late?

Alexander : Im just coming out here trying to help the team win. The opponent's the last couple of nights have been giving me open shots and I have been able to knock them down.

Reporter : You tie a NBDL record tonight with 48 points, and you are the only player in NBDL history to go for 40+ points 2 nights in a row. Is the NBA taking note on this or have you not heard anything as of yet?

Alexander : I haven't heard anything yet and I try not to think about it. When it happens it happens.

Reporter : Im not sure if you noticed or not but Micheal Jordan was in attendance tonight scouting your game. When I talked with him he said that he thought you showed "A good level of potential". How does that make you feel?

Alexander : Jordan is a legend and for him to see potential in me feels really good.

Reporter : Any thought on maybe playing for the Bobcats in the future?

Alexander : Lets take it easy.... just cause he was here doesn't mean anything. Im glad to play for the 66ers right now, and any kind of NBA talk will only turn my focus away from helping this team win.

I am averaging an A+ through 8 games so far. EVen if im not netting 40+, I gain a good team-mate rating from dishing the ball, boxing out and holding my opponent in points. Im not a Rockets fan.... but I would be more than happy to play for any NBA team right now.

Its good I get to keep adding 2000 skill points after each game..... I will need them when I come up against Paul. My defense isn't great right now... I can hold a NBDL player to single digits... but im sure Paul and DWill will burn me.

I don't own 2K10 yet, but 2000 skill points sure does sound like a good ton. :P I'm actually liking Altair's attitude now too, the fact that he's playing for him team and not for personal glory right now is a big plus, but I bet he's just holding back his anticipation from the media.

Frank Manning's Office (Altair's Agent)

Frank : Glad you could come in today Alex... I got some big news!

Aexander : Oh yeah? What is it?

Frank : I have a 2 year contract here for you to play Pro Ball this year for $750,000 dollars a year!!

Alexander : What!! With who? Im going to the NBA!!!

Frank : Well... not exactly.

Alexander : What do you mean?

Frank : It with Madrid....

Alexander : Madrid? You mean euro ball?

Frank : Yeah. The only offer from the NBA was small dollar, I turned it down.

Alexander : What the fuck? Im not going to Spain? And what the hell do you mean "the only NBA offer"?

Frank : Look, Alex baby.... the Bobcat's weren't going to pay you what Madrid is offering. This was the better option....

Alexander : I don't care about the pay... Im not going to Europe. Just call the Bobcat's back up and tell them I'll take whatever offer they give me.

Frank : Well.... I wish I could... but it's a little late for that...

Alexander : Huh? Late? What do you mean?

Frank : They signed someone else..... but look at the bigger picture Alex, this is a business and I got you more money!

Alexander : What the fuck don't you understand! I want to play in the NBA.... I don't give a fuck about what kind of money I make.

Frank : I don't like your tone Alex... after all i've done for you...

Alexander : You said no to an offer from an NBA team!!! What the fuck have you done for me?

Frank : I got you this great offer sitting here on the table just waiting to be signed. So the question is, are you in the game or are you out?

Alexander : Fuck you Frank... and Fuck your dollar bill agency. Im outta here....

Frank : You'll regret this Alex.... this may be the only shot you have at ever making it

Alexander : I don't need you man.... I can make it on my own.

Don't worry... some twist's and turn's are right around the corner, and MJ will be back with a decent sized role in later chapters, as well as other prior NBA talent's that can not yet be named.

Chapter 4
“I’ll Make it on My Own”

December 2009
After the fallout with Frank Manning, Altair went on a terror during the next 10 NBDL games. He could not be stopped and was being scouted by several NBA teams. A new agent appeared in the mix named Mike Steal. At the time Mike steal represented NBA star’s such as Brandon Jennings, Chris Duhon, Trevor Ariza, and Monte Ellis. Alexander found more trust in Steal, and their relationship was very open and honest.

January 2010
During a 2 game set vs Reno, Alexander would average 46 points and the development of a NBA contract would be waiting in the wings. Mike Steal had re-opened up talks with Rod Higgins and Michael Jordan of the Charlotte Bobcats. A ten day contract had been offered to Alexander but he would have to wait until March 1st to sign. This would give the Bobcats extra cash under the luxury tax and it was a smart business move for both sides, as the Bobcats would have a tax write off, and Alexander would get paid a little more if he made it passed the 10 day contract.

Unfortunately, in the 3rd QTR of a game vs Reno, Alexander would come down awkward on his left ankle. At the time, it did not look to serious, and he left the game walking under his own power. After an X-ray and MRI, the injury was much more serious than expected. Alexander would have a Posterior Malleolus Fracture, and surgery was needed. The surgery kept Alexander out of play for the rest of the season and the 66er’s put him on the IR. This would also take the contract from the Bobcat’s off the table.

phpBB [video]

Spring 2010
Although the NBA during the 09-10 season would not be possible for Alexander, he kept his head up. He knew that he was still going to be on the 66er’s team for the upcoming 10-11 season, and he knew that several NBA teams would still have an interest in him. With the help of a personal trainer brought to him by Mike Steal, Alexander has made an incredible recovery to this point.

June 2010
Summer Camp begins in just 3 weeks, and Alexander has taken a Vacation to Portland Oregon. With the money he made during his time with the 66er’s Alexander was finally able to pay the child support debt he owed to his child’s mother. He was able to see his son Marcus for an entire weekend. Although Alexander does not own a house of his own in Portland, his good friend Brandon Roy let him and his son stay in the guest house for the weekend. It was the first time in years that Alexander had time to contact with his son, and he is hoping it won’t be the last.

It is now June 14th, the day of the NBA draft. Alexander and Roy are out at a sports restaurant enjoying their time off from basketball. The NBA draft plays over 2 smaller TV’s, but Alexander and Roy are watching the Seattle Mariner’s vs New York Yankee’s on the big screen.

___________________________________________________________________________

Roy : Man... I remember watching Griffey back in the day playing in the Kingdom. The guy was ridiculous.

Alexander : Yeah.... I saw him in Yankee Stadium a couple of time’s, he was good.

Roy : Fucking Yankee’s man.... I can’t stand them. I hope we win tonight.

Alexander : Can’t you see the score? (laughs) It doesn’t look like your Mariner’s have a chance.

It was the bottom of the 6th, 5-1 Yankees.

Roy : Just wait man, Ichiro or Griffey will come through with a couple base knocks and will be right back in it.

Alexander : I don’t think so man. I mean, the Yank’s got Granderson and A-Rod coming up next inning.... and with Sabathia pitching lights out, Its a done deal my friend.

Roy : Yeah, yeah.... maybe the M’s get the Yank’s tomorrow night. You still going up there to Safeco with me right?

Alexander : He yeah.... I got my Yankee hat and Jersey already laid out!

Roy : Screw you and your Yankee Dynasty man....

Alexander : (Laughing) Yeah.... I got my Lebron number #8 Knicks jersey ready to go for the next big New York Dynasty.

Roy : Can you believe that shit! Knicks are offering him 5 Years, 135 Million with more money for being an All-Star, MVP, NBA 1st Team, making it the Final’s, and playing on the USA team. That guy is going to be paid.

Alexander : Doesn’t surprise me. I hear T-Mac is leaving Houston, Boozer is playing hard ball with the Jazz again, and Bosh’s agent says they have a deal lined up, but he hasn’t said with who. Any chance Portland’s doing anything?

Roy : Naw man, Aldridge and me just re-signed last year, so I doubt anything major happens this year.

Waitress : Excuse me.... but can I get an autograph

Roy : Sure thing, you have a pen?

Waitress : I do... but im sorry, I was talking to Mr. Alexander.

Alexander : (Laughs), I think you have me confused with someone else sweetheart, I don’t play in the NBA.

Waitress : Oh, im sorry. I just thought you were the one they have been showing on TV. You guys look alike.

Alexander and Roy both turn around. Alexander’s highlights from his time with the 66er’s play on the TV. At the bottom of the screen, it says “38th Pick BKS PG Alexander”.

Roy : Wow... your a net.. or should I say Saint?

Alexander : Im going to Jersey.... I mean Brooklyn.

Roy : You agent hasn’t called you?

Alexander : I left my phone at your crib? Is this real? What do I do?

Roy : (Laughs) You pay for this damn bill and hurry up and get to my house to check your message’s!

Alexander doesn’t even pay the bill, he bolts out the front door and hop’s in his car. Roy sits and laughs as he breaks out his credit card to pay the bill.

Brooklyn Saints Back Story

In December of 2009, Nets majority owner Bruce Ratner as well as minority owner Jay-Z struck a deal that would move the under-achieving team from New Jersey to Brooklyn. Jay-Z would pay the majority of the costs for the new Arena, the rest was paid by tax payers. The new arena was named "The Rockafella Center" and would be built in downtown Brooklyn. The new arena is currently being built at a rapid pace, and will be complete and ready to host games by the start of the 2010-2011 Season.

Next on the Schedule for "The Altair Alexander Story"
Before the beginning of the 2010-2011 Season, I will run down all major trades and FA signings that have taken place.

1020 Sports Radio New York

Cliff : How will the new "Brooklyn Saint's" do this year?

Mike : Well... there not really new... and they are ranked 22nd in the Power Rankings. I don't see them being better than last year, and I actually see them being worse.

Cliff : Do you think their attendance will be higher or lower than last year? Everyone know's they couldn't sell a ticket last year in Jersey. Has that changed do you think?

Mike : I think it will for the sort term, but in order to keep people in the seats you will need to win. This was not a good off-season for them. They traded Harris in order to open up cap room to sign Wade or Bosh, and both are now in Miami. I like Williams potential at the SG spot, but I don't see enough play makers on this team to make to much of a difference.

Cliff : I agree. I think they were really banking this move to Brooklyn on a big name star player, but when they didn't get one it was a really blow to the organization and I believe it will be a really down year financially for this team.

Mike : I think financially they will sell merchandise well, but everyone knows if you can't put people in the seats your going to lose money.

Cliff : Now... you've been watching their pre-season so far. What do you see as hope for this team... or is it hopeless and they need to make a move sometime this season?

Mike : I think a little of both. I like what I see in Williams. Lopez is looking good and their rookie PG Alexander has been playing well. I think that during the season we will most likely see one of those players move and possibly get another young player with a draft pick back in return.

Cliff : Ok... Over under 25 wins this season?

Mike : Im going to say a close under. I think they win maybe 22 games.

Cliff : I went under also, but I went with right around 18 games.

Mike : I don't think New York fans will be to concerned about the Saint's though, I mean, Lebron and company is right across the way and that team is looking like a playoff team, and possibly a 50+ win team.

Cliff : There is no doubt about who is the King of New York right now. Lebron and company are ranked #7 in the Power Rankings. Not only will they be fun to watch, but it will be fun to finally watch the Knicks win again.

Brooklyn @ Minnesota

1st Game for the Regular Season / Click "You Tube" in bottom Right Corner for Larger Picture

phpBB [video]

Minnesota Post

The TimberWolves opened their season tonight against the Brooklyn Saints. Minnesota started out strong, hitting shots and getting the ball to Al Jefferson. They over-matched the Saints inside and that opened up the long range jumpers. The T-Wolves shot 64% from the field tonight while the Saint's shot 52%. Jefferson had a team high 18 points and 9 rebounds, and said after the game, "This was a good way to start the season and we need to keep this momentum going forward". Brewer, Flynn and Love were all in double figures, and ex-Net/Saint Harris dished out a game high 12 assists.

On the other end, going back to last year when they were the Nets, the Saint's have lost 17 straight games, only 1 game away from matching their 18 game record that began the season last year. PG Alexander led all Saints with 21 points and 8 assists. Williams and Lopez both finished in double figures. Co-Owner Sean Carter (Jay-Z) was in attendance and said this after the game, "Well.... we still have work to do but I liked what I saw tonight from Williams and Alexander. We can only move up from here."

The T-Wolves will have a day off before heading to Milwaukee, while the Saint's will travel back to Brooklyn for their home opener against Orlando.

Oh yeah, nice job being in NYC now. You know the media in New York is very hard, don't you? ;)
The Rockafella Center :D ROC, baby. I really hope Altair can bring them back to the Playoffs. But I guess he will be only backup to Devin Harris. Maybe he should start to get a shot and play SG as there is only Courtney Lee.
Nice story!

Altair is starting. Harris is now with the T-Wolves. The Nets traded him to open up cap room so they could try and sign a big name FA (James / Wade / Bosh). James signed with the Knicks, Wade re-signed with the Heat and Bosh decided to go down to Miami to join Wade. That left the Nets / Saints in the dust. I posted all the NBA 2010-2011 staring line-up above. Some major changes were made. T-Mac is a Sun, James and Ellis are holding down MSG, Boozer is a piston.... ect, ect.

I missed a couple of updates, but it was easy to catch up. Loving the dialog, Altair really has had a swing around with his attitude, really liking him as a character now, and this story is going to take off as well. A lot of changes such as Bosh to Miami made me fear for every other teams lives. :P

I also liked the Nets transfer to Brooklyn with a new name, Saints, it fits.

I hope Altair does well, and really steps up to become the sole reason why tickets are sold.

T-Mac is a Sun, James and Ellis are holding down MSG, Boozer is a piston.... ect, ect.

Ahh okay, I did not take a closer look at the roster as I thought they would be quite the same. Nice moves though. James, Bosh and Boozer signing with other teams.

1020 Sports Radio New York

Cliff : On the phone right now we have "The King" himself, Lebron James.... how are you doing Lebron

Lebron : Im good man, how are you all doing?

Cliff : Were all good. Now you start the season off 1-0, you get your first win as a Knick. How does it feel and how is it different for you being in a different jersey for the first time?

Lebron : It felt good. We have an excellent team here and the fans are un-believable. They are truly 2nd to none.

Cliff : Are you guys the best in the East or are you guys looking up at Boston and the super duo in Miami?

Lebron : I think were the team to beat. I really don't see to many teams in the league that can match up with us on either sides of the court. I think those other teams are decent, but as well as we have been clicking I think were going to be at the top of the conference this year.

Cliff : You flirted with going to a couple other places during the off-season. We know your good friends with Jay-Z... why the Knicks and why not the Saint's?

Lebron : Well, I think the team base here for the Knicks is better and really, it was my only choice, regardless of what the media said.

Cliff : How intense do you think it's going to be when the Knicks square off against the Brooklyn Saints for the first time?

Lebron : I don't think it will be intense at all. I think most true New Yorker's are Knicks fans, and I think it will be a one sided game game because we have a better, more experienced team.

Cliff : Well im not going to disagree with you there. It seems like the entire city of New York is behind you and the Knicks and we wish you and the team luck throughout the season.

Lebron : Ok, thanks Cilff, take care.

FS - BKY

Reporter : Hard fought game tonight Alexander. What did the coach say at half that got you guys to cut the lead and eventually get your first win of the season.

Alexander : He just told us to keep playing hard and eventually are shots would start falling. This was our home opener tonight and its the first time these Brooklyn fans have gotten to see a team in there own back yard. We knew it was going to be a hard game, but even when we were down by 14, we were not going to quit on each other and these fans.

Reporter : You record your first double double of the season and your off to a great start in your rookie your. What has helped you step up to the speed of the NBA?

Alexander : My team-mates. When your team is playing well and getting you open shots it's easy to look good. We have all heard the talk about us finishing last in the East this year and we kind of have a chip on our shoulder and want to prove people wrong.

Reporter : How far do you see this team going this year?

Alexander : We take everything one game at a time, but with the young talent this team has I think we can compete with any team out there.

Reporter : I don't know whether you heard what Lebron James said about the new New York rivalry, but he said he didn't think there was one and that the Knicks are far above the Saint's level. What do you think about that?

Alexander : What ever the Knicks players think or whatever the proclaimed "King" thinks doesn't really matter to us. Our focus is winning games. When we play them, winning will continue to be our focus.
