Alex Buckley was announced a member of the Indiana Pacers by GM Larry Bird. Buckley hails from Hershey, Pennsylvania, but also has a passion for the Boston Celtics. Due to this, and his quickness and love for the Celtics, Bird decided it might be best for him to play under the watch-full eye of one of the best Celtics players there was. Buckley is a skinny little kid, and will really need to bulk up, or will risk serious injury from the likes of Shaq and Amare Stoudamire. He has a lot to learn, but it’s his willingness to learn and his fast rate of growth that made him such an attractive player to Bird. It’s too early to say whether this is a good move or not, but so far Bird is looking more smart than dumb.

I guess i changed haha.

Hopefully Bird will make me a freestyle superstar.

[ Grizzlies Boxscore ] | [ Warriors Boxscore ]

MEMPHIS, TN (AP) – All looked lost for the Golden State Warriors three minutes into the first quarter of their preseason match up against the Memphis Grizzlies. As starting center Andrew Watson went up for a defensive play against Grizzlies superstar Pau Gasol, he landed and instantly grabbed his left arm, and staggered to the bench, where he was replaced by Andreas Dahl. Seeing the injury seemed to fuel the Warriors as they surged behind great play by Dahl and forward Ben Branch. They even took the lead at 17-15 in the first quarter. However the Warriors lacked size after losing Watson, and therefore lost the quarter 24-19.

The second quarter was more of the same story. With the starters struggling to put points on the board they were taken out and replaced with the bench players, who proved to play better than their counterparts. Instantly Mikki Dela Rea stole the ball and went down for his first points of the game. Zac Mousoulis was deadly and he defended Mike Miller and guard Mark Moore was sent to the line many times. Despite the good effort they had trouble on defense and couldn’t stop Gasol in the second. The players at the half were Pau Gasol with 14 points and 6 boards, while the player for the Warriors was Branch with 10 points and 4 rebounds.

During halftime the report on Watson came in. He suffered a fractured bone in his left arm and will be out for at least a couple games. He wanted to play, and had to be held back when heard he was being moved onto the IR. He was so furious that it took Xu and strongman Munoz, who didn’t play, to hold him back.

“The organization is extremely happy with Andrew’s eagerness to play, but he got injured, and he needs to heal, or else the injury could become even worse.” – Montgomery told press at halftime.

In the third quarter the Grizzlies came out pulling all the guns. Gasol was totally dominating the board while Mike Miller and Damon Stoudamire were cutting left and right to get open for quick jump shots. Before the Warriors knew, they were down by a huge margin and nothing they could do would work, they even missed extremely easy right under the basket layups.

Opening the last quarter the Warriors were down 85 – 59 and the game was way out of reach again. Despite this the Warriors because true warriors as they dove for every lose ball and boxed out on every shot that went up. They went on to score 41 points in that quarter alone while only letting Memphis get 30. Mark Moore and Mousoulis were great because they found ways to score. But the deficit was already way too huge and time became their greatest enemy. The final score was 115-100. This was overall a much better game for the Warriors because one, they didn’t get blown out, and secondly, they swung the ball much better and took advantages of the gaps in the defense. If they continue to learn and improve like this, they can really before a force in the league.

lol yeah with X gone i figure you will be moved to PF while Ben gets moved to center. Your performance in the last couple games have been outstanding, and I moved myself down cause I've been doing nothing in the past few games.
