only 2 words to describe: Holy Shit

Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? =)
Anyway, i didn't play any games today. i slept for 13 hours straight and didn't want to get up for work at all =).

I don't know if you guys encountered this already but during the slam dunk contest, Jumaine Jones made an armpit dunk and Bill Walton said something like "Now that's a funky rim" then Kenny replied saying "Well yeah, that rim does smell like a pit now." or something to that extent. I just find it funny. =) Oh and after that dunk, the next player also made an armpit dunk =)

and did they give him a higher score? cause i remember i did an up and under dunk with dwight howard, and then baron davis does the same dunk, but from the other side of the hoop, and i got a 40, he got a 43, i was like WTF?! and yeah, in the end he beat dwight by 2 points...

I don't remember the score they gave the second player but it wasn't a completely similar dunk, but it ended with an armpit hang =).

I played 2 games today and both are against the Wizards. I played the game on a bigger and newer TV and what a difference it was, the picture was much clearer and the surround sound was fantastic! I don't think that i can go back to the old television again. =) I do have a question for console users, has any of you tried that different TV connector that supposed to make the picture even clearer? The default TV connector that we get when we buy the PS2 is the tellow, white, and red cables only right? There is another one that has that big plug with multiples holes on it i wonder if that really works. Any insight would be helpful, thanks.
Now back to the games. I won both of the games with no difficulty at all, although the Wizards gave a much better fight on their home court, i was still able to beat them by an average of 30 points. I scored 105 points in both of the games and that is quite a feat considering that i only surpassed the 100 point mark like 10 times during the previous season. This is the third time that i scored more than a 100 points in a game after playing 12 games and the scoring has really picked up after the first 3 games; I think i'm getting used to playing with my new players now.
Dwayne Wade was the player of the game for the first game. His stats: 32pts, 13asts, 8stls. Shaq had 27pts, 13rebs, and 6blks, while Stephon Parker had 16pts and 12rebs. Shaq was the Best Player of the second game, getting 41pts, 9rebs, and 5blks. Wade had 22pts, 11asts, and 7stls. Wade has been scoring a lot more this season compared with last season when he averaged only 10 points a game.
I think the reason why Wade scored that many points is that the Wizards rookie PG wasn't being substituted at all. On both games, his stamina would be down to 0 and the Wizards still didn't sub him, well they didn't sub for Arenas too but he wasn't that weak. i ended up having Wade go coast to coast a lot of times to score, and even assisting was easy without my defender coz the other team's center would come and switch on me leaving Shaq open.
It's really fun playing with the players i have now, all of them are capable players and my frustration level is really low. I had used all my Dynasty points on training and it has really helped improve their play. But the problem with having better rating for my players is that they are going to ask for a lot of money when they become free agents. Case in point, Keyon Dooling, from a rating of 59 to 64, he asked for a 5M/yr when he only made 675k the previous yr. I'm afraid that my 7'1 SF, Rodrick Wolf, rated 74 will ask for more than 8M/yr and i will not be able to afford that. So all the training i did for my players could be used against me if i don't re-sign them. This makes salary cap management a great factor in building up a good dynasty team. EA really did a good job on this one. -thumbs up-

Yesterday i played the Wizards on back to back games and today i played Cleveland on back to back games. The sad thing is, after i played both games, just as i was saving my game my PS2 hanged!!! I hate it when that happens! It's ok when my players played badly but when i had good stats then that is much harder to take.
I played the first of 2 games again and won. Lebron has become a great shooter in the game but i had him guarded by a 7 footer so it's more difficult for him to make shots. He ended up with only 12 points and wasn't a factor in the game at all. Jeff Mcginis was the one scoring for the Cavs, they have a rookie center that is a good shot blocker but scoring was something they struggled on. Stephon Parker was the player of the game getting 24pts and 12rebs. It's the first time that the Sophomore PF got to be the player of the game. Shaq had 21pts, 13rebs, and 2blks while Wade had 12pts, 13asts, and 5stls.
The Spotlight is on for Stephon Parker. The 7'2 PF who was projected to be a second draft pick last season is now ranked among the best PF in the league. He is currently averaging 19.4pts, 9.3rebs, 1.56blks, 2asts, and .36stls after 13 games. Missing on the rookie of the year last year, he has shown better inside scoring and free throw percentage this season. If i had to choose whom to re-sign from my last season's rookies, i would pick Stephon first then Wolf, Abraham and last would be Long. All of them has shown great improvement this season, i'm sure that if all of them were given the chance to play for long minutes they would be able to contribute better stats as well. Long stepped in for the injured Shaq last season and averaged more than 20pts and 10rebs. Wolf has shown that he can score 20 points every night. I hope that i have enough salary cap to re-sign all these rookies to long term contracts.

The Heat's 14 game winning streak might be over but in my Dynasty, the 20 game winning streak is alive. Getting quite a scare from the Bobcats, the Heat got away with a 5pt win after trailing the Bobcats the whole game. The Bobcats is rated 96 because they were able to sign Chris Webber and grant Hill. The game was close until about 3 minutes left when shaq overpowered the Bobcat's frontcourt players for 6 straight points to win the game.
Against the Wizards, Wade was able to get his 2nd triple-double of the season by getting 42pts (career high), 11stls, and 10asts. This was the most lopsided game i played beating the Wizards 37 to 108. Wade beat Washington by himslef. The same problem is still there, Washington is not substituting their PG even if the stamina is already down to 0. Weird.
Shag is East Player of the Month for December and Garnett is West Player of the month.
Shaq and Parker suffered injuries during the past week but they didn't missed games although recovery time was 6 days. Shaq was already injured when he re-injured the same elbow again and caused him to miss the rest of the game. To my surprise, he came back the next game fully recoverd from the injury.
Shaq (28.8pts, 10rebs, 3.86blks) and Wade (15.2pts, 8asts, 7.56stls) are both MVP candidates as of January 12.

Hey guys, i know that i've been missing in action for a while but it's not because i didn't have anything to write, you see, i write this stuff while i'm in the office (shhhh!) but around 2 weeks ago the company set up surf control on our PCs and nba-live was blocked. I tried writing at home but my modem is busted =(. Anyway, i have access tonight so i'm gonna write a few things that happened in my dynasty.

I've played 34 games so far this season and i have won all of them. The Lakers' 33 game winning streak has just been broken by the Heat. The major change this season is the increase in scoring brought about by the increase in assist too. Wade is leading the league in assist at 8.1 and the rest of the starting 5 is averaging more than 2 assists per game. Wade is also averaging an unbelievable 7.86 steals a game and that gives the Heat a lot more possesions to score. Wade also increased his scoring from 10ppg last season to 15.7ppg this season. All these has pushed Wade to number 4 in the MVP race. Another player getting a lot of steals this season is Rodrick Wolf, at 7'1, he is averaging more than 2spg, along with 10pts, 3rebs, and 3asts.
Shaq is averaging his usual 30.1ppg and 10.8rpg but the significant improvement he had this defense is his defense. He is blocking a league leading 3.85blks per game. Helping Shaq in the paint is PF Stephon Parker who is blocking 1.89blks and grabing 8.8rebs. His scoring has also increased from 16ppg last season to 18.5pts this season.
My starting SG, Tyler Constantine is still a work in progress, at 7'0 he is actually a SF that i modified into a SG. He is able to penetrate and go to the basket but he is unable to finish the shot. Hopefully with a few more training sessions, he will be a much better player.
This season is going very well for the Heat but we might be looking at a different team next season because 6 players have expiring contracts. Heading the list is Wade, Parker, Butler, Hardaway, Wang, and Sato. I am concerned at how much Parker is going to ask because i know Wade would ask for more than 10M and i have enough cap space to re-sign him. Parker on the other hand could ask for more than 5M and i'm worried that i will not be able to re-sign Butler and Hardaway. Both of these guys are important players off the bench for the Heat. Butler provides the 3pt shooting and Hardaway is the slasher. The only one i'm willing to let go is Sato, he is a SG but can't dribble very well so he's useless.

sucks about that work situation man, i hate it when they do that. we have these controls at school, we can always get around it, but that involves making fake accounts and disconnecting the internet cord until login is complete, and that looks just plain shady.
3.85 b/g for shaq is pretty crazy if you ask me. and i'm wondering about wang, you thinking of resigning him?
Fri Jan 14, 2005 4:07 am
Yeah, I want resign Wang only if i could afford him after i resign Wade, Parker, Butler and Hardaway =). The thing is i have two young 7'5 centers waiting in line to get playing time and i don't have any chance of playing Wang anymore. I like him coz during my first season when he was my primary back up center, he averaged 20pts and 10 rebs during the duration when shaq was out with injuries, i think that was 7 games, so i know what he can do, it's just sad that i can't play him. But i still want to keep him on my team =).
If i want to be more defensive i just plant Shaq in the paint and wait for the opponent to come to the paint. I get my blocks mostly on jumpshots. If you read my response regarding guarding post up players then that's how i get most of my blocks. =)
Didn't play any games yesterday, played badminton and got home late =). I'll play a few games later when i get home =).

i see that a lot of teams r changin their teams around... but i thought that ppl said that in live 05 teams dont change at all, and jus resign their players???

if i get your question correctly, Teams do resign their own players unless they are over the salary cap, like Houston was able to resign yao and Ben Wallace was resigned by Detroit, but that was after they made Wallace availble on free agency. If you read thru my Dynasty then you should know that i almost signed him =). Some players do transfer teams, like Chris Webber and Grant Hill are now with the Bobcats. So the teams with cap space are the ones that will be able to sign good players. The good thing about this is that after awhile all teams will have a competetive team. =)

Anyway, i played only 2 games today and won them both, the first game was against the Sonics and the 2nd game was against Utah. Nothing much happened against the Sonics, i won the game and Shaq was the player of the game with 28pts 11rebs, and 2 stls. No other stellar performance from the other players aside from Wade who handed 14 asts, so it's not worth mentioning. Allen was in his usual sharpshooting self and Rashard Lewis was in foul trouble most of thegame so he wasn't a factor at all.
Utah gave me a tougher game though, well at least during the 1st half. Arroyo was making his shots, Kirilenko was blocking my shots, Boozer was all over the place, and Kebu Benjamin, last season's rookie of the year candidate was playing great. But for my team, it was only Shaq making all the points, scoring 20 points in the 1st half. The surprise player of the game was Rodrick Wolf, i've mentioned before that this player has great potential and could be a superstar in the league. He is 7'1, SF, 6th pick of the Spurs in the 2005 draft. I got him through a trade so i'm happy that i was able to push thru with that. His stats for the game, 21pts, 12rebs (career high), 5stls (career high), 2 blks and 2 asts. Shaq was still the player of the game with 33pts, 9rebs, and 3blks but Wolf's contribution can't be ignored.
It's great to have a very strong draft class to start your Dynasty. You can follow the careers of NBA future stars and watch them develop their game. For my team there is Stephon Parker and Rodrick Wolf, Bashini Long needs more playing time but he's going to be a good player. The 76ers have the 2005 Rookie of the Year, Joshua Smehlik, who is a good outside shooter, dunker and a defensive player. The Lakers have Sadiku Choi, a center who has good shot blocking ability and is also an able scorer. Kebu Benjamin for Utah is a great back up for Boozer and he even play better than Boozer sometimes. There are a lot more good sophomores in my Dynasty from the 2005 very strong draft class, i just can't remember all their names. =)

I finally bought an S-cable TV connector for my PS2 during the weekend and i'm satisfied with the clarity of the picture that the cable brings. I used to play on an old TV where the picture was dark and the detail of the court and players were not clear, like when you shoot free throws during the game, i was not able to see the free throw target very well. Then i moved to a newer television and the picture was much clearer than before, but this new cable takes away the grainy resolution and brings a very fine picture. I used to have my players wear white rubbershoes because i can't see the details of the shoes very well with the old TV. Now i have my players wear black shoes on away games and the details are still visible even without zooming in. The best thing is i got for a third of the price of an original PS2 S-cable =).
I won like 8 games during the weekend. I stopped Detroit's 17 game winning streak and Orlando's 10 game winning streak. Wolf has been getting more assists and Constantine is scoring more points. Shaq was East Player of the Month for January and Garnett was West Player of the Month.
One thing i found out was, if you train your players, their rating will not change immediately, but when you go and edit the player, their rating gets updated and that's when their rating increases. This has happened to me 3 times already. I have several players increase their rating just by me changing their rubbershoes. On my previous post i said that my rating was 88, now i'm at 91 already, and before that i was at 90.

I played 2 games last night and i guess all of you are tired of reading me winning again, well, i did. Dallas gave a good fight with Terry and Finley lighting up the stadium from all over the court. Now i told you guys that i don't usually shoot the 3 nor do i make plays to make a 3pt shot, over the course of the 48 games i played i think i've attempted less than 100 3pointers only. During the last few games though, Rodrick Wolf has manage to make 4 of his 5 3pt attempts and has really become a threat when he is left open. I have written about his slashing and dunking skills but i've never really made him shoot the 3 that much. He is not averaging .381 on his 3pt FG% and he is leading my team. The best 3pointer on my team is Rasul Butler but he is a bench player.
Stephom Parker suffered a wrist injury but he is lucky not to miss games. He is slowed down by it but at least i can still play him.
Shaq averaged 32pts, 14.5rebs, 2blks, 2stls, and 4.5 asts for the 2 games. I wonder how many more seasons can Shaq maintain this productivity, i want to make him overtake Jabbar on the most points scored in a career. I think that is more attainable rather than the number of rebounds Wilt made in his career.
Wade has been pretty stable; his stats against Dallas was 23pts, 3rebs, 12stls, 8 asts. His scoring average is down to 14.7 but his asts average is up to 8.4. He is still averaging more than 7 steals a game, and he could be the only player to get 1000pts, 600asts, and 500stls in a season.
