The Beginning...

Draft day had just passed and teams were getting ready to begin training camp, as the 05-06 season was not too far away. Players had their game faces, GMs and Coachs had their business faces.
But among all the teams, there was one who had an empty gym on the opening day of training camp. The New York Knickerbockers.

First year coach Larry Brown and GM Isiah Thomas, rolled up to training camp unaware of the news, they had been the only ones not told what was going on. They scoped the place out to find it completely empty.
Isiah pulled out his cell phone to ring some players. But as he was about to dial a number, he forgot which players were still on his team.
He was about to dial Antonio Davis, but remember he traded him to Raptors. He then went to Penny Hardaway, but remembered he traded him too.
He wispered to Brown. "Do we still have Marbury?"

Eventually they rang James Dolan, the owner of the club. Who told them to meet him and some others at the MSG.
They arrived to a small crowd of 7 people. Most who they didnt know. But one of them was famous rapper Nas.
Brown and Thomas were baffled as to why Nas was there.
Dolan told them to sit down, as he announced to them that Nas had bought out the whole organization. Brown and Thomas didnt have much reaction, they just replied, "Yeah, Ok, Congrats." As they were suspecting that their jobs were still intact.

But that wasnt the case.

Nas told to everyone there, that he was cleaning out the whole ball club, players, coaches, trainers, everything. And that he wanted to start fresh.
The league had given him approval to do this, but they didnt suggest it, as he would now only be allowed to sign players and staff with minimum contracts.
Dolan became quit relaxed and happy when he was told, he was glad to be out the shit he was in.
But as for Isiah and Larry. They were both speechless. They couldnt believe they had been dropped. Nothing had prepared them for this.

"What about the current guys, where are they gonna go. What about...umm...Stephon Marbury and...err...Eddy Curry. Where are the players going?" Isiah said trying to remember their names.
"Do I still get my paycheck? I need that money for my surgery next week." Brown explained.

"You'll both get half a seasons pay and the players will go on the free agent list." Nas told.
"Ive already hired a GM and coach. We've decided we will give contracts to 12 undrafted guys. We will obviously be playing for the future, but Id rather it be like this, than have what we had going before.
And who knows man, some of these cats may even have some skills worthy of the L."

"We're gonna have ta go make some calls, maybe some trips around the globe to find to these cats, but one things for sure. We are starting fresh. This team has been too messed up to try and fix."

That was it. That was the end of the old New York Knicks, and the beginning of the new New York Knicks.
