Italy - 76
Slovenia - 68
(Boxscores)

Game recap: Athens, 21 August 2007 - The italian Team Opend the 2007 Acropolis
Tournament in Athens vs the the Slovenian team.
All the game was very balanced and when one team could make some points the
other reach it always.
With a Fantatstic Belinelli and a with a great Contribution of the team Italy won
almost in the final minutes of the Game winning the first game of the tournament.
BELINELLI HELP AGAIN Marco Belinelli had a all around game finishing with 19 points
(9-13 from the field), 2 rebounds, three assists and 1 steal; He was
very clutch in the final moment finishing the fastbreaks and all the
actions. When nobody could find a good solution, either Bargnani in
this game, the guys gave the ball to Beli and he tryed to make a shoot and he always
hit it.
CAPIN INPLACABLE A.Capin...this is the name, not Nesterovic, this guy had completely
annoyed the Italian team.He had a lot of penetration and easy shot, he had some assists
finished with th help of his teammate Lakovic (15 points for him at the end).
Capin finished with 20 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 4 steal.
The Italian Team will play vs the Greek one tomorrow.

Damn, you're really making Belinelli into a stud; I hope he does as well as he's doing right now with the Warriors in real life.

Bargnani representin the Raptors with 9-7 on the night. Woot.

Italy - 96
Greece - 108
(Boxscores)

Game recap: Athens, 22 August 2007 - The italian team was taken to school by the 2005
European Champions, The Greece. In the second day of the Acropolis tournament the Italian
team had his first loss of the pre european championship preparation: they loss 108-96.
Even if they lost, they showed that they could won because they
took the game into overtime.
The Team also showed a lot of chemestry and that's a good sign but they still had had a lot of
turnovers:10.
BARGANI WOKE UP Andrea Bargnani of the Tororonto Raptors finally had a monstrous
game finishing with 19 points, 9 rebounds 1 steal and 1 assist.
In the first and in the second quarter he had most of his points leading the team with 9 at the half:
he ran the floor, he shoot, he took offensive rebounds changing missed shot in second offensive
chance.
BELINELLI OUTSTANDINGS Marco Belinelli had a strabge game, he started really slow, he
couldn't hit any of his shot, then late in the second and then for the rest of the game he suddenly
step up hitting all important shot and finishing tough penetration and concluding strong in
the fast break with good dunk. The Only three he hit was the most important: with 9
seconds left the Italian team had the ball in its hand; Di Bella call a pick and roll and after he
passed it he tried to penetrate, he couldn't shot but he found wide open Marco Belinelli outside
the 3 point line and he shot the three without fear and the ball went in...Overtime! But then
the Greece team was
unstopable. Other than Bargnani and Belinelli, Di Bella and Gallinari had a good game, especially
the first as he finished with 20 points with a 9-12 from the field and 1 of 2 from the 3 point line.

Lithuania - 63

Italy - 80
Slovenia - 71
(Boxscores)

Game recap: Alicante, 3 September 2007 - The Italian team started well this
experience winning the first game of the European Championship.
The coach
Charli Recalcati started with the starting 5 that we have seen a lot of time in the
preparation pre European: Bulleri, Belinelli, Mancinelli, Bargnani and Marconato;
The Italian Team started well the game with a 7-0 partial made of some great
actions by Bargnani and Belinelli.
Mancinelli did a great start stoling one of the 4 final steals and he finished the
action with a dunk in the fast break. The first quarter finished 23-13 for Italy.
SLOVENIAN RECOVERY After a difficult first period for the Slovenian
team
something chanched: they came back in the second with another mentalty;
they were aggresive and they finally hit some free shot.
Nesterovic
leaded his National team having 4 of 4 field goals (6-6 at the end), plus Lakovic
and Smodis helped him in this recovery, in fact Lakovic hit the final three pointer
at the second quarter buzzer, giving only a 5 point deficit at the half (the Slovenian
won the Second Quarter 20-15).
The third period was exactly the same thing; the Slovenian Team was trying
to reach the Italian one but at the end of this quarter they had only recovered
1 point (22-23 the 3rd partial).
ITALY CLOSE STRONG IN THE 4th The Italian Team reacted and they
closed the game early in the last quarter with an early 11-0 partial.
Bargnani
had 2 of three from behind the arc and with an inspired Bulleri and with the
Killer Instinct of Belinelli the Italian Team won their first game 80-71. Tomorrow
they will play versus the French team who had won versus Polonia today.
