Tenth game against Washington Wizards. An easy win after getting blown out from Cleveland. Everybody already felt that this is the last game on the road and we all get back home now. Wizards with two of their top players in minor injuries couldn’t do nothing to stop Nuggets.
”This was a good win and also I was able to let some of my bench players in, now I know who is doing better then others.” said Coach Karl after a win.
Carmelo scored 35 points and he didn’t even play the last quarter. He added 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Boozer put up a great game as he scored 10 points and took 13 rebounds. Lithuanian guys scored 37 points together and Barbosa had a better game again. 8 points and 10 assists. Dee Brown scored his team high 16 points and also gave 3 assists.
“Well this was that kind of an evening and I hope we don’t have to memorize this again.” Said Gilbert Arenas

I like this dynasty, i see you invested your money in 3 assistants with an a in all 3 abilities, a great trainer and an assistant head coach with at least a c development grade. I love dynastys where someone tells us about their staff and posts the grades of each staff member, by the way it seems like you got a lot of money from your owner, did you get over $3million before you started this? Just wondering.

Fri Oct 31, 2008 6:24 pm

I guess at the beginning I got something a bit over 2 M but when one year I won the league then I got some more money now it is like this. :)

Sat Nov 01, 2008 1:30 am

Clutch, yeah the Cavs game was pretty cool, totally loved it :) And about Caron Butler part, his one of my favorite players in real life and I don't like it either he is coming off the bench put I have nothing to do to turn something up ( btw in 07 he totally suck )

Sat Nov 01, 2008 2:18 am

catching up also
been reading along the way and this is one of the most updated dynasties around here.
Solid recaps, although they could be a bit longer ;) (i like reading ), but this is quite a decent dynasty you've got :D keep it up (Y)

Eleventh game against Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver got their third loss of the season. It was all about strong forth quarter that made the game and Minnesota took it 106: 101. They played us over in every part of the game. Mostly in rebounding totals, Jefferson and Smith took 27 rebounds together 13 of what was offensive ones. Only good thing is that Hart is back and some more days and he is again fit and well. Right now he scored 9 points on 5 of 17 attempts from the floor. Barbosa is seemed to be in a good rhythm right now as he scored 13 points and gave 10 assists also made 2 steals and took 2 rebounds. Minnesota played well their starting five made a good game and they had 5 guys scoring 10 plus points.

Twelfth game against Minnesota Timberwolves. Having a difficulties in the first quarter Minnesota caught a second win in a row against Nuggets. If last game was a disaster at the rebounding part then now it was much better as we got only 4 rebounds less than Timberwolves. Carmelo Anthony with game high 26 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist wasn’t able to help Denver get the win. Horace Hart and Sarunas Jasikevicus had a good game and they scored together 30 points. Main reason of loss was turnovers. We made 19 turnovers meanwhile Timberwolves made 11. Another good game by Al Jefferson and Craig Smith as they caught together 30 rebounds and scored 38 points.

back to back loss, thats ouch! i think ur problem is with boozer, he is not used to playing as a 4th option

Sun Nov 02, 2008 7:59 am

it was though :) but what you mean as 4th option??

Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:55 am

bcoz boozer is an all-star/olympian, but he's just ur 4th option in scoring.. i mean he's not ur priority, u hav kleiza, melo, sarunas, barbosa and hart, so make it 6th option

Tue Nov 04, 2008 12:51 pm

Yeah,Boozer is known for scoring but he isn't the greatest scorer in your team, make hhim your 6th option in scoring and 1st option on rebounds

Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:27 pm

Okei and you don't like it? :D If he was in Utha then ofcourse he was top scorer and stuff but now as he is with melo and other stars then his not getting so many points :( And ofcourse my game is more like backcourt game the littl guys make the mirricles happen :)

Trade/sign rumor!

After getting two humiliating loss by Minnesota Timberwolves well actually not humiliating but just two loss Nuggets knew they have to change something. Mostly because of the first game where Denver was hardly out rebounded. The main topic was front court, how is it doing and what should they do.

The main topic that was discussed at the closed meeting by Rodney Roux, Georg Karl and Mark Warkentien was Denver's front court.. And there is now known four names that could be in trade to improve Denver’s squad.

One of the main concerns that brought them together to discuss the trading opportunities was the lack in game by some players. Some stars like Carlos Boozer, Leandro Barbosa and two timed sixth player of the year Nick Justin haven’t shown the needed blaze in their game. They have had some better games but they have been very unstable. “After four years in league Justin hasn’t got the calm head and at some easy situations he lost his nerve.” Coach Karl’s words, after one lost game.

After discussing Denver’s weaker and stronger sides they came through on an idea that Nuggets need a change. The change that should bring to Denver a strong Power Forward, through a trade or signing from free agents. Signing from free agents should be a good idea as there are a lot of guys who have lots of experiences and they really want to play again. Trading is meanwhile a good too but for other team and our opponent might get a great player and that might pay us back in the future.

One of the chances is Antawn Jamison. Former “Wizard” Having a lot to give us as scoring maybe not so good at defense and rebounding but still a strong player when it comes to offensive end. He wants only 5.46 M for 1 year which is not so much at all.

One of the considered options is Kenyon Martin. Former Nugget has it all but he is wanting a bit too much money. Right now he is hoping to get 20.67 M for 2 years. “Maybe if there is any hope to negotiate a bit then we might consider of signing him.” Mark Warkentien said.

When we watch at the money then the best choice is Luis Scola. As he is demanding only 11.08 M for 3 years. But that’s not all. He will certainly bring us the needed improvement. Maybe he is not that good when we look at rebounding and offense but he has a lot of experience as before NBA he played in Euroleague and he was just great there. What’s more he know everything about defense and that is really good too.

Another option is Hakim Warrick. He isn’t that good when it comes to rebounding but his offense is just spicy. And his dunks have made the Memphis crowed going mad for years. What’s more he wants 20.34 M for 5 years that could be an investment in the future.

When it comes to trading part then there are actually four guys too. Two of them are superstars and two of them are a bit lower caliber players but they all have a great influence for our team for sure.

The first player that is considered as trade is Drew Gooden. He has it all when he just could get a bit more playing time. He has already been in the league for 10 years and he has lot’s of experience. He is always warmly welcomed in every city’s team he played. His playing in Chicago right now and the deal might be easy to acquire him.

Second option is Elton Brand. He was traded some years ago to Atlanta Hawks for Mike Bibby which is considered as one of the worst trades in last years. But Elton hasn’t played that good in Atlanta and he hasn’t found the touch he had when he played for Philly and before that for Clippers. But we have a strong believe in this guy that he still can help us.

Third option is a Charlotte Bobcats superstar Emeka Okafor. The talent that this guy had when he first came in the league was just amazing. And that’s not all he has strongly improved and used every change to get better and better. 8 year pro and has many years to come. The best thing is that he has owned only two or so injuries through his career.

Forth and the best option is a superstar Chris Bosh. Came to the league in the year of 2003 in that wonderful draft class with Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. It would be amazing if we think that Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony could play together of course we should give a lot for that guy but that is not impossible at all. That could remind us the time when two friends and one of the league strongest duos played together, Melo and AI.

Thirteenth game against Los Angles Clippers. LA hasn’t shown the game that they are able to show. An easy 20 point win to Denver, that could very well be on the edge of changes. LA is very talented team they have all right as they have good players off the bench and in the starting five. But they haven’t used this talent. Bad thing is that they shot the ball extremely poor and made way too many turnovers. Denver played team play and that made the difference, Denver had 29 assists while LA only 10. ”We felt that the game might go over hands, then everybody started to make the game their selves. That made the difference.” Baron said after the game. He finished well 17 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal. John Weir had team high 11 rebounds and 7 points. Team high 18 points was by Chris Kaman also had 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Kleiza and Anthony had 57 points and 18 boards together and Carmelo was the player of the game.

Three team nine player trades.

Nuggets ship Obradovic, Boozer and Barbosa to Toronto for O’Neal, Bosh and Tuttle, then Bosh and Torres to Charlotte for Okafor and Lawrence.

The Nuggets traded Beijing gold-medalist Carlos Boozer, Latvian newcomer Stanislav Obradovic and all-star point guard Leandro Barbosa to Toronto for all-stars Chris Bosh, Jermaine O’Neal and sophomore Frank Tuttle.

The strong team that it was seemed to get a bit stronger now, but you never know. As experienced point guard is gone together with strong front court of the Denver. ”It is sad to see them leaving as they all are so good players, but they just didn’t cope with the idea that the team is somehow Carmelo’s team.” Was said by Karl. “I wish them good luck in their new club and hope they do well there.”

Denver got a younger star Chris Bosh who has played 635 games in his career and averaged 19.2 points, 9.3 boards and 1.7 blocks per game. Which are not at all bad numbers. A older star Jermaine O’Neal who has played 1037 games through out his career and averaged 12.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Also with them a young player from Dublin Ireland Frank Tuttle who hasn’t played many games through his career only 10 and he has averaged 0.2 assists per game. They should help Denver to win some games.

Toronto meanwhile got themselves a strong point guard Leandro Barbosa. Who has been a strong player in many teams. He has played in 607 games and averaged 8.9 points, a.6 assists and 0.7 steals per game. With him Toronto got a solution to the center problem as they got a young and strong Latvian star Stanislav Obradovic. He has played in 387 games and averaged 10.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. “That was the best time while I played for Denver but it is time to me to move on and I’m happy about that.” he said after hearing the trade was revealed. Although Toronto had to give up their power forwards they got themselves a solid star player. Carlos Boozer who has averaged 15.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game through his career 659 games in the NBA. ”Well I like that I got away from Denver I had a little problems there and now I’m happy to turn another page I’m giving all that I have for Toronto.” he said.

Then Denver traded Chris bosh with Calman Torres a shooting guard who has played in 247 games and averaged 3.2 points, 0.7 assists and 0.3 steals per game. In order to get Emeka Okafor who is young and promising forward. He has played in 490 matches and averaged 14.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. ”I’m very happy to be here and I’m hoping to give this team everything that I have.” he said. Along side with him Denver got a sophomore points guard Cassius Lawrence who has played 80 games and averaged 2.5 points, 1.4 assists and 0.2 steals per game.

”We were very happy to get Chris Bosh but when Charlotte gave us the trade proposal then we thought that this is not at all a bad move.” Coach Karl said.

Fifteenth game against Sacramento Kings. Sacramento nearly closed their loosing streak but unfortunately young team had to take their 13th loss of the season. It was also their 13th loss in a row.

Sacramento started the game very well and they caught the lead to 10 points in some points of the first half, but Denver’s strong end for the first half gave them the lead. Second half was point in point game and Sacramento showed everybody that no one can underestimate them.

Wise activity by Kings young point guard Griffiths gave them the lead in many places, he ended up with 21 points and 10 assists. Strong moves by their young center Gautier, who managed to get 18 rebounds and 8 points. Smart plays by Sacramento star Kevin Martin who ended the game 34 points. Wasn’t enough to help them to get their first win.

Denver caught the win with smart plays by their old superstar Jermaine O’Neal who ended up with 5 blocked shots. Anthony was Denver’s leading scorer with 29 points and Hart had a strong game coming off the bench and ended with 20 points. That made the difference between two teams this time.

When will the loosing streak of Sacramento ends? Nobody knows but they certainly have a young team and a promising game play.

Sixteenth game against Boston Celtics. Denver Nuggets hosted one of the league strongest teams Boston Celtics and game out of it with loss. The game was hard but it was all about Denver’s weak third quarter that paid them the win.

It was known that the game is going to be one of the hardest, and spark was in all players eyes. Boston got their engine working in the very first second and they took the lead early. Okafor from Denver Nuggets alone scored and the gap crown to 16:4. Then the come back happened and Carmelo scored 11 gradual points to take the fallen behind to minimum. And then it was point in point game to the start of the third quarter when Kevin Garnett, Khaldun Wilson and Ray Allen raised the gap to ten points and closer than five points Denver didn’t get.

Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points, which was the game high and took 7 rebounds. Lawrence had a game of his life, scored 14 points and gave 7 assists. Hart added 17 and Okafor 15 points.

Robert Swift, at the other end, had a terrific night scored 15 points, took 13 rebounds and gave 2 blocks. But Khaldun Wilson had even better. He scored 36 points, shooting 13 of 19 attempts and gave 7 assists. He was also the player of the game.

Seventeenth game against Philadelphia 76ers. Two even teams and only one could have come out of it with the win. This time was better Denver and they got the victory 115:110.

At the beginning it didn’t show that the game is going to be so close as first quarter ended with Nuggets leading by 17 points. And in some places in the second quarter the lead was already close to 25 points. 76ers showed that they want to win the game and hold on like mad. In the middle of the third quarter the lead was slipping but then Denver made another run to hold on the lead. It was going to be close at the end as Denver all their stars out and couldn’t get any buckets for 3 minutes while 76ers made the fast breaks and position attacks. Two minutes to play and Carmelo, Okafor, Kleiza came in the game and managed to make it. A close 115:110 win for Denver.

Luke Walton from Philadelphia who replaced Andre Iguodala as he had injury of broken nose, had a fantastic night. He scored game high 30 points. Carmelo meanwhile scored 29 points and took 9 rebounds, he also gave 5 assists. Rookie forward Benjamin from Philly had a great game and a strong double-double, 15 boards and 18 points. Denver’s forward Okafor had double- double too as he took 15 boards and scored 23 points.

Dwyane Wade should be first in MVP race, he and Miami is having amazing season. I like the first part of the trade, not liking the second part tho, you should´ve kept Bosh. Still it´s your dynasty, not mine. Overall I think you have a nice dynasty running
