Wizards Shoot the Lights Out By Scoring 50 In Final Quarter

Antwan Jamison fouled out just a minute into the final quarter, but that certainly didn’t slow the Wizards down as they lit the Celtics up for 50 points in just the final quarter to steal a win on the road. Literally right after Jamison went out, Richard Hamilton picked up his 5th and was sent to the bench, with Eddie Jones replacing him.

Wizards center Brendon Haywood stepped up in the absence of Jamison, blocked several layup attempts by the Celtics. By the halfway point of the final quarter the Wizards had a 100 – 92 point lead. Without Hamilton, it was up to Paul Pierce and Delonte West to try and bring the Celtics closer, which they did after Pierce drained a three to pull the game within just one point. Quick buckets by Jared Jefferies and Haywood with a couple Boston misses and that gap opened to 8 again.

With just 3.5 seconds left and the Celtics down 122 – 120, the ball was in the hands of the man who beat them last time: Gilbert “Agent Zero” Arenas. Instead of waiting for the Celtics to intentionally foul him, Arenas pull up for a three–pointer, nailing it. Haywood was named the POTG with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Jefferies also had a double–double with 17 points and 11 boards. On the green side, Pierce led all scores with a game high 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Richard Hamilton was only held to 4 points, which was a big factor in the game.

how am i a hippy if i have short hair? :? how about you busy yourself by taking a picture of something...

Hot Dog! We won again (sorry Greg); but i only scored 7

btw, nice gay-ass wizards jerseys Azn ;) and for the love of god, please win a game... (Y)

The jerseys are going to be pretty crappy for the next game or 2 because I added unreleased jerseys without alphas. Then I spent putting new alphas on literally every jersey in the game, very tedious.

The losing streak is just a repersentation of the real life Celtics. You want more realistic, well its getting there.

I feel like if you average out my season scores, they are like on par with the Mavs or Suns in real life.

So now you must lose like all the remaining games. But even after this, you would still have more wins than real Celtics

Btw, looking forward for your character coming to Boston

Tough loss, good to see P double playing well (Y)

Jermaine O’Neal Breaks Foot and Will Be Out About 7 Weeks

With just 5 minutes left in the final period of play and the Pacers up by 1, O’Neal stepped on Rudy Gay’s foot after a dunk, and went down screaming. O’Neal was carried off the court and to the St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, where he was diagnosed to have broken a bone in his right foot; doctors estimated he will be out for about 6 to 7 weeks. 2nd year player Danny Granger and David Harrison will split O’Neal’s time at the Power Forward position.

As for the game, the Pacers never lost their lead in the final quarter, actually stretching it to double-digits before the Celtics stormed back behind Pierce and Hamilton’s fast breaks. Hamilton’s alley-hoop to Pierce from half-court was made the top play of last night’s Sportscenter, but the Celtics were not able to come out on top in the game. Being down by 9 and less than 20 seconds left, then Celtics simply let the Pacers dribble out the clock.

Jamaal Tinsley was the POTG with 24 points and 11 assists. O’Neal had 9 points and 10 rebounds before leaving with his injury. Jeff Foster also had only 6 points, but more than made up for it with a game high 16 rebounds.

Boston’s Al Jefferson’s name has been on list for trades since the beginning of January. This shot he shot only 7 points and grabbed only 3 rebounds. Rudy Gay however pushed his candidacy for ROTY and a starting lineup spot with 23 points and 8 rebounds in just 22 minutes. Perkins and Pierce both had double-doubles in points and rebounding.

Delonte West Explodes for 31 In Celtics Win

It was retro day in the TD Banknorth Garden when the Los Angeles Lakers visited. The Celtics wore their 1962-63 retro jerseys while the Lakers donned their 1961-62 jerseys.

The game was barely in the Celtics’ favor 74 – 73, and the game continued to be extremely close. Bryant single-handedly took the Lakers against the Celtics. In a span of just several minutes, Bryant had a 360 windmill dunk followed by an up and down layup. The play of the game was when Bryant imitated Jordan’s Slam Dunk winning contest by leaping almost from the free throw line.

Bryant was a one man machine, but just one person can’t beat the Celtics, the best fourth quarter team in the league. Boston used scoring from Pierce, Hamilton, and of course, West to barely hold a lead against the Lakers. And with 15 seconds left, after Bryant jacked up a three-pointer that missed, the Lakers were forced to intentionally foul. After several free throws, the Celtics put the game out of reach.

West was named the POTG with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

yay a win and i might have to modify that Celtics retro it looks too dark

Wed Mar 07, 2007 1:42 pm

Damn, I played 40 minutes and took no shots.

The Lakers lost that one. If they had hit their free throws and Smush didn't toss up 3 point bricks, they might have pulled it out.

Thu Mar 08, 2007 12:23 am

fuck the clippers

nice work on the recap man, and nice work with delonte (Y)

    January Recap
    Courtesy of the Boston Celtics

    Image

Boston capped January by going 10 – 7, pushing their overall record up to 29 – 16. Key wins included at Detroit and at home against the Cavaliers of LeBron James. Though losses against the Hawks and Raptors hurt the Celtics overall power ranking.

    Image

Against team captain Paul Pierce led the way for the Celtics, leading them in scoring, 3rd in rebounding, and 4th in assists. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Kedrick Perkins has raised his points per game average to nearly 10 points and his rebounds too. Al Jefferson’s point contributions have gone down considerably during January, causing his scoring average to be just 10 points, though he hasn’t let up on the defensive end, leading the team with 8.7 rebounds a game. The backcourt of Richard Hamilton and Delonte West has been key, as they combine for 10 assists a game as well as over 35 points.
Rookie Rudy Gay has been a main factor off the bench, scoring 9.8 points a game. His performance looks to lock him into a spot on the rookie team for the All-Star Weekend. The other bench player is Eddie Jones, providing veteran leadership as well as a steady 6.1 points a game as the 6th man.

    Image

Jon Smith continues his run for the Rookie of the Year as he is averaging a double-double of 21.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. His competitor Ben Branch has fallen considerably behind, putting up only 18.5, 10, and 4.6 per game. Portland point guard Sam Anurak leads all NLSC rookies with assists, he his averaging 5.6 a game while also putting in 17.7 points and looks to be the starting man for the rookie squad. Other notable performers are Eric Quach from Charlotte, who is scoring 17.9 a game.

    Image

Kevin Garnett is finally being considered for the MVP after so many years, and he will certainly be a lock if his Timberwolves get into the playoffs. A surprise runner in this race is Donyell Marshall, who is having a career year with the Cavs with 23.9 points a game and 9.9 rebounds. Shawn Marion’s name just came into mention for the MVP last week.

    Image

Minnesota swept the Western Conference awards, with Garnett wining the West of the Month while point guard Cocobee grabbing the West Rookie of the Month. Cocobee has seemed to have hit the rookie wall, but despite that still playing hard. His 14.6 points per game and 4.8 assists are hard-earned.

For the East Player of the Month Donyell Marshall won it easily, having his career year. The Rookie award went to ROTY frontrunner Jon Smith, who averaged 22.7 points and 11.1 rebounds during the month, what makes Smith that much more valuable is that he is also able to pass, indicated by his 5.2 assists during the month as well.

    ImageImage

Philadelphia still manages to stay atop the Eastern conference with 37 wins and just 10 losses. The bottom dweller in the East is definitely the Atlanta Hawks, who are just 9 – 36 and will most likely contend for the first pick in the draft yet again.

In the West San Antonio stands above everyone else, with 32 wins and 15 losses; Phoenix is right on their tail, with 31 wins and 15 losses. The Blazers are the worst of the West with just a 12 – 35 record, including 3 losses into a row headed into February.

Sat Mar 10, 2007 1:28 pm

Sat Mar 10, 2007 1:57 pm

Wow, you sure spend a lot of time on this... (Y)

Sun Mar 11, 2007 10:29 am

It was alright, didn't take too much time, about half an hour or so. Its slow at first, but once you get into the habit and whatnot its pretty fast. Though because I've done it so much, its become more like a chore and something that is mandatory.

Sun Mar 11, 2007 6:10 pm

lol~I wish I were in ur roster~but I couldnt find any proper front pic of myself~sigh
Posting threads like a chore is crazy man~

Tue Apr 24, 2007 4:06 pm

Yea... This dynasty has seen some good stuff, however there are just too much corrupt things within it... Plus underneath all the flashy layouts, screens, jerseys, and cyberfaces is still the basis of a really shitty game.

I am gonna call this dynasty.. Maybe you'll see something new, but only when I have time.

Enjoy Live everyone.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 7:19 am

This was good. I will remember from this dynasty Celtics playing unrealistically good

Take care Jing

Thu Apr 26, 2007 10:40 am

sorry to see this dynasty officially end, i hope you start another one.

Sat Apr 28, 2007 3:14 pm

haven't really been watching as Live stinks at the moment, but sorry to see it end (N)
