Raef LaFrentz 1st Selection

A huge first selection for the 29 year old out of Kansas. The fans have given him the nod infront of Ilgauskas and Shaq [Who isnt playing] Averaging career highs of 20.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, is steering Boston in the rigt direction with fellow
All Star starter Paul Pierce.
Jermaine O'Neal 5th Selection

With his 5th selection, is the 3rd time he has started in the All Star game. Isnt scoring as much as he was last year, averaging nearly 4 points less with 21.2 points, but is averaging 1 more rebound per game, 11.2 and is averaging 2.1 blocks per game.

Steve Francis 4th Selection

Will be back infront of his old home town crowd, with no T-Mac to be seen in All Star calculations, it seems Orlando got the best out of the trade a couple years back. East Bench
Zydrunas Ilgauskas 3rd Selection

Chris Bosh 1st Selection

D-Wade last year, now Chris Bosh this year. Was shocked and suprised when he got the call saying he was selected. Has carried Toronto for the majority of the year and deserves his chance with the big boys. Averaging 19.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

James' number have been dropping steadily since the off season aquisitions, but found a way to stay in the All Star team. Averaging solid numbers of 19.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Joe Johnson 1st Selection

He left the Suns to be the main guy in the team but ended up doing one better and is now an All Star. Johnson wasnt a heavy favourite among the East coaches with his teams poor record, but the stats tell for themselves. 21.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Another big suprise into the All Star game. He was the Points leader through the first couple months of the season, as the season has worn on the stats have been dropping, but is still good enough for his first All Star game, averaging 23 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
Kirk Hinrich 1st Selection
Out of all the first time selections Hinrichs was probably the most suprising. Averaging 21.2 points, 6.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game, has lead the overacheiving Bulls, has not had the best All Star preperation with the injury to big man Tyson Chandler, but is deserving of an All Star birth.
West Starters 4th Selection

Kevin Garnett 9th Selection

The Big Ticket beats out Tim Duncan at starting power forward, even though his team is performing poorly, Garnett is averaging big numbers with 24.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 blocks per game, hes also making a run at the MVP and Defensive Player Of The Year.

Kobe Bryant 8th Selection

The leagues leading scorer is looking to have a trio of trophies when Sunday is said and done, the Slam Dunk and 3 Point Champion is looking to add to his legend. And with an average of 29 points and 7.5 assists per game you know why.
Baron Davis 3rd Selection

For the first time in a while Baron Davis has had a year without injury. And that has paid dividends for the Warriors. Averaging 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game and the Warriors finally ahve a winning record at All Star Break, largely to Baron Davis.
West Bench
Marcus Camby 1st Selection

Tim Duncan 8th Selection

Only the second time Tim Duncan has started on the bench in an All Star Game. Was out voted by Garnett, but his stats and team record firmly favours Duncan, averaging 26.2 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, you would have thought Duncan had the power forward spot seun up.
Lamar Odom 1st Selection

Another suprise choice by the Wests coaches. Odom has joined forces with Bryant and together have had a fruitful partnership so far. Odoms averaging career highs of 16.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, clearly living off the double teams forced by Kobe.
Ray Allen 6th Selection

Allens holding things down without much luck down in Seattle, the Sonics have a poor season in comparision to last years success and the change of coaches havent helped much either. Allens average of 24.4 points, 5.8 boards and 5.4 assists drew the coaches attentions.
Steve Nash 4th Selection

Last years MVP is making the best of it, with Amare Stoudemire rejoining the team, Nashs assist rate has gone up again, but not as high as it was the year before. Averaging 21.5 points and 8.8 assists per game is All Star callaber year, no matter who you are.
