Horrible defensive performance in a loss for the Lakers

(9-4)----------------------------(8-4)
Image Lakers 102 : 124 Nets Image

November 26th 2006, Staples Center - Los Angeles - California.
New Jearsey Nets had their last game of four game road trip, and they were comeing in Los Angeles to face Pau Gasol and the Lakers.

"Coach Phil Jackson, how does it feel to have a player like Pau Gasol on your team?" Carl asked. "Well it's good to have Pau on the team. He's that another scoring option next to Kobe and Lamar Odom, but he also have that passing ability that is needed in the triangle offense. But we can also look on the other side and see he's avrageing almost three blocks and more than one steal per game. He's very versatile big man and that's very good." "Thank you coach, we wish you best on tonight's game." "No problem, Carl."

"And now here's your starting power forward for your Los Angeles Lakers, Pauuuu Gasooooool," comentator in Staples Center shouted in the microphone, as Gasol walked on the court giving hige fives to the teammates. As the game began both teams played very equal basketball. Neither could get more than 6 point lead. Jordan Farmar finished the quarter with team high 12 points, he hitted 3 of 4 threes in the first twelve minutes of the ball game.

Lakers took a slight lead early in the second. They made a 10 - 0 run at start of the second quarter before Nets called a time out. Nets's point guard Jason Kidd stepped up the most in this part of the game. He scored ten of team's fourteen second quarter points. While on the other side Kobe Bryant was rolling. He had 9 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds in this period of the game. Going to the locker rooms, nobody expected what will happen in the third quarter.

Lakers second unit with Vujacic, Ariza, Turiaf and Mihm came on the court at the begining of the third. They got outscored 14 - 3 in the first three minutes of the third. Nets already overcomed Lakers's nine point lead from the first half, when coach(Phil Jackson) called a time out and putted his starters back in the game. But it didn't help a bit. Lakers played very poor defense and Nets took advantage of it. Vince Carter scored 19 of his 29 points in this amazing part of the game. While all Nets together scored 44 points in the third(only one point less than in both 1st and 2nd quarter together).

Nets came out with their second unit in the last, fourth quarter. But even their second unit knew no stop in scoring. This time Lakers at least scored back, but it was far to less and far to late to come back from more than 20 point deficite. Nets's bench players Boki Nachbar and Wright each scored 11 points in the last quarter, they each had 13 at the end of the game. Lakers's Chris Mihm scored 9 of his 10 points in this last quarter, he also had 4 rebounds and 3 three assists to go along with it. The final score was big 124 - 102 for the New Jearsey Nets.

"Kobe what happened out there tonight?" Henderson asked as he was standing next to Kobe Bryant. "Well...we played defense like crap...and to be honest i shooted like crap too. This injured finger isn't good." Bryant said as he was leaveing the court very angry. "Only for NLSC, Carl Henderson, Los Angeles."

Player of the game is Vince Carter with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.

Vince with one of his sick dunks.

The Machine's heroic wins the game for Los Angeles

(10-4)----------------------------(3-11)
ImageLakers 116 : 113 Bucks Image

November 28th 2006, Staples Center - Los Angeles - California.
One of the worst teams in the league Milwaukee Bucks(3-10 before this game) and (still)Michael Redd were coming to Los Angeles to face the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.

"Here's Lakers point guard Derek Fisher." "Derek how does it feel to be back with the team that drafted you back in 1996 and the team that you won three champion rings?"Carl said. Fisher said:"Well it's always nice to come back to a team that you won that many rings with, but my final desicion to come back in LA was because of my daughter. I just want best for her and here in Los Angeles she will get all posible medical care." "Thank you Derek and we wish you and your daughter the best." "I appriciate that Carl" Fisher said.

As the game started Lakers were underrating the Bucks and they(Bucks) took advantage of it. They started of quarter with a 10 to 0 run and silenced the crowd in Los Angeles. The go to guy for the Bucks in the first quarter was Charlie Bell who scored 14 points in this quarter. He was also the guy that hitted a amaizing 3/4 court shot at the very end of first but the officials said that he released it too late and it didn't count.

Bucks came in the second quarter with big and unexpected advantage of eleven points. Both teams played pretty good defense and missed some easy shots in the second, these two were the biggest reasons for little scoreing and that tied result in the second. Each team scored 18 points in this period of the game. High man for the Lakers at the half was Kobe Bryant with 15 points and 4 rebounds and for Milwaukee it was Michael Redd with 18 points. *Note: Dan Gadzuric grabed 11 rebounds in the first half for the Bucks.

Lakers needed something going in the third to low down Bucks lead and get the victory in the fourth. In the need of scoring an unexpected x-factor stepped on. Son of NBA legend Bill Walton, Luke Walton scored 17 of his team 33 third quarter points and brought the Lakers right back into it. But that wasn't the only thing he was doing. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and had all 3 assists in this quarter. The team from Los Angeles outplayed the Bucks for 13 points in the third quarter and took a two point lead going into the last fourth quarter.

In close last twelve minutes both teams tried to get a crucial lead to win the game. But neither could. It was the battle of stars in the last quarter. When Kobe scored, Redd gave it back on the next possesion as he scored. It was like that to the end, as Redd scored 3 seconds till the end of fourth to tie the game at 99. Gasol got a long pass on the other side of the court, he tried to passed it to Kobe on a shot, but Bell stole the ball and tried to hit once again from the opposite half, but he couldn't hit it this time. And we were going to overtime.

OverTime period:
Lakers's superstar Kobe Bryant fouled out with six fouls at the very start of overtime period. Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol were keeping the Lakers close with the Bucks. Miachel Redd missed a crucial shot to take the lead for the Bucks with 4 seconds remaining. Gasol grabbed the rebound, there were no time-outs remaining, passed it on the other side to Vujacic. Sasha got it and pulled up a runner three pointer, and the ball went in. The crowd went crazy.

"Sasha you are the hero of tonights game. You were the real Machine as your nickname is. How does it feel?"said Henderson. "It feels really amaizing. I was at the right spot, Pau gave me a perfect pass and i'm happy i hitted this one for the team..." "Sasha's the maaaaan" Ronny Turiaf screamed in the camera. "Thank you Sasha, and just to tell you it's so loud in here, the crowd is cheering Sasha, Sasha, Sasha..." "No problem Carl."

Sasha hitted that game winner, but it was Kobe Bryant that keept the team in touch true the whole game, so player of the game is Kobe Bryant: 27pts, 8rbs,2ast,2stl.

Kobe on a reverse.

Trade News in LA

November 30th 2006, Los Angeles - California.
Los Angeles Lakers GM Earvin Johnson announced on Thursday at 11 am that the Lakers have made (probably) the last trade of the season.

It wasn't a major trade like the Gasol trade, but Johnson said he wanted some more youth(as the Lakers already traded next year's 1st round draft pick). He said that the Lakers traded away shooting SF Vladimir Radmanovic, future 2nd round draft pick and signed and traded veteran center Dale Davis to the Charlotte Bobcats for next year's 1st round draft pick and Othella Harrington just to make the salaries go.

The 1st round pick that the Lakers got is probably going to be around 15th to 20th overall pick as the Bobcats are playing pretty good right now.
Othella Harrington probably won't see much playing time, he'll get chances if somebody gets injured.

Now let's see what the Bobcats got. Vladimir Radmanovic is a pretty good addition to their roster, because their roster is full of athletic guys and Vlad-Rad is a great shooter that they can put on the floor when you need threes. But the final reason why they made a trade is Dale Davis. He's very expirienced veteran that brings a lot of leadership and he plays on the center position, right where Bobcats are most thin.

Traded players.

Never knew that SAsha was nicknamed as the machine.. Anyways, nice job on getting a 1st round draft pick considering it is really hard to pull off trades like that. :D
