There were a few dynasties like this in Live 2005. Should be fun.

Oh I know bout the 2005 dynasties... but the inspiration for the story actually relates to something I wanted to do in real life. Not video game related. :P You will see...

Also, use my sig! :P

Brisbane, Australia
June 2006

“I’ve got the best idea man,” Will said to his friend Chris.
The two were having lunch at Chris’ place, “Another one of your wacky ideas?”
Will smiled, “I think we should make a documentary about your dad.”
“What?” Chris was confused.
“Well, think about this. A low budget short film about your dad trying to make the national Squash team. He quits his day job, plays the sport he loves to play, and sees how far he can go. Doesn’t matter if he makes it or not – all that matters is that we make this really dodgy short film and win some kind of award.”
Chris laughed, “I think it would be a major flop.”
Chris’ dad Rob walked out to the living room, he had overheard the conversation.
“Yeah, I don’t think it would work too well.”
Will smiled, “Well then, what if we made a documentary about me trying to make it into the NBA? I can drop uni, spend two years training for it. We document it with a camera crew.”
The idea was not original at all, he had just spent the other day watching an old 90s basketball documentary called ‘Hoop Dreams’. But at least he admitted it.
“I know that it isn’t that original. Remember the movie I told you about with two kids called Arthur and William? It’s called Hoop Dreams. Well, this could be my own Hoop Dreams.”
Both Chris and his dad looked at Will in bewilderment.
Will broke the silence, “I think it’s a good idea…”

* * *

Brisbane, Australia
Nov 2007

Will had dropped uni just as he had boldly stated. Chris’ girlfriend, a budding film student, gathered a group of friends to be Will’s film crew. They followed him everywhere. He hit the gym to do weights every morning then would shoot around for hours at the local basketball court. After watching the fifth Rocky movie, he decided to start drinking raw eggs every morning before practice. After listening to Fort Minor's Remember The Name, he decided it would be his theme song so he paid the 10 year old neighbor next door to carry a portable CD player playing the song everywhere he went. After hearing that Kanye West had caused headlines all over the world, he decided this would be a great role model to emulate in order to expand the profile of himself and the film project. After West criticized 'George Bush' for 'not caring about Black people', Will went down to Canberra and staged his own protest against Prime Minister John Howard.
"John Howard don't care about Asian people!" Will shouted before calling it a day.
He later turned to one of the camera crew, "How long I been here for?"
"About 30 seconds."
"Let's call it a day then!"
Later that year when Kevin Rudd was elected as Prime Minister, Will decided to protest again. This time he waited for Kevin outside his Brisbane office.
"Kevin don't care about White people!"
Nobody knew whether his antics were for the purpose of the film or if he was actually for real.

Everything was falling into place after he was invited by a person he met on the internet to join a social basketball team called the Fighting Irish. He gelled well with the team and was warmly welcomed by teammates Andrew and Ben; both would later come to despise him for his 20 fall-away, leaning sideways shot attempts per game. The three of them would lead the Irish to a playoff appearance.
“Ok, let’s get you guys over there in that corner,” Will said to two of the film crew.
He turned to another two of the crew, “I need you over there. Need to get me at a good angle, we need to make this look legit. See if you can do some kind of editing to make it look like we are playing at a faster pace.”
Even though the Irish lost by 20 points to be eliminated in the playoffs, courtesy of Ben not showing up to the game, there had been enough footage taken of Will. Will, who naturally had assumed all creative control of the film, decided that the editing would occur so that it appeared that the Irish had won it all. The other team was confused as to why he was jumping up and down and celebrating whilst his teammates sat on the bench behind him with their heads down.

Chris had got his dad, who worked in life insurance, to finance the production of the documentary. His dad did the dirty and came up with plenty of money but funds were running out. They used the rest of the money to hire an agent for Will. The agent had promised to work something out to keep the production of the movie going.

Need Your Help!

Ok... I've got 8 players. There are 2 spots left. In all fairness, I will make those 2 spots available to anyone.

I just need suggestions on how to select those lucky two. I was thinking you could all play some online game and print screen/post your high score and two high scores get through.

We actually lost because I was the only player that didn't play like a piece of shit. I had near 20pts, you had a donut or close to it & were a non-factor. That's about the worst I've ever seen you play, especially in a big game situation. Now that was a frustrating game, but I could still hold my head high after it :|

P.S. Told you this one would fail

Experience and inconsistency. But that's besides the point, I just wanted to see if you could pick out the part about Ben. However, the makeup of our team in that game was different to what it was mid season. We didn't have two of our big men and just did not have the depth to compete. But we lose and we learn! Also, looking back, I had a pretty bad end to 2008 basketball wise starting from that playoff loss and then missed half of the next season...

Yeah, lost interest in this after 2 days... have I beaten Thierry?
