Bryant out against Heat

Kobe Bryant will miss the Christmas Day match-up against the HEAT due to a sore ankle. Bryant could miss up to 2 weeks.
Bryant is the league's 4th leading scorer with over 26 points per game. The Lakers are currently leading the Western conference, while the HEAT have the best record in the league, being the only team to have less then 10 losses.

Hahaa.

The latest rumor on the nba.com page in 2k11 was Rose demanding a trade from Chicago.

(Even though he's injured)

Kobe Bryant was out, but Lamar Odom took over. He scored a season-high 32, just 2 points shy of his career high of 34, and carried the Lakers over the HEAT on Christmas Day in a high-scoring affair, 122-118. Both teams shot 52% from the field.
LeBron James scored 37 points and added 8 assists, going 17-19 from the foul line. The HEAT got a career-high 33 points from Kyle Korver, but it wasn't enough.
The Lakers started off more focused and ready, jumping out to an early 8-2 lead. The HEAT rallied back and eventually tied the game at 26. But LeBron James picked up his 2nd foul and the Lakers out-scored the HEAT 7-2 to finish the quarter.
Early in the third, LeBron picked up his third and the Lakers jumped out to a 11-point lead. Behind Kyle Korver's 8 straight points the HEAT had narrowed the lead to 8 by halftime. Kyle Korver scored 14 points in the third quarter, going 3-4 from deep. The HEAT outscored LA by 6 and were back in it heading to the fourth.
The high-scoring offense returned as both teams couldn't miss early in the fourth. LeBron scored 6 straight and the HEAT took their first lead of the game 110-108. After it, LeBron went cold and missed 3 straight shots. Lamar Odom couldn't miss however and put together a mini-run himself. He made his third 3-pointer of the night and put the Lakers up 121-118.
After a time-out, Kyle Korver took a deep three, but it rolled off the rim. Derek Fisher would make 1 of 2 from the stripe to ice the game. Kyle Korver took another three, Shannon Brown jumped into him and Korver fell down, but no foul was called. It wouldn't have helped, as he missed.

I'm proud of our guys, especially Kyle. Lamar was just too much tonight. We knew it wouldn't be easy, even if Kobe is out. LA is a very deep team.

They got him for Vujacic. They also got a 2nd rounder, so a good deal for them. They went to Bell on three straight possessions, nothing but net.
Dirk had 34 too. He and Kidd killed me.

A great deal for them, I think Bell can get his own shots right?

Anthony averaged 8.3 rebounds this week, including a 14-rebound game in my loss to the Mavericks. He has definitely exceeded my expectations of him for this season. His averages are very modest, career highs though (points and rebounds, not blocks).
I also bumped his minutes to 32 from 25.

Might have to start a Joel Challenge.
Mon Jan 03, 2011 12:33 am
Joel's a very underrated player !
I never knew how much of a decent defender he was till he locked down Amare at the garden the other week.
Mon Jan 03, 2011 12:53 am
Yeah, he was very impressive in that game.
LeBron gave him the nickname 'closer' when they played the Rockets, because he was 4-4 in the final 30+ seconds from the line after missing his first 2 early in the game, so he's clutch offensively.

Lebron is beasting . . and love the Odom game

Please don't, it's an unique thing by The X in "Darko Challenge" and I really hope it'll stay that way

It won't be as cool anymore if everyone started doing it
Mon Jan 03, 2011 4:22 am
Yeah I know, but I'm setting out challenges for him myself. A double-double is my goal before the season is done.

The first MVP rankings came out. On the main page, there was the article - 'James, Wade, Bosh - who is MVP?'. I thought it was cool, like who is the real MVP of my team. But as I checked it out, they were #1, #2 and #3. Kobe was #4 and Pau Gasol #5.

LeBron James had a season-high 52 points, with 12 assists and 11 rebounds, one of the best individual performances in NBA history, but it wasn't enough as the Rockets were able to beat the HEAT in Houston 110-107.
In the first half, the Rockets shot 58% from the floor and led by as many as 12. Kevin Martin had 26 points in the first half, including 3-4 from downtown. The HEAT got 32 points and 6 assists in the first half from LeBron James, but were trailing by 4, 66-62.
In the third, both team buckled down defensively. The Rockets started the 3rd quarter shooting 3-17 from the floor. Yao Ming had 2 of those field goals. He was 5-7 from the floor, but picked up his 5th foul in the third quarter.
After a low-scoring third, teams picked things back up in the final frame. Behind LeBron James, the HEAT stayed in the game. With 1.27 to go, he found Jerry Stackhouse for a lay-up and-1, which tied the game at 104.
After LeBron James made 2 free throws, the HEAT held a 107-106 lead. Aaron Brooks would drive to the rim on the next possession for a tough bucket. HEAT called time-out, but LeBron James turned the ball over. Kevin Martin was fouled and he made both shots. As a team, the Rockets were 17/17 in the 2nd half from the line and 23/25 for the game.
Kyle Korver missed the potential game-tying shot, Chris Bosh grabbed the offensive board, but Kevin Martin was there for the steal. The clock would run out.

"LeBron was just phenomenal. But the rest of the team didn't follow. Plus, our execution down the stretch wasn't the best."
