Amar'e Stoudemire surely lived up to his newly signed contract with the New York Knicks after a heroic game winning buzzer beater over Yao Ming to defeat the Houston Rockets 92-90.
Amar'e Stoudemire was very efficient from the floor going for 28 points off 12-16 shooting to go with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and a steal. Stoudemire was being dominated in the low post by Yao Ming in the first quarter however as the second quarter began, Stoudemire looked like a man possessed slamming down numerous shots over the 7"6' center.
Yao Ming as stated prior began the game dominant however slowed down through the second half. Yao Ming had 24 points off 10-14 shooting and was consistently using his obvious height advantage all game in the post against the smaller Knicks big men such as Ronny Turiaf and Amar'e Stoudemire. Kevin Martin was also efficient going for 20 points off 7-14 shooting and 6-6 from the free throw line.
For the Knicks, Anthony Randolph had 10 points, Danilo Gallinari and Andy Rautins had 13 points and 10 points respectively off the bench. Rautins was very efficient scoring his 10 points off 3-5 3 pointers to go along with one 4-point play after a foul by Aaron Brooks. Raymond Felton had 7 points and 9 assists, yet again doing his job to perfection. For the Rockets, Aaron Brooks had 17, Shane Battier had 12 and Luis Scola had 9 points to go with 11 rebounds.
The New York Knicks tomorrow night face the 2-2 Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas.![]()
