Yeah, it should pick up at least for a bit. Would be a total ghost town if not for the merger of dynasties and associations.

Unfortunately, everyone seems to be going through times in which time is scarce, which doesn't give much room to comment or post updates to their stories. That's just how life is. :(

For sure. The last revamp of the Forum structure has worked out pretty well so far, basically we were adhering to a format that was no longer ideal/relevant (and in some cases, probably not a great idea in the first place).

Part of it also that with the limited time we might have we might work on our own Associations but not have the time to look at anybody else's. That doesn't help matters for state of forums either

the lockout is probably part of the reason.

I think NBA2K12 is still the main reason. Why bother playing 2k11 when in 11 days you can get 2k12 and make an association there.

Tried Fantasy draft in season mode in 2K11 for the first time I think. Without realizing it, put together a very good defensive team.

C - Camby/Ibaka
F - Garnett/Haslem/R Evans
F - Pierce/CJ Miles/Korver
G - Wade/McGrady/Sefolosha
G - Hinrich/Barea/E Watson

Played one game, beat the Heat (I'm BOS) who have Rose and Boozer 115-100. Currently 9-5, will play Kobe and the Rockets next.

I've been enjoying my new atlanta dynasty, i think we're in the fith year with live 07. Horford is a power player, inside stopper and inside scorer and we had to resign him last season. The furthest we've ever gotten was to the 2nd round in a lost to the new york knicks.

We have a couple younger point gaurds to back up Hinrich. I've trained Jamal crawford, Kirk hinrich and even Joey Graham. And they improved nicely, i've always had an assistant head coach with at least a b- development grade. Our last three drafts have been at least strong.

In the draft last year we drafted a 6'7 leaping shooting gaurd with our 2nd pick in a strong draft. Our starting center and our back up center have shot blocking stats of 78 or better. Horford's rebounding is at least 98 for each rebounding skill. We have Manny Harris, cpu great shooter shooting gaurd in Fitzpatrick as the third stringer, he's a young Michael Jordan, except, that he can't play defense and is a very poor free throw shooter.

But his midrange and three point stats reflect that of Jordan. I think he's 22, 23 or so, i forgot. We were going to release Joe Johnson during his contract year because he wanted 73 million. But i decided to resign him so we'd have a better chance at at least going to an nba championship.

But in his next contract year, we'll definitely release him after the season in order to free some cap. Manny Harris's contract is up this year, i'd like to keep him so i can build his abilities, so many shooting gaurds on our team.

Just started with a Rockets dynasty (again), now using the NLSC 08-09 rosters. Goddamit, it's so strong! And, I got Melo from Denver for World Peace and Battier. Won the championship against Boston in a knockout-type playoffs. Been training Landry in offense and D and Melo in D.

Line-up:
C- Yao/Hill (rookie)
PF- Scola/Landry/Hayes
SF- Melo/James White/(rookie)
SG- T-Mac/Brent Barry
PG- Brooks/ Lowry

Started my first sim association yesterday with some rosters I made. I picked Phoenix because I wanted a rebuilding situation and that's what I got. After a 3-12 start, I started making deals and by the halfway point, I traded Nash and Gortat for Chris Bosh. We went on to finish the season with a dismal 25-57 record, as Bosh tore his MCL after just a dozen games with us. Nash retired with a ring though.

The plan was to rebuild around Bosh, but after his injury, we were in need of a shakeup. After drafting a pair of point guards (I seize about 3 first rounders per draft), I decided Brooks was expendable, so I sign-and-traded him with Jared Dudley and one of my rookies for Roy, Oden, Batum and their next first rounder in an epic blockbuster. I then used my cap space from Carter's expiring to re-sign Carter, sign Ilyasova and also extend Nic Batum for the MLE. With an injured Bosh (who played like the last 30 games), we finished season #2 28-54, with Ty Lawson leading the Nuggets to their first title.

I had four first round picks in the draft, which I consolidated into picks 4-6. I drafted another pair of point guards (I signed Hinrich to start, as I traded one of my rookies, and the other is a bust) and diamond in the rough SG Gerald Nixon. In the second consecutive bad draft, no rookies had any potential or outstanding ratings. I had higher hopes for season three, as Hinrich - Roy - Batum - Bosh - Oden was my dream Blazers starting five two years ago. We ended up finishing 32-50. Ilyasova averaged 15/8 off the bench to win most improved and sixth man though. Jimmer, Z-Bo and finals MVP Brook Lopez led the Nets to the NBA title, dethroning the Nuggets in 7 games.

Bosh opted out of his last year, and I took the risk of letting him walk. I also let Roy walk. With their contracts off the books, I had a lot of cap. I also had more picks, and ended up trading four rookies and sophomores for Jerryd Bayless to be my starting two. In an homage to the Suns' rebuild in the early-to-mid '00s, I signed now all-star PG Brandon Jennings as the final piece. The remaining cap space was used on Andrea Bargnani (needed a replacement for Bosh), Rashard Lewis, and a bunch of other veterans and scrub/role players to shore up the roster. Also, Gentry retired so Scott Skiles returns as Suns coach.

Bayless was unsatisfied with his 33 MPG and I wasn't going to raise his role to star (his overall shot up 6 points when switched to SG) so he was packaged with Toney Douglas and Ilyasova for Millsap, Ellington, and their first rounder. Despite this, our chemistry has shot up thanks to an incredibly successful season. With our new look team, we win 61 games, good for the best record in the league. Jennings and Oden make ASG and all-NBA third team.

2014-15 Phoenix Suns [61-21]

Brandon Jennings (89)
Wayne Ellington (70)
Nicolas Batum (79)
Paul Millsap (82)

Jennings is a beast!

Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

Thu Oct 13, 2011 7:12 am

He is. Unfortunately, we were shockingly swept in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who made it all the way to the WCF. Blake Griffin and the Clippers won the 2014 title. After finishing with the league's best record, we had the worst playoff performance. On the bright side, we had three lottery picks (five total first rounders).

The projected #1 overall SG slipped to me at 3, so I took him. I took a pair of SF's and PG's and drafted a scrub PF in the second round. Turns out the SG looks like a star (81 overall already!). The SF I took at #6 is rated 74 and is promising, while the rest are D-League/IR/trade fodder. I spent a lot of my MLE on Aldrich and Bargnani go. After a slow start to the season, we finished 54-28, getting the 2nd seed. Jennings and Oden were once again named to the all-star team. Unfortunately, we once again lost in the first round, this time falling in 7 to the Jazz. Melo led the Cavs to the 2015 title.

With Batum pursuing free agency on the heels of consecutive playoff embarrassments, it may be time for another shake-up in the valley of the Sun.

Why can't you let go of the Blazers?

Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

Oden, Batum and Salim Stoudamire are the three guys I'm always pursuing. Add Anthony "Meal Ticket" Randolph to the list as well.

Next season we fielded more or less the same roster, with a promising rookie SF taking Batum's spot and recovered from a slow start to finish 46-36. We lost in the first round yet again though (much like the Blazers). Despite our team's lack of success, Jennings developed into one a superstar and made the All-NBA First team. I believe LeBron and the Jazz ended up winning the '16 title.

That offseason, Oden left the team, and was replaced by Al Horford and other role players. The now perennial all-star left a void in the team, and it was a lottery year from the start. Despite his averages of 22/5/7, I dealt Jennings for a pick, a couple bench guys, the #2 pick in the last draft: a five-star rated Center. We ended up winning like 35 games. Losing track of the champions at this point but I think Minnesota took it in 2017.

After shoring up the roster with rookies, it looked like another rebuilding year in Phoenix. It wasn't to be however, as injuries were overcame and that star SG I drafted a few years ago (Keith Robinson) has developed into a star, thanks to those potential training camps. He led the league in scoring, and with a 45-37 record, we qualified in the playoffs and even made the second round! We got ousted in 5 and some team probably consisting of mostly generics won the 2018 'ship.

The following season, we missed the playoffs for literally no reason at all. Sim engine just didn't like us and we went 40-42, despite Robinson and that center (Barry Kern I think) making the all-star team. My strategy of building through the draft has led to just four playoff appearances in eight years, and only one series win. Our current roster:

Jrue Holiday (79)/some PG (62)/Ridnour (60)
Keith Robinson (94)/Some SG (75)/Some SG (65)
some SF I drafted (78)/Rudy Gay (72)/some SF (64)
Al Horford (72)/third year PF (71)/some 2nd round PF (54)
Barry Kern (85)/Cole Aldrich (65)/Marc Gasol (62)

How come you easily acquired first round draft picks?

Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

Sat Oct 15, 2011 12:27 am

There's a glitch or at least a quirk in 2K12 where teams are willing to give their draft picks up extremely easy in a deal they like. Whenever I do trade finder, I pick the best offer, then also have the other team give me its next two first rounders. Even if it's like Frye for Luke Harangody + 2 firsts, they should accept.

...or collecting 2nd round picks then giving out 3 or 4 2nd round picks in exchange for a 1st round pick.

I just love the 'action' shot on this one.

Pretty much summed up the Finals at that point, both PG's carrying their team.
Lasted to a game seven. Felt bad for the Lakers (in a videogame sense lol) since their starting defensive C (Scott) got injured and out for the Finals as we got back our starting SF (Gabe).

Trying to get to the 2030s with a Dallas association. We repeated in 2012 beating Miami once again in 6, but now we face league medicor again as the Heat finally won the title least year. Nick Young had a robbed All-Star season where he averaged 22 PPG & 4 ASTS, the same year the Wiard's PF got Rookie of The Year with 15 PPG & 9 RPG.

Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

Still with my 6'7 PG, most of the way through my 4th season, I have a 99 rating, I'm averaging 40.3ppg,6.6rpg,5.1apg,3.3spg,1.1bpg,55FG%,49-3P%,85FT%, while leading the Thunder to a 64-13 record so far. I've now scored 90 and 89 points in two separate games with 11 steals in each game.

HOF time. I'm scared.
