How do I draft a 4th overall pick and end up with his overall being 73, while a 16th overall pick's overall is 72.That sucks. Anyways, here is the rest of the first round.
Key:Team/Player/Position/Overall
16.Washington-Pete Weekes/SG/72
Washington will surely benefit from Weekes presence. He wont start since Deshawn Stevenson is already in the line-up but he will add depth to a team who's bench isn't all that great.
17.Toronto-Darren Daly/SG/73
With Jason Kapono out of the roster, Daly will be needed to come off the bench. This will shift Joey Graham back to the 3.
18.Miami-Ricky Mah/SG/71
Now that Ricky Davis has entered the starting line-up and there is no other backup for SG, Miami will draft Mah to fill that position.
19.Golden State-Blake Sandler/SF/71
Sandler will help Golden State by adding depth. He will most likely start and Barnes will be assigned to the bench. With his jumping, agility, and stamina, he will fit in perfectly with this Golden State team.
20.Los Angeles Lakers-Rufus Houston/PG/71
The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be playing more a lot more younger players, starting Todd Asillio over Derek Fisher. Fisher, who barely played last season, might find his minutes shortened even more this season. Houston will most likely be the sixth man to this team since Sasha Vujacic and Vladimir Radmanovice were traded, Nenad Krstic,Fred Jones,Derek Fisher barely play, and recently signed Jumaine Jones wont see many minutes behind Odom.
21.Memphis-Felix Embrey/PG/71
Memphis, who has almost no bench production, will look to Embrey to score and dish assists coming off the bench.
22.Dallas-Stephon Vaught/C/71
A very good choice by Dallas drafting Vaught to replace an aging Erick Dampier.
23.Cleveland-Zeljko Bulic/SG/72
Not such a good pick by Cleveland, who already have Aleksandar Pavlovic and Devin Brown competing for minutes. They should have drafted a backup PF to replace Anderson Varejao, who isnt playing well at all.
24.Detroit-Raphael Willis/PG/71
Not the best choice for Detroit. With Dale Davis leaving the team, a big man would be necessary since the only other big man would be Jason Maxiell.
25.Atlanta-Jonathan Robards/C/70
Atlanta, who did so well last season will most likely do even better. Vlade Divac who recently retired, will be replaced by Robards. An excellent choice by Atlanta who have been searching for someone to run the center position.
26.Phoenix-Seal Brunson/SF/70
Despite his odd first name, Brunson will help out his team coming off the bench. This may take a while as Grant Hill is still playing well averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds. He will most likely come into use in a few years and will be given time to develop.
27.New Orleans-Victor Madden/SG/70
Not an excellent choice with Melvin Ely leaving the team and a weak frontcourt, but still a good choice nonetheless adding depth to a not so good New Orleans bench.
28.Denver-Lars Trnka/PG/69
With Anthony Carter out of the roster, Denver will benefit from Trnka as he will come off the bench behind Allen Iverson.
29.Boston-Jelani Burgess/C/70
Boston still needs a few more piece to complete the puzzle, a PG and a C. Burgess is one of the pieces that will help this team to a championship. He will take the starting position over Kendrick Perkins.
30.San Antonio-Darvin Slater/C/69
No backup PG and four C's. An awful choice by San Antonio with Jacque Vaughn out of the roster.
