Yep, one of the reasons to do the trade was moving Rashard to SF to take advantage of his long shooting. :)

If you regard that Odom is actually not a starter and Hedo could be it's not even that crazy.

excuse me...?
mate, you realize that the only reason why Odom aint starting for the Lakers is cause they want to start Bynum and not end up with a crowded frontcourt....Odom is so versatile that he can come in for any position, thats why he isn't starting for the Lakers, not because he is not capable..

Odom>Turkoglu any day....

just a question, wouldn't Rashard be better matched up against interior defenders while he is outside shooting the ball? they can't keep up with him....just my theory, i could be wrong

Yeah, use him as SF but change the defensive matchups in the pause menu... (I think it can be done, not sure) :)

lol alright, but i don't think you can change who guards him from the cpu though, maybe :D

anyhow, Odom is a terrific player so great job acquiring him, although now your team might get a bit boring since i'm sure you can't lose many (if any) games now...

Like I said I was kidding that it would be a fair deal.

But I think you probably also underestimate Turkoglu. His rating in the game is 85 in my Association right now and Odom is just a few points higher. They are both 30 years old. ( Happy birthday @ Lamar Odom! (Y) )
Turkoglu can play many positions as well and >>> Ariza/Walton.

About the other comments, getting your PF to take position at the three point line when you go to a small line-up or play with Rashard Lewis for instance, or want to stretch the defence, is there a specific play you can call to get him to do that?

i was making references to real life, as using ratings from a video game is simply too non-realistic. Ratings of players depends on the roster maker so there are always differences here and there. and er...Lamar's bday is in november.... :P

Turkoglu cant play PF or C right? Odom thrives in those positions, as well as being a guard or forward :P

That is also why I don't think the deal would be fair. Because of the real life comparison.

I'm not sure about my roster but I googled for the nba 2k ratings before checking my own and Turkoglu is not spectacularly high in mine. And not overrated either, but that's just my opinion. I think he's better than he appears to be, whereas Odom appears to be better than he is. I just looked at their post-season stats, and Turkoglu's numbers are at least equally impressive as Odom's. And they get better as the games get more important.

Lol @ the birthday screw-up. It says this on nba.com: Born: 06.11.1979
I always thought Americans put the month first then day then year. :cheeky:

Turkoglu is "Born: Mar 19, 1979", they're not consistent.

You're right that he isn't great at playing PF. But he has played it.
But because Odom is such a force in the paint it would be a bad trade. The front court trio is just too nice to give up.

Yeah there's specific plays for that, one of them is the PF going to the baseline and taking the 3.

And thanks to both for the replies, this is the kind of feedback I need when I try to make a trade :D

I would have tried to get Shawn Marion. He would have fit in much better with your offense, but Lamar still fits in good. I just think of Marion as a faster and quicker player, in comparison to Odom.

meh, i look at real life numbers and performances to determine if a player is good or not, even if it's for the game.
and i just have to defend Odom here, his numbers are almost same as Turkoglu's numbers, but you gotta consider this...
1. Magic put the ball in Turkoglu's hands to make plays most of the time, where as for Odom, Kobe is in control of the ball
2. Odom is coming off the bench and is playing significantly less minutes then Turkoglu...(even when Bynum has foul trouble and stuff, Odom still isn't playing as much minutes)
3. Odom is underrated by most people...

:P

That actually wouldn't be too bad of an idea. Hedo Turkoglu and Courtney Lee for Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier.

Wow if you can get away with that that would be so good. McGrady still has some talent and Battier is an awesome defender and can hit three's.

Well that would be a good deal for the Rockets in real life. McGrady is old and injured. All he does now is shoot jump shots. Turkoglu is in his prime.

not exactly as McGrady's contract is in it's last year and once it's out of the way, the Rockets can be big in the FA class of '10 XD

If you trade Hedo, it's not good but he has an option, I played before and he always wants to test free agent. May be Bogut.
