It's gonna be tight. Good luck and let's hope the game plays as it should.

 @ Honeycutt. That's like one of the funniest names ever. I remember Live 99 or 2000 having a player named Honeycutt.

(For whatever reason, it appears you can't save your stats out of playoff mode. I had forgotten this, so I didn't screenshot the boxscores before I exited the game. I had planned on just shotting the stats as normal like from the calendar. So sorry for the lack of game 1 boxscores.)

Gametime arrives- Timberwolves defeat Garnett and the Sonics

Emotions ran high as Kevin Garnett took the floor in Minnesota, but now as a Sonic. Tonight was his first appearance against his former team on their home court- injuries kept him out of their previous two meetings. He was met with almost as much, if not more, cheering than the Timberwolves players.

Regardless of the respect for Garnett, Minnesota lead almost the entire game, and sealed a 1-0 lead in this short 3 game series.

Ray Allen was the player of the game with 37 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

Timberwolves stats:
Kevin Garnett- 23pt, 12rb, 2ast, 1stl, 2blk
Boris Diaw- 21pt, 12rb, 3ast, 1stl, 3blk
Martell Webster- 16pt, 5rb, 2ast
Cyrus Pierce- 26pt, 2rb, 5ast, 1stl
Earl Watson 2pt, 1rb, 3ast, 3stl

Well, pretty owned by your trade partner ... always sad to loose in this case. But you will make it, GL !

Sat May 27, 2006 10:15 am

This series has been completed, but I'm going to have to leave you hanging for now. No time to post, and the weekend beckons me away.

Could Garnett carry his team to two consecutive victories? Did Ray Allen and company defeat Garnett in dramatic irony? Will Abraham Lincoln come back with a machete?

Find out next time on Donatello's Dynasty Theatre OF DOOM. Or... Monday.

This is an impressive, even though I'm not a fan of trading for Garnett, the fact that you have legendary Dahntay Jones in your lineup well makes up for it. I want him to flip out and go nuts and take the starting spot from that created rookie scrub.

Sat May 27, 2006 10:52 am

I can bet you'll win your next game by 10 points! LOL :D

Sat May 27, 2006 11:26 am

Tough loss, will be real tough to come bakc and win this, but you never know....

...from the Chronicles of the 2006 Birdie Project:(info)

Let's rewind the clock for a bit...(since I just got this pstat three days ago)

Donatello's Seattle 2007-08 mid-season Birdie Breakdown:
Image
Although it was Boris Diaws night in and night out presence that made him qualify for the running leader board, it was actually Garnett that supplied the ultimate punch when he was on the court. Even though he missed two games by mid-season, Kevin earned midseason Team MVP honors with a weighted Birdie efficiency score of 23.02 - and his 'reversible' LiveCard will be enabled.

Tapping into the Birdie Board for the first time in over a year!:
This Dynasty instance is currently ranked #52 on the Official 2006 Birdie Board

Image
(view entire list here)

The qualifers:
B. Diaw 18.2 ppg (ranks 10th)
B. Diaw 8.5 rpg (ranks 8th)
E. Watson 5.5 apg (ranks 9th)
E. Watson 2 spg (ranks 6th)
B. Diaw 2.46 bpg (ranks 3rd)
K. Garnett 0.493 field goal% (ranks 8th)
K. Garnett 0.865 free throw% (ranks 8th)
C. Pierce 0.406 3 point% (ranks 4th)

Complete 'Birdie Breakdown' coverage: clickhere.

Donatello: Welcome back to the Birdie Board Donatello! and once again, you and I are in the same time zones....and of course you picked the best team for Dynasty mode  Please send me a screen shot of Garnett and I can get that Live Card going for you ...and to show you how it's changed since your ugly one that got autogenerated back in the beginning of Live 05! yechhhh

Speaking up which, next year I have like 6-10 subprojects on the Live Card area that I know will definitely give it more appeal at least 20times as much...so this may be an area where you and I can really collaborate on. Thanks again for believing the Birdie project in it's infancy and hopefully we can get it to where you and I can be very proud of liveGMC!

Meh- sorry about this. I know I had really stirred up some excitement over the dynasty and the series- but I haven't had time to post, and I've played well past this point now, so I don't really want to take the time to make huge posts about what's happened. Sue me :P

Timberwolves vs. Sonics
game 2

It was a hard-fought game, but an almost triple-double from Boris Diaw led the Sonics to victory, 110-100.

Timberwolves vs. Sonics
game 3

Winner moved on- loser went home in this 3 game series finale. It would be far too ironic if Kevin Garnett's progress in the playoffs was stopped by the Timberwolves yet again, even when he's on a different team- and that didn't happen. The Sonics won the series 2-1, and moved on to the next round.

ROUND TWO
Grizzlies

The Grizzlies' complete lack of interior defense was no match for Garnett and Diaw- the Sonics beat them 2-0 to move onto the conference finals versus Dallas.

CONFERENCE FINALS
Dallas

Despite their sweeping of Memphis, Seattle was obviously the underdog in this matchup. All-around team play earned Seattle a victory in game one, but Dallas won the next two, ending Seattle's season, to move on- and eventually win the NBA title.

Team awards:

Kevin Garnett- All NBA 1st team, All defensive 1st team

Thanks ;) I edited the last post with the results against Dallas.

Just so you all know, after this season was over I simmed the next (the team was horrible and didn't make the playoffs :? ), so the next games I will be playing are in the 2009-2010 season. I've made some interesting free agent signings, and the team should be alot of fun to play with.

Too bad you lost against Dallas. Well cant wait to see who those FA signings are. (Y)

Mon May 29, 2006 6:41 pm

Mavs won the finals :headbang:

Good luck in the offseason, hopefully KG will attract big names.

Well. The dreaded DBF error goblin has struck me. I can do anything except advance on the calendar, it's an immediate crash. It's even happening on my backup copies of the dynasty. So I guess this one's hosed. That's alright, though... I can just use it as a warmup for my next dynasty, whatever it might be.

I'll be sure and make the presentation better, perhaps more like my dynasties of old. (Y)
