Josh Cruzerr fired from the Warriors; gets new contract in Cleveland

Image

With some drama-related situation in the front office, Josh Cruzerr has been fired as the headcoach of the Warriors. It appears that the staff has had problems with him and have let him go for a minimal fee. However, a few moments later, the man quickly got a new contract at the Cavaliers, which means, he will debute as the new headcoach in the game against Memphis.

So, what actually wanted me to go back to Cleveland?

1. Last association, I felt terrible when my saves were gone, and I know, that the current team that they have, I can get them back to the playoffs.
2. Kyrie Irving. Nothing else. O, and Stephen Jackson doesn`t hurt.
3. The fantastic pictures that Thierry made for meh :P

Grizzlies @ Cavaliers

Cruzerr debut as a headcoach; win by 3

Image

With the Cavaliers having a new coach, and that coach being the reason why the Warriors are first in the Western Conference, the fans were really confident, though their opponent was last years surprise attack - Memphis Grizzlies. Still, both teams kept it interesting from the very start.

As Cruzerr focused on shooting, his team was dominated in points in the paint. But it wasn`t really a trouble, as everybody came up with huge plays. The bench was productive, but Memphis had the same deal. Their team was lead by Michael Conley and Rudy Gay, which is no surprise, but nobody was actually leading the Cavaliers. Antawn Jamison and Stephen Jackson were playing well, but there was no certain guy who could lift them up in the end.

However, when forth quarter came up, it was all Kyrie Irving hour. He quickly started dominating, hitting layups left and right. Also, White and Maxiell came up with some monster dunks to take a slight lead. But the TO problem was a bit much, as Conley made a key steal, to get the game to 1. Kyrie Irving was sent to the line, hitting 2 free-throws to win it. In the end, with four seconds left on the clock, Rudy Gay was played for a tremendously good three, which missed, and ended the game 66-63, with the Cavs new headcoach, debuting with a win.

Thanks, Good to be back. :P

Armon Johnson and Greg Oden for Okur and a `12 first round pick.

Then, they went to the Hornets, and got Chris Kaman and Xavier Henry for Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford.

I am looking for SG to trade for, but I don`t feel like it is a choice at this moment.

If you're happy to rebuild, I would trade Antawn Jamison. He is quite old and worth a bit still, so if a DeRozan type young guard is up for grabs go for it. Plus you can start Tristan Thompson who is a beast.

Heat starters do their work; dominate the Cavs

Image

One of the more waited matchups in the league, King James and his brave knights against the Cavaliers. With Cleveland coming off a good win, Miami however were looking to win their ninth victory in a row. However, right from the start, Heat quickly showed what they wanted to do.

Like last game, Cavaliers were getting dominated in the inside, however, rebounding was a great part for them. They tried to keep the game tight at first, but a lot of turnovers and missed shots gave players like Chalmers, Wade and LeBron great opportunities to score. Terrico White did come up with a clutch three at the end of the first, but going to the second, they lost all momentum. More and more turnovers were made by the Cavaliers backcourt, and it quickly showed on the score line, as they were losing by 22 at somepoint. Luckily, a shining rookie called Kyrie Irving stepped up, to decrease the lead. Yes, decrease it, not make it positive. He showed some great plays against the Heat defense, and made them furious at somepoint.

But getting in to the forth quarter, the winner was even more obvious. LeBron and co. quickly stepped up their game, and killed it, as the game ended 76-56.

Top Scorers:
CAVALIERS

K.Irving 19 PTS 4 REB 3 AST 1 BLK 4 TO

A new Shooting Guard coming to Cleveland?

With the lack of a strong Shooting Guards play in Cleveland, there are rumors floating around about 3 possible trades.

1.With the Nets just now have traded for Dahntay Jones, Marshon Brooks is a name that is under heavy inspection from the Cleveland fans. They are willing to offer Alonso Gee and Terrico White + a `12 2nd round pick for Marshon Brooks and Sundiata Gaines. This will take down the load of Point Guards in the Nets and will get a great young Shooting Guard for the Cavaliers.

Cavs will get: Sundiata Gaines and Marshon Brooks
Nets will get: Alonso Gee, Terrico White + `12 2nd round pick

2.Landry Fields has been benched behind the talented Iman Shumpert and he is not liking it one bit. For Cleveland, they offer yet again: Alonso Gee and Terrico White for Landry Fields and the undrafted PG from Harward, Jeremy Lin. Yet again, the Cavaliers can get a very talented Shooting Guard, and help the Knicks from their front-court mess, and add a proper backup for Carmelo. Note: He is the 57 OVR rated Lin, not the 75 one.

Cavs will get: Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields
Knicks will get: Alonso Gee and Terrico White

3. With the Rockets trading Luis Scola, they need a Power Forward to help them out. This time, Cavaliers have suggest to trade Antawn Jamison, Terrico White + a `13 1st round pick for Terrence Williams and Thabeet. This will get a good PF for the Rockets, and also help out the Cavaliers with their Shooting Guard issues.

Cavs will get: Hasheem Thabeet and Terrence Williams
Rockets will get: Terrico White, Antawn Jamison + `13 1st round pick

However, with a lot of trade rumors everywhere, there is no certain deal in the eyes.

don't like any of them....

obviously the first one is the best since Marshon Brooks is a good rookie...but it looks too unbalanced. just because the Nets have Jones shouldn't make Brooks expendable...Brooks > Jones

also typo on the 2nd trade..."Nets get" vs "Knicks get"
...this one seems a bit fair

3rd trade...Thabeet and T-Will are junk....giving up a 1st rounder is too much for those two

Now I deleted my original comment and I ... ffs, anyway.

Can`t get Brown, Rip injured, taking Brown would be too much.

Didn`t see KJ posting there. WHAT UP? :P

Anyway, T-Will as Junk? May I have to remind what he did in the association with Cavs, the one I had before? He was straight killing it.

If I am completely honest, I would like to get DeRozan out YOU KNOW MY LOVE FOR HIM! of the trades, but that is just straight damn near impossible.

I will do a trade before the Rookies vs Sophomores, so we shall have 3 games between that (Raptors, Hawks, Timberwolves).

I kept Gee and he was balling. Dropped 50 against Miami, averaged like 16 points or so. Didn't re-sign, but didn't get any offers, so he came back.

Out of those deals, I'd get Brooks.

Williams is ok in 2k12, maybe a bit one-dimensional but very athletic and fast. Not a good shooter on my roster but he is a fighter and solid rebounder.

I go for marshon brooks as trade with the nets. Landry fields is inconsistent for me in 2k and lin is still 57. :) As for the rockets trade, I may be hesitant in trading jamison due to his expiring contract in which you can still use for a better deal in the offseason (and of course nice salary cap space) :D

Bargnani and Johnson do their thing; win over the Cavs

Image

With both Toronto and the Cavaliers fighting for a lower seed, everybody in the arena knew that this would be a battle for the fame and glory. However, the start of the whole thing was quite the opposite.

Both teams didn`t score a point for 5 minutes, and the fans quickly got bored. However, with Terrico White doing a amazing dunk, the game quickly caught fire, and both teams were neck-and-neck. There really wasn´t a clear winner in the first half, but going in for the second, you knew which team wanted it more. Andrea Bargnani started dominated quickly and Wesley Johnson was right behind him. The two Raptors lead the way in scoring completely, outscoring everyone. Nobody from the Cavs defense had a chance to stop them, and with Calderon dishing out perfect assists, the game was well in the bag.

Cleveland tried to make a comeback in the last quarter, but it wasn`t enough, as Toronto went home with a 80-71 victory.

J-Smoove comes up late; Cavs lose their second

Image

With the loss against the Raptors, Cavaliers have dropped to the ninth seed. They are working hard to win it, but there isn`t any weak opponents coming up yet. However, the Hawks were determined to secure their playoff spot, with Tracy McGrady coming back to the starting lineup.

However, it was a totally different story. The Cavs took the lead early and help their own. They did not have a leader, but the whole bench was helping out the starters in the scoring and rebounding department. The Hawks however were dependent on their key scorers, Smith and McGrady, as they didn`t back down, they held their own and played furious attacking basketball. Gibson hit a late three in the end of the second, and a quick two right at the start of the third, making the game double digits. Hawks tried to rally back, but the fact that Joe Johnson missed a lot of shots, really hurt them. However, at the middle of the forth, it was a neck-and-neck game, as both teams were trying to edge out.

Cavaliers hit a clutch three, by playing Jamison to a really good shot. However, Johnson played key part in taking a lead, as his shot tied it up. Now, with a minute left on the clock, Tracy went up for a fadeaway two, but missed it. Smith however came up with a huge putback. 20.4 seconds was left on the clock, and the Cavaliers were looking for a three to win it. However, J-Smoove stole the ball from Irving, and went to a huge dunk, also hitting from the line. Stephen Jackson did make a clutch two in the end, but it wasn`t enough, as the Hawks won the game 69-66.

Cavaliers @ Wolves + Trade!

Yes, it is official. With the rumors gone, and the talks are over, the Cavaliers have finally secured a perfect Shooting Guard, who can fix their troubles. Brooks, the young rookie, feels confident that his skills will bring the Cavaliers a better chance to gain a playoff seed. "I think that uhm... with me, the team has a good starting base now, and with 3 rookies leading a team, we defo might make a huge run in the playoffs."

With him and Sundiata Gaines gone, the Cavaliers have given the Nets both Alonso Gee, Terrico White and a 2013 First Round pick.

Both of these players will debut for the Cavaliers on the next game, against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Brooks debut ends up with a career high in points; Cavaliers snap the losing streak

Image

With one day left before the Rookie Showcase, Cavaliers had a pretty tough opponent to face. They are second in the Western Conference, believe it or not. The Wolves have had a lot of trades going around, and they have been rebuilding, but in the mix of it all, they are still a tough team to beat. However, the Cavaliers had a lot of positives before the game. Marshon Brooks was going to make his debut, and with him, they have the trio of the best Rookies. However, Brooks is not playing in the Rookies game, so he has to step up today.

And with him, the whole team did. Right from the start, Cavaliers played tough defense with some really hard to guard offense. They didn`t miss any threes, and with Jamison left open, he hit 3 of his own aswell. However, the two starting rookies showed their talent, as Minnesota had a tough time guarding them. While Irving was scoring well, Brooks had already scored his career high in the league. Arenas tried to make a late forth quarter run, with scoring 20 of his own, but it was not enough, as most players like Kevin Love and Michael Beasley, did not show up to play.

In the end, it was one-sided, and the game finished 86-67

That's the one thing I wish he had irl. Idk about that trade the pick could be a good one at the rate you're going and Gee is way overrated in this game (he's way too good), but Brooks is a proven player so it could go either way. It's a good experiment (Y)

First Look: Seems the team is more of a score-inside the paint team, than shooting. Not a lot of speed, but we can see a lot of dunks and blocks by this team

Team Leader: Safe to say that this team is lead by the number one picks, John Wall and Blake Griffin. With other players being right behind him, some players like DeMarcus Cousins and Evan Turner can take charge of the game and change it dramatically.

Stats: Highest points per game - John Wall 15.2 PPG
Highest rebounds per game - Blake Griffin 7.8 RPG
Highest assists per game - John Wall 4.4 APG
Highest steals per game - John Wall 1.5 SPG

Surprises:The absense of Wesley Johnson is a bit sad.

First Look: A lot of athleticism on this team, which means- a lot of dunking. We are in for a show, as a lot of great dunkers are in this squad, with the likes of Leonard, Shumpert and Faried.

Team Leader: A sure leader is hard to find, but the biggest threat the sophomores could have is Kemba Walker and Kyrie Irving going off in a hurry.

Stats: Highest points per game - Kyrie Irving 11.9 PPG
Highest rebounds per game - Kawhi Leonard 3.5 RPG
Highest assists per game - Kyrie Irving 3.4 APG
Highest steals per game - Iman Shumpert 1.4 SPG

Surprises: Rubio, Burks and Knight are all out with injuries. Having one of them in would certainly spice things up

Sophomores dominate the Rookies; Turner goes wild

Image

All-Star weekend. One day, where everybody can relax, join the festivities and have fun. But some of the players get no break, as they are selected for two of the most intense games ever, the East vs West, and the Rookies vs Sophomores games. It was clear; the Rookies came to have fun, while the Sophomores took it so serious.

Right from the start, it was pretty intense. The Rookies wanted to show their skills, with the Sophomores also playing well. Blake and Wall were showing some skill, while Irving and Shumpert did not leave the crowd quiet. However, at somepoint, the rookies had no chance. Sophomores one year maby a bit too much of a experience difference for them. Evan Turner took over the game completely and just dominated it, there was no chance for the Rookies to recover.

In the end, it was a blowout, but a good fun game, as it did end 121-75.

Highest steals per game - Monta Ellis 2.0 SPG (first in the league)

Surprises:
  • Players like Westbrook, Nash not making the cut.
  • Al Jefferson and DeMarcus Cousins making the cut. Jefferson is a first timer and starting

Interesting lineup I was surprised though that Rondo didn't make the cut as he is a regular all-star
