Collison, Ariza to highlight four-team, five player trade![]()
August 10, 2010 - Trevor Ariza was sent to the New Orleans Hornets
and Darren Collison to the Indiana Pacers in a four-team, five-player trade.
In the trade, the Houston Rockets sent Ariza to the Hornets, who in turn sent Collison
to the Pacers, Hornets shipped also Darius Songaila and their second-round
draft pick next year to the Rockets.
The Pacers sent Troy Murphy to the New Jersey Nets. And the Nets sent
Courtney Lee to the Rockets.
For the Hornets, the addition of Ariza gives them a young, athletic wing entering his
prime. Hornets now have two point guard on their roster, veteran Andre Miller
and Chris Paul, so this trade is a bit good for them.
With the Nets, getting almost zero from the free agency now got a prolific bigman
and also on the last year of his contract, which could make him an important trading
chip for the Nets at the 2011 trade deadline.
Pacers now got their future point of their future. Collision played a huge role for the
Hornets as a backup for the All-Star guard Paul. "I think it helps out tremendously,"
Pacers president Larry Bird said. "I think this was the piece that we needed.
The vision I have for this franchise is to get the core group up and ready to go as
quick as we can, and this piece here will accelerate everything."
On a separate deal, Hornets traded Julian Wright for Raptors' guard
Marco Belinelli.Nuggets acquired Mayberry, sends Butch to Nets![]()

August 10, 2010 - The Oklahoma City Thunder traded their guard Thabo Sefolosha in exchange
for Marcin Gortat of the Orlando Magic.
The logjam of the shooting guard position for the Thunder was somehow solved by
this move, Sefolosha, who stepped down from starter to sixth man because of the
arrival of Sasha Vujacic was reportedly asked for trade during the off-season
and the management solved it right away. They acquired Gortat which will bring much
rebounding and post defense to the team. While for the Magic, this move will surely
boost their defensive skills, Robin Lopez will be a backup for Dwight Howard
now.Dooling to Rockets, Tirieux and Hill to Nets![]()

play behind Devin Harris.
Dooling averaged 4.6 points in his last season with the New Jersey Nets and maybe waived
by the Rockets.Rookie Koukoulis heads to Bobcats for Ratliff and Hayward![]()
August 10, 2010 - Orlando Magic send their rookie George Koukolis
to the Charlotte Bobcats while Theo Ratliff and rookie Lazar Hayward will
