Thanks bro. At first, I thought in doing like a Sit story with my character, but I figured it wouldn't even reach Sit's ankles. So I'm focusing in the game previews and recaps, then doing the blog.homicide1550 wrote:haven't been around this section for awhile and saw that you have a new association.. will try to catch up.. good luck with this.. Trying to change my custom title: "This one will last, believe me" or "It won't finish early".

That's one of my conditions... I just can't play a 29 or 58-game season. I just don't feel it realistic
I was supposed to post a preview today but I have an important test tomorrow. So, association paused for one day.

Wizards to rest Arenas for game at Toronto
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play |
Watch HighlightsIn the 2008-09 season the Washington Wizards only won 19 games, and played most of the season without star Gilbert Arenas. So if you see this team, and its fans pretending like last season didn’t happen, I think we can all understand the reason why. While it seems a little surreal to watch a 19 win team goes out and in the offseason and trade for the final missing pieces, that may be just what the Wizards did. Arenas is reportedly back to full strength and has no ill effects after the knee surgery that keep him sidelined a year ago. Complimentary stars Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler are still in the mix and coming off excellent seasons. Instead of a draft pick the team added marksmen Mike Miller and Randy Foye via the trade market. They also added wily veteran center Fabricio Oberto via free agency. The Wizards have an excellent starting five and one of the deepest benches in the NBA.
Wizard General Manager Ernie Grunfeld continues to make the argument that this is not a true 19 win team. He thinks that the loss of Arenas derailed their 2008-09 season and now that he is back, with the pieces they added they can make a serious run at the playoffs. Assistant coach Thierry Tirieux will give Arenas some rest today as the lineup will feature Foye as point guard and Andray Blatche starting at center.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors really face an uphill battle getting and keeping their talent. There are so many excuses for this team, Toronto is cold, the money is funny looking, and it is in a foreign country. However the fact that this team just isn’t that good should always factor into the discussion. The truth here is Toronto is a great city, a multi cultural city where half of the residents hail from a country other than Canada. While they face a battle to get talent, if they won more often it wouldn’t be an issue.
Of course the discussion is all about the black cloud hanging over this team. Franchise player Chris Bosh can opt out of his deal after this season, and it seems likely that he will play his ball elsewhere. So the Raptors have a big decision to make, should they try to resign Bosh and failing that trade him away, or try to resign him and keep him with the risk they could end up with nothing? That question is likely to define the Raptors season, even though the addition of Hedo Turkoglu fixes a lot of the problems on this team, they still have the cloud hanging over them. The Raptors must find one guy in Bosh, Turkoglu or Andrea Bargnani to be their full time center and they could be an eight seed playoff team. Today Bargnani will take a rest and Rasho Nesterovic will start at center.

Arenas-less Wizards fly past Raptors
(PLAYED GAME)
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play |
Watch HighlightsCaron Butler had his second outstanding game this week. This time, his team didn't look like past games, maybe because Gilbert Arenas didn't play. That didn't stop Butler as he had 21 points, 6 rebounds and six assists and the Washington Wizards beat the Toronto Raptors 104-88 on Sunday night. "He's just playing great basketball,'' Wizards coach Flip Saunders said. "Hopefully the rest of us will follow.'' Butler scored 23 points against Dallas on Friday, Wizards winning 102-87. "We had a great third quarter,'' said Butler. "I thought we moved the ball really well, also my teammates got open shots and knocked them down and we took care of the ball.''
Fabricio Oberto and Antawn Jamison added 18 points each and Randy Foye 15 for the Wizards, who stay unbeaten, with a 3-0 record. Andray Blatche had 14 points to go with 10 rebounds, and Mike Miller 8. Jarrett Jack scored 21 points from the bench to pace the Raptors, who played without forward Hedo Turkoglu (injured in Toronto's game against Minnesota) and Andrea Bargnani (rested by coach Jay Triano), and dropped to 2-2 after starting the preseason 2-0. Chris Bosh had a 15-15 night, Jose Calderon 14 and 11 assists, and DeMar DeRozan another 13 points. Toronto squandered a 6-point halftime lead and fell behind early in the third quarter, with the Wizards going on a game-clinching 24-11 third quarter to win their first game of a three-week, eight-game road trip, including the season first two games. "It's always good to get a win out on the road,'' Saunders said. "So we'll get out there and see if we can continue to improve ourselves.''
The Wizards shot 47-of-79 from the field (59 percent), while Toronto hit 36-of-83 (43 percent), but the Raptors were 8-of-22 on 3-pointers (36 percent) to Washington's 2-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc (both by Butler). "I am coming away from this one with nothing but positives,'' Raptors coach Triano said. "We battled one of the best teams in the league with their latest acquisitions. To beat a team like this we still have to grow as a team.'' Washington opened the second half with a 17-4 spurt, including ten straight points, that brought them 5 points up with 7:23 left in the third. "The last couple of games we've been talking about how we start the second half,'' Bosh said. "We just wanted to go out and make a run but they did it first. We know basketball is a game of runs and we couldn't post one.'' 74 of the Wizards' 102 points were in the paint.
"We had a tough time in the fourth quarter,'' DeRozan said. "We couldn't hang in there in the third quarter, they played great defense and we couldn't win.'' The Wizards took the lead at the beginning of the third when Javaris Crittenton hit two foul shots. The teams were tied again at 60 with 6:21 left in the third, but, as already said, Washington's 17-4 run, capped by Butler's 3 that had the Wizards fans on its feet, put Saunders' team ahead 77-64. "Our intensity level just didn't stay constant,'' Bosh added. "Playing a great team like Washington, we've got to stay with a consistent effort.'' Jamison complemented his 18 points with 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block shooting 9-of-12 from the field, earning POTG honors.

Yes, I'm playing the preseason games in 2K9 just to save time... the season itself will be in 2K10 (getting it today!)

Sweet layout once again. Nice game by Oberto and Blatche. You can only hope that they will contribute in this season because your frontcourt is still not the deepest. Oberto should be your man anyway

Wizards try to stay unbeaten when they face Detroit tonight
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play |
Watch HighlightsWizards forward Antawn Jamison called last season's 19-win effort in Washington the most difficult of his 11-year career. Injuries to star guard Gilbert Arenas and center Brendan Haywood crippled Washington last year and the paltry win total tied a franchise record for fewest wins in an 82-game season. Bad luck followed the Wizards to the offseason and the lottery where the team had a 17.6 percent chance to get the No. 1 overall pick, but managed to fall out all the way to No. 5, the lowest possible pick for them. Despite the potholes, new coach Flip Saunders, one of the most underrated mentors in the league, will have little trouble improving on the 19 wins if Arenas and Haywood are back on the floor in 2009-10.
In fact, those two players teamed with Caron Butler and Jamison, along with newcomers Randy Foye and Mike Miller likely will turn the Wizards from a lottery team to the most improved club in the league with a solid shot at the postseason. The one fly in the ointment could be Arenas. His well-documented knee problems have now become chronic and he has played in just 15 games during the past two seasons following three operations on his left knee over an 18-month period. "I just want to go out there and play. All you guys focused on was my words. Now I'd rather you just focus on my basketball," said Arenas. DeShawn Stevenson and Fabricio Oberto will start today for Washington.
Pistons president Joe Dumars is coming off a disastrous year in which he jettisoned underrated coach Flip Saunders for the untested and unproven Michael Curry and compounded that mistake with the ill-conceived Chauncey Billups-Allen Iverson trade. Gone was Detroit's legendary balance, defensive prowess and chemistry, not to mention the run of six straight trips to the Eastern Conference finals. Detroit slipped to the eighth seed in the East and failed to advance to at least the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2001-02. Needless to say, this is a big year for Dumars. He admitted his mistake with Curry and changed gears, hiring Larry Brown disciple John Kuester as the team's head coach.
Meanwhile, trading for the expiring contract of Iverson did give Dumars plenty of cap space and the team was able to steal Chicago sharp-shooter Ben Gordon and Milwaukee forward Charlie Villanueva from division rivals. "Detroit definitely has a great backcourt with Richard Hamilton and Gordon and those guys are real tough to guard especially coming off of those down screens," Atlanta swingman Maurice Evans said after facing the Pistons in the preseason. "With those guys you really have to get on them early and try to contest their shots." Hamilton said of adding Gordon, "It's a blessing, adding him to our team. It takes a load off me with scoring and things like that." Whether that's enough to make Detroit a serious contender in the East again is up for debate, but the Pistons do look like they are headed back in the right direction. Coach Kuester will start Ben Wallace and Jason Maxiell against the Wizards, replacing Chris Wilcox and Charlie Villanueva, respectively, from the match against Atlanta. Ben Gordon will continue playing from the bench.
