Mr. Big Shot, Baron Davis, will miss Game 1?
Some questioning news have risen as Baron Davis might miss Game 1, and possibly Game 2. The Point-Guard has injured his Left Shoulder while going for a rebound and falling. Doctors are not optimistic and things might not be that good at all. Even if he will miss, who are the Cavaliers going to replace him with? Stay tuned, for more updates.
A Forth Quarter comeback.. Not Enough
First Quarter
Ahh, its the best time in the NBA, the Playoffs. Cavaliers were expecting the home-court advantage, but having Atlanta against them, and missing Baron Davis for their first game, things did not look the best. Byron Scott had a big desicion to bring DeMar DeRozan off the bench to the starting Point Guard spot.
Right from the start, Atlanta had the upper edge. They were scoring great and really were controlling the game. It took some time to fire up for Cleveland, but they got on a roll too. All of the starters except Varejao got their points to get the game back. They did get the final basket, but it ended 24-21 for the Hawks.
Clevelands top scorer: D.DeRozan 6 PTS 1 REB
Atlantas top scorer: Ja.Crawford 8 PTS 1 AST 1 STL
Second Quarter
Right from the go, Donte Greene posterized Armstrong, and committed a three-point play, to tie it up. After that, it was DeRozan who again posterized Hilton. Then the game went back-and-forth quite a while, with neither side taking the huge lead.
But with five minutes left on the clock, Cavaliers crumbled. They really lost all of their focus, and made the game double-digits. By the end of the half, it was a 11-point game, as it ended 51-40.
Clevelands top scorer: D.DeRozan 10 PTS 1 REB
Atlantas top scorer: Ja.Crawford 12 PTS 2 AST 2 STL
Third Quarter
Right from the start, the Hawks had problems. Jeff Teague fell on his knee, but still could play. Cavaliers tried to come back, but were not as effective as usual. But then, Jamal Crawford injured himself bad, and left the court. This gave Cleveland a huge boosting, even getting the game to four.
Atlantas sharp-shooting leader Joe Johnson however had other ideas, as he started scoring big, getting 20 of his points in the third. Cavaliers went to rock-bottom, even with T-Will scoring most of his points in the third. But by the end of three, it was 80-63, and only a team-effort could save the Cavaliers.
Clevelands top scorer: T.Williams 19 PTS 6 REB 2 AST 2 STL 1 BLK
Atlantas top scorer: J.Johnson 26 PTS 2 REB 3 AST 1 STL
Forth Quarter
Well, what the Cavs ordered, they got it. Most of the Cavaliers players started killing it. T-Will, Parker, Greene, Griffin, DeRozan. Everybody posted their points. They were really close on getting the game back, only they had two problems.
Al Horford heating up, and Joe Johnson still scoring like a maniac. J-Smoove also got a double-double, and by the last minute, it was all over, no matter what Cleveland did. The game ended 114-102, and the Hawks taking Game 1 from this series.
Press Conference
"Coach Scott, you worked on home-court advantage the whole season, and now you lose game one. Do you think it was fluke or what?"
"They are a tough team, no doubt. We just got to work harder. Missing Baron also hurt us."
"Jamal Crawford, how is your leg?"
"I have sprained it pretty bad, if this series does not go to 6 or 7, then I might miss it."![]()

The Jersey Swap or Parkers 29?
First Quarter
With the Cavaliers losing last game, they had a last chance to win at home before going to Atlanta. Something noticeably different was, they had changed their game uniforms.
Right from the start, it was an even matchup. Joe Johnson again started killing it, with Cleveland staying behind 10. Byron Scott put all the offensive fire-power on Anthony Parker, who delivered, and even helped them get the lead. Atlanta was still scoring strong, and with Erden missing the final shot, the first ended 35-30.
Clevelands top scorer: A.Parker 12 PTS 1 AST
Atlantas top scorer: J.Johnson 13 PTS 1 AST
Second Quarter
It took five minutes for DeRozan, Greene and Eyenga to get the game back, but they managed to do so. Hawks on the other end were dominating as usual, with Josh Smith being their main contributor for that Q.
But when the starting five for the Cavaliers fully came to play, Anthony Parker started doing what he did in the first : Scoring. He was a menece, who apparently Joe Johnson could not even stop. His final shot of the half did get blocked by Horford, and it did end 57-56 for the Hawks, but you could see it in Parkers eyes, he was more hungrier then ever.
Clevelands top scorer: A.Parker 20 PTS 2 AST
Atlantas top scorer: J.Smith 18 PTS 1 AST 2 REB 1 STL 4 BLK
Third Quarter
Things started off bad for the Cavaliers. DeMar DeRozan got injured from the start of the half, and things were looking bad. However, he did return to the game a few minutes later, but he was not as effective as in the first half. Right about then, Cleveland crumbled.
Joe Johnson started killing it again, and so did Smith. But Parker knew that if he wanted something done, he had to do it himself. Luckily for him, T-Will started to help him out, and they got near-and-near to the Hawks.
However, when Parker was subbed out, Eyenga came in and started killing it. He posted 8 points and really made the defense look bad. With J-Smoove in his face, Eyenga pump-faked him, went away and hit a buzzer-beater three, to end the game 82-79, still for the Hawks.
Clevelands top scorer: A.Parker 26 PTS 3 AST
Atlantas top scorer: J.Johnson 27 PTS 4 AST 2 REB
Forth Quarter
Those were the Cavs everybody wanted to see. Parker could take a breather, as Eyenga started scoring. The injured DeRozan also made his bid, so did Greene. Terrence managed to get 23 points again.
But it was not over. Cavaliers were controlling it, but Joe Johnson went on fire, scoring huge. He had 41 points, before he was subbed. Kirk Hinrich managed to assist everybody, as he got an double-double.
But with Cleveland controlling the game calmly, the last pass to Griffin as he laid it through the hoop, ended the game 110-105, with the Cavaliers going away, tied up.
Press Conference
"Anthony Parker, today, you showed everybody that a retiring man is still on fire! What motivated you the most?"
"I tell you what. The press. You guys over here. Always complaining that I am retiring. Guess What? I just dropped 29 points like it was nothing!"
"Joe Johnson, how do you feel, after dropping a new career-high in the Playoffs, but still losing?"
"I feel like I do everytime we lose. It does not matter if you drop 100 points or 10 points, losing is losing."![]()
