Veterans Pull Out Win For Galant Heat

Alonzo Mourning and Gary Payton turned back the clock tonight, Mourning finishing the game with a double double [25 points, 10 rebounds] filling in at center for the injured Shaquille O'Neal and Gary Payton scored 26 points and handed out 6 assists off the bench, bother combining for 51 points.

A poor shooting night for Ben Gordon going 5 for 21 from the field including 2 from 9 from behind the arc, Chicago shot poorly from 3 the whole night making just 28% of their shots.

Rumour has it that Chicago are looking to unload a big man before the season is done, having virtually no tall men when Mike Sweetney was injured, Chiacgo had a big dip into the free agency pool and plucked out rookie Chris Taft, also in a big trade move aquired Sean May with Charlotte and Darius Songaila was re-aquired from Atlanta. All 3 big men have performed poorly when given their opportunity but the front man might be Darius Songaila.

Game Breakers

Tyson Chandler: 4-6 FG 11 Pts, 12 Rebs, 1 Ast, 2 Stls, 2 Blks
Marvin Williams: 7-19 FG 22 Pts, 12 Rebs, 1 Blk

Gary Payton: 11-17 FG 26 Pts, 2 Rebs, 6 Asts, 1 Stl
Alonzo Mourning: 12-20 FG 25 Pts, 10 Rebs
Dwyane Wade: 6-13 FG 16 Pts, 6 Rebs, 2 Asts, 2 Stls, 2 Blks

Huge First Quarter Sinks Washington

Chicago started off the game with a sizzling 45 point first quarter and carrying a huge 21 point lead into half time, Washington responded by outscoring Chicago in the third which lead to an even final quarter, Chicago outscoring the Wiz by 1 for a 15 point victory. Gilbert Arenas was a virtual spectator tonight, playing just 29 minutes, he put up just 4 shots finishing with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 1 block.

Artest/Jackson Shoot Lights Out

Ron Artest wasnt even seen the last time these two teams met earlier this year, but tonight he more than well made up for it tonight nailing 36 points with 14 from 24 shooting from the floor, he failed to make a three pointer out of his 5 attempts. Stephen Jackson added to his legend against the Bulls knocking down 5 threes and going 10 from 18 from the floor to finish with 30 of his own.

Marvin Williams carried the Bulls on his back tonight, solidifying himself as one of the top rookies in the league, shooting as if hed never miss going 11 from 15 and 7 from 9 from the foul line he set another career high in points with 29. Tag 10 rebounds and 4 assists with that.

Indiana shot 50% from the feild tonight where the Bulls shot a disapointing 35%. They were never in the contest and were outscored heavily in every quarter on the way to a disgraceful 41 point loss.

Game Breakers

Marvin Williams: 11-15 FG 29 Pts, 10 Rebs, 4 Asts, 1 Stl, 2 Blks
Kirk Hinrich: 4-15 FG 13 Pts, 3 Rebs, 5 Asts, 2 Stls
Tyson Chandler: 3-17 FG 8 Pts, 9 Rebs, 2 Stls

Ron Artest: 14-24 FG 36 Pts, 5 Rebs, 2 Asts, 2 Stls, 2 Blks
Stephen Jackson: 10-18 FG 30 Pts, 1 Reb, 2 Asts
Jermaine O'Neal: 6-15 FG 15 Pts, 16 Rebs, 3 Asts, 3 Stls, 3 Blks

Williams' Career High Steers Bulls To Victory

Chicago put up just 69 shots against the Hornets, and they nailed 40 of them, finishing the game with 58% field goal percentage including 10-14 from downtown.

For the second game in a row Marvin Williams has acheive his career high in points, and tonight he did it more spectacularly than his previous highs. Nailing all 4 of his 3 pointers, converting all 6 of his foul shots and going 14 from 18 from the floor, finishing the game with an astonishing 38 points, a tremendous point tally for a rookie in any sport.

Jamaal Magloire had a double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in his 43 minutes tonight, but didnt have any help from his fellow starters, they all got off to starts but couldnt finish off strongly.

Game Breakers

Marvin Williams: 14-18 FG 38 Pts, 13 Rebs, 1 Ast, 3 Stls, 1 Blk
Kirk Hinrich: 5-15 FG 15 Pts, 4 Rebs, 13 Asts, 1 Stl, 1 Blk

Bulls Backcourt Run Riot On Celtics

Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich played 46 and 42 minutes respectivly tonight and made the most of them, both scoring 26 points combining for 52 points in 18 from 41 shooting including 6-12 shooting behind the arc and 10-12 shooting from the foul line.

Paul Pierce carried the load for the Celtics scoring 30 points making 13 of his 23 shots. He also pulled down 10 rebounds. His Backcourt mate Dan Dickau had a poor night shooting but helped out handing out 8 assists to go with 14 points.
