Hi Kurt,

I also had that thought, why did you know! ROFLMAO... :) :) :)

Not sure a GM would use ROFLMAO and all that good stuff, but it adds funny things to the story. (Y)

Good to see the winning has finally picked up. Hope you find a great C to back up the bust.

Wolves takes down Cats in OT

After their impressive win against the Atlanta Hawks, the Wolves continues to attack off road after visiting the Bobcats. Wolves started game strong with a big 8-0 run from the Cats that put the on the lead by the end of the first half. Both AI and Wesley Johnson put so much effort at the second half but Gerald Wallace is one tough cookie that put the Cats to a lead at 3rd Quarter but that didn't let the Wolves get down and finishes off 4th Quarter to a tie after Wesley Johnson's successful jump shot at final seconds. Overtime turned out to be a different story as the Wolves came up strong in front court which leaded by Darko Milicic and Channing Frye. At the end, the Wolves won the game, 128-124.

Team Leaders:
Points: Wesley Johnson - 30 points, Allen Iverson - 27 points / Stephen Johnson - 34 points, Gerald Wallace - 32 points
Rebounds: Wesley Johnson - 10 rebounds / Gerald Wallace - 13 rebounds
Assits: Jonny Flynn - 8 assits / Shaun Livingston - 9 assits

Wolves tough Losses to Los Angeles

The Wolves returned home with a plan of continuing their winnings but it just not their luck this week after losing to both of the LA teams, Los Angeles Clippers and the defending champions, Lakers. Once again, the Wolves had a good start on both teams, first they had a nice run from the Clips while Kobe is having a bad start for the Lakers after failing baskets. With the Wolves getting the good start, they just turned their momentum down by the second half due to fatigue that let the cursed Clippers get a big run at the 3rd quarter which leaded by Baron Davis. The team lost with a very disappointing ending, 104-134, and both Davis and Gordon added so much insult to team after both earned 40 points in the game. Then the next day, they just got fooled by a possum Kobe as he gets back to his best shape at the second half and beat the Wolves, 110-126.

Team Leaders:
Points: Wesley Johnson - 28 points / Baron Davis & Eric Gordon - 40 points
Rebounds: Jonny Flynn - 6 rebounds / Ryan Gomes - 9 rebounds, Blake Griffin - 8 rebounds
Assits: Jonny Flynn - 5 assits / Baron Davis - 16 assits

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 26 points / Kobe Bryant - 36 points
Rebounds: Darko Milicic - 4 rebounds / Pau Gasol - 13 rebounds
Assits: Grant Hill - 6 assits / Kobe Bryant - 10 assits

Wolves ended November with a big trade

Postby lefisto on Sat Sep 11, 2010 11:39 am

Wolves made a big transaction before November ends

David Kahn just announced that the Wolves traded their stars, Corey Brewer and Channing Frye in exchange for Spencer Hawes and the sharpshooter, Jason Kapono which are both going to line in the free agency next year. After Kurt voices out that they really need a strong center to back up Darko Milicic, he had no idea that Kahn had plans to get Spencer Hawes who deserves to be in the starting line up instead of backing up a "bust". Meanwhile the Sixers had interest with the Wolves' shooting guard, Corey Brewer that made them trade their starting center and a good shooter. "I am happy to see Corey Brewer depart to the team. After getting Allen Iverson, he never had enough minutes to show and improve his talent. Corey Brewer is one hell of a guy (yet I can show his "talent" in Live 08 :D) and he deserves to join a team where he really needs to be in. On the other note, I am happy to see Spencer Hawes and Jason Kapono get in the team. After this press con, I am planning to work on Spencer's defenses and try to bring back Kapono's hot shooting at the back court", Kurt Rambis told the media during the afternoon announcement. "This is a very good team and I really want to help bring this team up. I let down the fans last season and now I will try to redeem myself and get back to what I really should be.", Jason Kapono said who will return his jersey number to 24.

Now, the rotation should be look like this:

Center - Darko Milicic | Spencer Hawes | Kosta Koufos
Power Forward - Kevin Love | Nikola Pekovic | Anthony Tolliver
Small Forward - Wesley Johnson | Grant Hill | Lazar Hayward
Shooting Guard - Allen Iverson | Jason Kapono | Wayne Ellington
Point Guard - Jonny Flynn | Sebastian Telfair

Nikola Pekovic Impresses the Wolves' Head C

After dealing issues with his former team, Nikola Pekovic finally debut in NBA during the Wolves' game against the Bobcats and quickly made an impression after helping the team to a lead in the first half with his 12 points contribution. Pekovic also exploded in the Lakers game with his big stops against Gasol and Steve Blake that made Head Coach Kurt Rambis had to look for him. "This guy had some potential and I really starting to like him. Actually, I never had a time to talk with the guy before the Bobcats game and I only had a couple of videos of him but in personal, he is really one talented guy", Kurt Rambis said. Now, the coach gave Pekovic a big role and that is to back up their young Forward, Kevin Love after the departure of Channing Frye who also did a good job in backing up Love. "I am verry happy to zi how our coach put in this pozition and I will never let him down.", Pekovic told the press.

Monthly Recaps

Postby lefisto on Sun Sep 12, 2010 11:49 am

The Wolves has been on the trail behind the league and once again one of the worst team in the NBA. Let's look at the Conference Standings for the month of November:

Image

As usual, some of the top contenders are on the top of the standings with the Mavericks in the #1 spot while the defending champions, the Los Angeles Lakers followed by. The Sacramento Kings are at the bottom of the standings. Remember Wolves trading Martell Webster for the King's 1st draft pick in the early start of the season? We might see the Wolves get the #1 and #2 draft picks of the 2011 draft.

Image

The Wall and Arenas combo is turning out to be great as they put the Wizards to a surprising lead of the Eastern Conference surpassing Miami Heat who is in the fifth spot. Meanwhile 3 of last year's play-off entrants are down below the standings, What just happened?

Good to see Wes Johnson get Rookie of the month. Missed some updates, but in reality, you should've just kept Frye. Kapono is an excellent shooter, but Spencer Hawes is a defensive liability. :|

Thanks for the comments, I do hope AI will help the Wolves get a ring or just the 8th seed in the play-offs.

@Axel: Well, I only want at Hawes is his speed in the game. He's pretty quick compared to Kosta yet he do still have room for improvement in his defense.

Party Turned Out To Disaster

After hearing the news regarding Wesley Johnson winning the Western Rookie of the Month, the whole team gave him a party after practice. Jonny Flynn quickly pulled his friend at the hallway to see a huge feast with to celebrate Wes' recent success.

Jonny Flynn: Congrats man! What a great month for you! I am proud of you!

Wesley Johnson: Thanks! I pulled everything just to help the team. Hope I can continue this and let the team get up.

The two waited for the others to come and both Grant Hill and Kevin Love arrived after a cooling down.

Kevin Love: Yeah! This is what party should be! We better open up this bubblies before Darko arrived, get drunk, and tell again how mad he is when people thought he was Russian.

Grant Hill: Haha! Not again! Where are the others? Let's get this party started.

The other guys arrived along with the Head Coach, Kurt Rambis and started their celebration. Some fans were invited inside to join them and all made a toast to make the team better. As they are partying, drinking champagnes and dancing around the court, Wes noticed something.

Wesley Johnson: Where's AI?

The rookie left the party and starts searching for Allen Iverson and he found him inside their locker room all packed up to leave.

Wesley Johnson: Yo Allen! Where are you going? We are having a blast outside?

Allen Iverson: How can I party? Are you out of your mind? There's nothing to celebrate here? We keep losing and losing and losing and now we are partying like we are the NBA Champions! I don't get it! I better leave and rest in my hotel room and I will come by visit my family tomorrow!

A very disappointed Iverson grab his bag and leaved the locker room and Wesley.

Wesley Johnson: I never thought this will be the Allen Iverson that I have been admired for.

New Month! New Start?

Postby lefisto on Sat Sep 18, 2010 3:27 am

Wolves faces off the Tough Guns of the South

Image

@ Dallas - 114-126 (L)
@ San Antonio - 98 - 117 (L)

The Wolves wanted to start the December right but looks like it is not their luck as they fly off to Texas to face two of the Western Contenders of the League, the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs. The team put a big fight but they still failed to get the win at the end. The new Wolves' Jason Kapono showed some impressions in the team after debuting against Dallas with 18 points but it didn't help the Wolves to get the win against Nowitzki's team after getting dumped out of their tough defense at the end of the quarter. Then they go next to San Antonio with a good start at the first quarter, putting the team behind 10 points but then the Spurs easily get the lead before the second half ends and totally put the Wolves out at the end of the game, all thanks to Tony Parker's big play.

Team Leaders:

Points: Grant Hill - 29 points, Dirk Nowitzki - 37 points
Rebounds: Allen Iverson - 5 rebounds, Dirk Nowitzki/Caron Butler - 7 rebounds
Assits: Darko Milicic - 5 assits, Caron Butler - 10 assits / Jason Kidd - 9 assits

Points: Allen Iverson - 25 points, Tony Parker - 49 points
Rebounds: Kevin Love - 7 rebounds, Tim Duncan - 10 rebounds
Assits: Wesley Johnson - 6 assits / Grant Hill - 5 assits, Tony Parker - 8 assits

Kapono Saves the Day and beats Cavs
Image

Cleveland - 99 - 85 (W)

The Cavaliers are just an ordinary team without the King and the Wolves felt it after they easily beat the Cavs in their first encounter which leaded by Antawn Jamison. Since the start, the Wolves are running wild, having a great lead against Cleveland that also able to give their bench some show off. The whole member of the team made a good play and contributed some points except Darko Milicic who had been focused his defense the whole game. Antawn Jamison pulled out a double-double but then turned out to be a losing effort for him after failing to narrow down the Wolves' lead at the end of the quarter.

Team Leaders:

Points: Allen Iverson - 19 points / Jason Kapono - 18 points, Antawn Jamison - 30 points
Rebounds: Nikola Pekovic - 7 rebounds, Antawn Jamison - 12 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson - 6 assits, Ramon Sessions - 5 assits

Wes delivers and gives a win to the Wolves

Image

@ New York - 116-114 (W)

After their good home game against the Cavs, the Wolves get back on the road to face a strong New York Knicks in their second encounter. The Wolves wanted some payback after their very disappointing home loss against the Knicks. The two teams had a close fight at the first half as both experienced of trailing behind with double digits. Felton came up strong in the point that gave the Wolves the challenge and put AI back to the PG position and let the sharpshooter Jason Kapono work in back court. The fans from Madison Square Garden are all rooting for their team after half time as the Knicks goes for a 8-2 run at the start but unlucky for them that fatigue started to show up on both Amare' and Felton that let the Wolves tie the game. With only 12 seconds remaining and the score is tie with 114. Wes quickly runs in frontcourt and tried to cross through both Meal Ticket and Eddy Curry and he able to score with a finger roll for the win.

Team Leaders:

Points: Jason Kapono - 25 points / Wesley Johnson - 24 points, Raymond Felton - 33 points
Rebounds: Spencer Hawes - 5 rebounds, Eddy Curry - 5 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson/Wesley Johnson - 4 assits, Raymond Felton - 5 assits

Barnes goes to Dallas in exchange for Juan Barea

After the Wolves' big 4 player trade last month, other teams also started their moves to shake up the team and one of those are the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers as they finalized a trade sending Matt Barnes to Texas in exchange for Dallas, Juan Barea. The Puerto Rican A.I. will be having a star studded treatment at L.A. as Coach Phil Jackson decided to put him in the role of the starting point guard instead of veterans, Derek Fisher and Steve Blake. This trade seems to be so good from Barea, now that he can get a chance to become an NBA Champion but then not a fair trade for Dallas, now that no one will fill in Jason Kidd's spot when he decided to retire.

Other Notable Trades and Signings:

Kyle Weaver signed with Kings

Josh Boone signed with Bulls

Wizard's Trevor Booker traded to Atlanta for Jordan Crawford

Sixers' Maurice Speights traded to Memphis Grizzlies for rookie Xavier Henry

Utah Jazz' rookie Gordon Hayward traded to Oklahoma City Thunder for Thabo Sefolosha

Really? maybe because of their ratings that's why the sim engine let the trade. I am really liking the Barnes-Barea trade actually though it is a bit one sided for me now that no one will fill in Kidd's shoes for Dallas, but they still have Butler then.

Thunder strikes down on Minnesota
Image

vs. Oklahoma 105-108 (L)

Kevin Durant just proved he is the league's next big thing after saving the Thunder against the Wolves in a very close game that made the fans leave Target Center unhappy. The first quarter is tight between the two as they can't get a bigger lead against each other but then before it ends, Kevin Durant suddenly explodes with 1 of his 2 successful threes that changed the whole first half in favor of Oklahoma. Luck starts to show in behalf of the Thunders as most of their shots didn't miss but the Wolves are still on the hold and tried to get close but no luck until the end of the first half. Second half turned out to be a different story as the Wolves starts to fight back which leaded by Wesley Johnson and managed to go on a 12-4 run against a tired out Durant. The Wolves finally had their chance in the last 3 minutes as they able to tie the game thanks to Pekovic's lay up. With the Wolves wanting for another win, luck isn't that nice as AI missed a shot and let Durant score a three to beat the Wolves.

Team Leaders:
Points: Wesley Johnson - 20 points / Allen Iverson - 17 points, Kevin Durant - 44 points
Rebounds: Darko Milicic / Kevin Love - 6 rebounds, B.J. Mullens - 7 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson - 6 assits, Eric Maynor - 11 assits

Wolves dismantle Detroit
Image

vs. Detroit 101-94 (W)

After their disappointing loss against the Thunders, the Wolves are still had the guts to face the crowd in their home court as they go head to head with the Detroit Pistons. Pistons turned out to be good in both front and backcourt with the addition of Tracy Mcgrady and a very healthy Rip Hamilton but this didn't get a threat for the Wolves. It has been easy for the Wolves to battle it out against the Pistons as they started the game with an impressive 8-0 run. Ben Gordon then came out off the bench but it wasn't his luck as he missed some three points to give his team a nice run. The next half is still on the side of the Wolves as they continue to get on the lead. By the end, the Wolves are victorious and beat the star studded Pistons.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 26 points, Tyshaun Prince - 40 points
Rebounds: Wesley Johnson - 5 rebounds, Greg Monroe - 9 rebounds / Ben Wallace - 8 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson - 4 assits, Rodney Stuckey - 9 assits

Wolves wanted to continue the streak and beats the Bulls
Image

@ Chicago 115 - 107 (W)

The Wolves are once again victorious against another struggling team in the Chicago Bulls as they put an easy game just like what happened to Detroit. It wasn't Boozer's best game as he was always rejected by Wolves' titans that made the Bulls look week inside the paint. With no luck in front court, the team tried to get their chance outside with some help from Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer but still not good to earn them a lead before the first half ends. With the Wolves going strong at the start of the second half, the Bulls able to get on the hold which leaded by Derrick Rose attacking the front court but AI is always there to stop him while Boozer tries to return. At the end, the lead continues to extend until the Wolves finally gets a well deserved win.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 25 points / Wesley Johnson - 22 points, Derrick Rose - 34 points
Rebounds: Kevin Love - 7 rebounds / Allen Iverson - 6 rebounds, Luol Deng - 5 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson - 9 assits, Derrick Rose - 9 assits

The Wolves: Goes for the Win

Postby lefisto on Sat Sep 25, 2010 3:49 am

Wolves bailed out of Phoenix in crunch time

Image

vs. Phoenix - 109 - 108 (W)

The Wolves are turning their sides up as the continue their winnings as they travel to Arizon to compete and face Grant Hill's former team, the Phoenix Suns. It was all smiles at the start of the game with all friends with each other until the first quarter had really started and all things change as the Wolves goes for the early lead with 7 points with some impressive plays by Wesley Johnson that let Steve Nash focus in and out of the court. The second quarter just changed as the Suns made a surprise return and made a 10-0 run against the Wolves and finally got on the lead before the time laps. The Suns continues to lead the game at the early start of the second half and let the Wolves trail behind up to 10 points. The Wolves continues to struggle until Jason Kapono did the first three point of the team that gave them some spirit to fight back. The Wolves' defense came strong at the fourth quarter and able to narrow down the lead up to 4 points. The final minutes turned out to be crucial as it turned out to be a tie but then at then at the end, all thanks to Wesley's free throw shot, the Wolves get the win.

Team Leaders:
Points: Wesley Johnson - 32 points, Steve Nash - 44 points
Rebounds: Wesley Johnson - 6 rebounds, Robin Lopez - 12 rebounds
Assits: Sebastian Telfair - 5 assits, Steve Nash - 7 assits

Minnesota goes for OT Win

Image

vs. Portland 135-128 (W)

It seems luck are starting show up for the Minnesota Timberwolves as the get their 5th straight win when they visited the Rose Garden and face against the Trailblazers after an impressive OT performance. The start was tough as both teams tried to get on the lead but didn't able to a double digit lead. Brandon Roy was impressive after successful shots he made one including a jump shot before he lands his feet out of bounds. The Wolves defense came much stronger in this game which leaded by both Kevin Love and Darko Milicic that made the Wolves stop the Blazers for an attempt to end the game with Roy's three point shot that sends us to Overtime. The OT turned to be one sided as the Wolves headed for a run and ended victorious with 135-128.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 31 points / Wesley Johnson - 27 points, Brandon Roy - 40 points
Rebounds: Kevin Love - 10 rebounds, Nicholas Batum - 10 rebounds
Assits: Wesley Johnson / Kevin Love - 6 assits, Andre Miller - 9 assits

San Antonio Spurs traded Richard Jefferson to Golden State Warriors for Andris Biedrins
The Golden State Warriors announced in their website that they finally finalized a trade with two teams this afternoon and this will send their players Vladimir Radmanovic and Andris Biedrins. They acquired the San Antonio Spurs' small forward Richard Jefferson for Andris Biedrins while they get Toronto's Reggie Evans for Radmanovic. This gives the Warriors a better Small Forward in RJ while they decided to put the 5th position in David Lee. Will this help the team climb up and get a playoff seed?
