Rocket's bash the Hawk's in Atlanta!

Houston: 95 ; Atlanta: 77

Just a game removed from the miracle win in Chicago, the Hawk's racked up another loss at home. "It looked like the rim just had to be smaller than usual. We couldn't make a shot," says Coach Mike Woodson before adding, "It looked like only a select couple players came to play tonight." In the minds of all the Hawk's fans those two players were rookie's, Josh Smith and Sebastian Telfair. Team star, Al Harrington dissapointed the fans with an anwful field goal percentage, and getting a technical for slamming the ball down. Losing by 18, the Hawk's will have to regroup before the next game, versus the Orlando Magic.

Al Harrington Join's Hawk's TV

Image

.LA.: Al, man, you have been tearing it up this season. How's it been?

Al Harrington: Ah man, I'm having my best season yet. I'm finally getting my chance, and I feel I am making the best out of it.

.LA.: Well I would agree with that by glancing at your stats. But I'm not going to "beat around the bush", so to speak, so I'm just going to ask you straight up. What do you think of the trade rumors?

Al Harrington: Haha. Well, its not up to me. That's Usher and the rest of the Hawk's staff to make up. If they want me gone, I'm gone, ya' know? There is nothing I can do about that. I'll be honest with you, I want to win. But for now, I have no problem with this Hawk's team. But like I said, if I'm not wanted in Atlanta, go ahead and trade me. But I think that since most of the fans have been behind me, and I am playing to my expectations, I don't see what the problem is, ya' know?

.LA.: Do you want to be traded?

Al Harrington: Well, uh, the first reports came out that I requested a trade. I never did that. Ya' know, I just want to win. But at the same time, I want to get the same amount of minutes that I have now, here in Atlanta. I'm just a sore loser, ya' know? I hate to lose, and I don't want to be part of a losing franchise, to be honest with you. But things are going pretty good right now. So to answer your question, it just really depends. Time will tell. But I will tell you now that I'm fine with my situation in Atlanta.

.LA.: Ok, so can you address the situation a few games back when you played the Clippers?

Al Harrington: Ah, well I mean, I was frustrated. We were playing awful, nothing was going in for anybody, it was just an awful experience. We were all upset, I just felt, hey, we aren't coming back, nobody is helping in the effort to, so why try, ya' know? I mean I see that it may have not been the right thing now, but I wasn't going to risk injury or anything like that. Same situation, against the Rockets. I got fed up with it. What can I say? The only thing I can do is put that stuff behind me, and focus on our upcoming games. I can't focus on whether I am getting traded, or anything like that, just focus on the current situation with the Atlanta Hawks.

.LA.: Ok, well thanks for taking the time to stop by Al, and Hawk's fans don't miss the next game against Al's former team, the Pacer's.

BREAKING NEWS: TRADE REQUEST MADE!

Image

Reports indicate that Atlanta Hawk's key backup guard, Tony Delk has requested a trade fom his team. Tony had been struggling from the bench, but seems to have found his spark, averaging 11.5 PPG over the past two teams. We have no news on why just yet, but we are hoping to catch up with Tony and/or General Manager, Usher within the hour.

Tony Delk calls in to Hawk's TV!

Image

.LA.: Tony man, we appreciate you taking the time to call in. I know your busy, so I'm going to just let you kind of take the floor, and get what you want to say off your chest.

Tony Delk: Thanks L. Um, basically, as you all have heard, I approached Usher requesting a trade. It took a lot of thought, because I really love this team, and I love the role I have. I love being the advisor to the young players like Sebastian Telfair, Josh Childress, and Royal Ivey. But you know after the last two games, where I proved I still had the talent level of a starting guard, I sat back and thought it out. I mean, my time is ticking down, ya' know? I don't have to many years left in me. So as much as I love this team, and the fans, I have to do this for me. As my years are coming to an end, I want to get a ring. I want to get alot of minutes. So my apologies go out to anyone involved with the Hawk's and the Hawk's fans, but I have to do whats best for me.

.LA.: One question, will you be sitting out the Hawk's home game against the Pacer's tommorow night?

Tony Delk: Uh, no actually I am going to suit up. Usher told me it was Ok if I sat out, but I feel I owe it to the organization, and to the fans. I love this place alot, and I want to have one more moment here. Hopefully the fans can understand my situation, and welcome me in the game tommorow. I want to give anything I can to this great organization, and I wish it the best in the future. With all these great young players, I know they will achieve glory very soon. Good luck to them, and I will do anything I can to help them in tommorow's game, my farewell to the Hawk's fans and organization.

.LA.: Well, Tony, I really appreciate you calling in. We Hawk's fans are going to miss you, you truly are a class act, and a great addition to this league. Good luck in your farewell, and your future, wherever it may be
.

Hawk's Lose Another Heartbreak at Home

Indiana: 88 ; Atlanta: 82

The Hawks could not pull off the comeback victory in the fourth, and they fell to the Indiana Pacers. The Hawk's have been awful at home, with all 3 of their losses coming from Phillip's Arena. "What can I say? We tried our best out their tonight. Sometimes it just isn't enough, and tonight was one of those times," says Coach Mike Woodson. Although the "run and gun" Hawk's couldn't pull out the victory, despite a huge game by Josh Smith and Seabastian Telfair (double, double), but there was a touching moment, for Point Guard Tony Delk, for his last game as an Atlanta Hawk. When Tony entered the game, he got a surprising big ovation. He didn't score until the fourth quarter, when he hit a free throw, and then was taken out of the game. The crowd cheered him and he saluted the fans, before leaving the court. "It was amazing. I mean, I expected to get boos tonight. I was hoping the fans would understand, and I guess they did," said Tony Delk, "I'm very lucky. I may be the only player to get to leave a team in this fashion. This is such a great franchise, and who knows? Maybe I will be back here someday," he adds. Question is will a deal be pulled off before Atlanta travels to Dallas to face the Mavs.

Trade Reached!

Image

Usher: As all of you know, a few days ago, popular Hawk's guard, Tony Delk came to me requesting a trade. As much as I love Tony's attitude, and his affect on our young talent, and his whole game in general, I have granted Tony's wish, and I wish him luck in the future. With that in mind, here is the trade...

Phoenix Sun's Recieve

Guard #00: Tony Delk

Atlanta Hawk's Recieve

SG #21: Jimmy Jackson

Usher: We feel we got a great deal in this trade. Jimmy Jackson will be a great contributor, and will lead our bench. He should also easily become a leader in the lockerroom, as we hope he shows veteran leadership. Jimmy Jackson will in fact suit up for our next game, against the Dallas Mavericks. Thank you.
