Dirk Nowitzki was announced the 2006 NBA All-star Game MVP

The 2006 NBA All-star Weekend’s main even the NBA All-star Game launched on Sunday. Players’ like Marcus Banks, Carmelo Anthony, Ben Gordon had their first all-star appearance.
The game started in West’s favor, west-all stars created a 5 point lead and were holding it till the end of the quarter. Dwight Howard was the leader for the East on that quarter scoring 10 points and really pulling the team. Though the West showed some amazing performance too, from Camby and some bench players.
West was holding the lead in the first half. Though the Eastern’s players like James and Gordon were doing a solid job, their defense was not so good do hold West off.

The second half started with a bang, Eastern all-stars started attacking very fast and very successfully. In 3 minutes they destroyed Western’s lead and found themselves leading by 5. Kobe was doing the comeback job scoring 10 points in the 3rd and getting some help from Nowitzki and Nash. They managed to narrow the gap…
The last quarter was a real drama. Teams were scoring point by point and taking lead by lead. Gilbert Arenas was saving the team, but he couldn’t stand alone against two West’s clutches: Kobe and Dirk. In the last minute West was trailing by 5, when Kobe got a mid-range jumper, it was narrowed to 3. Then after few seconds East made a turnover and Nowitzki dunked to the basket with a foul. He made the foul-shot and the lead was destroyed. Teams couldn’t score any points, till there were 10 seconds left till the end of regulation. Avery Johnson called a timeout and trusted in Kobe. They got the ball out of bounds. Kobe was burning the time, then at the moment of 4 seconds left, he called for a pick and roll play. Camby did a great job, Kobe started driving in, but he faced Shaq, and there were 2 secs left, he risked and shot a fade-away, and he made it!!! Leaving Eastern all-stars 0.6 seconds left in which they couldn’t do anything…

Hornets roll…


Diaw scored 21 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, blocked 5 shots, and took the POTG honors…

New Orleans 110, Detroit 108

Because of Rip’s injury New Orleans had bigger percentage of winning, especially, when Billups was guarding Kirk Snyder. Ben Wallace had to guard Diaw, and team started rolling plays through smaller players, but after they’re bad performance Diaw did a spectacular job.

The game started in Pistons’ favor, giving them a small, but still a lead, with which they could control the tempo. Hornets were successfully hitting shots, but Pistons had their answer.
At the second Hornets tried to make a comeback, they couldn’t take the lead, but ended the quarter with a tie… West scored 10 points in that quarter

Then at the second half Diaw and bench players started their great performance. Boris and P.J. scored 10 points in the third each!!! And gave Hornets a small lead.
Then in the deciding quarter Hornets managed to save the lead and defend Pistons successfully, Hornets were scoring points, and doing all the job they needed to get the win till the last minute. Then Billups made 3 3’s and they were on a roll, but after Diaw’s another block New Orleans ended the game successfully.
