Oh man. Strange stats (well what else to expect after triple OT) and especially a tough loss. You signed McCants and Marbury ^^ Thats hot. I hope they dont kill your chemistry too much. Especially on PG you had a decent backup for Tyreke with Sergio so I dont think you needed Marbury.

Now I have to get rid of Sergio or Udrih, and I'm still thinking about which one to trade, but I think it should be Udrih for a decent back-up for Thompson.

Kings get rid of Udrih, acquire Nick Collison

Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Kings are starting to solve the issues with having too many point guards, as earlier today they unloaded their roster by sendind Slovenian playmaker Beno Udrih to Oklahoma City, along with Ime Udoka. In exchange the Kings get Nick Collison, who is going to be a back-up for Jason Thompson, along with Ryan Bowen and a 2010 second round pick.

Nick Collison is a 6-10 PF/C out of Kansas. He was drafted with the 12th pick of the 2003 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics. Last season he made 71 appearances for the Thunder, as for 26 minutes per contest he made averages of 8.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and his FG% was 57%. Ryan Bowen is a 6-9 SF out of Iowa, currently in his 11th season in the NBA. He is probably going to be waived by the Kings, or put in the IR.

Collison is expected to make his debut in the season opener at home against the Toronto Raptors.

Really like the trade. Get Udrih out of the way, so Evans can have the point all to himself.

Raptors upset Kings in season opener at ARCO

Image

Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Kings suffered second straight loss. After being defeated by Houston after OT drama 143:146, tonight Paul Westphal's squad lost against the visiting Toronto Raptors 102:107. The crowd left ARCO Arena disappointed, after their favorites played good only in the closing quarter, but that was enough for them only to drop down the difference to 5 points.

The Raptors got off to a really good start, and after great shooting, especially by Marco Belinelli, who had 12 in the first they were up 16:31. From now on, they kept their advantage, as at some points of the game they were up even by 18 points of difference. The last quarter was the only positive thing for the Kings in this game, along with the good play from second-year pro Donte Greene, who led the team in scoring along with Emeka Okafor and Jason Thompson, as each of those three scored 18 points. Thompson also had 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block, while Okafor only grabbed 4 rebounds. Francisco Garcia scored 17 points, and Kevin Martin was pretty disappointing with just 14 on his stat sheet. Tyreke Evans didn't managed to score in double digits, but had a pretty solid performance. The 6-6 guard out of Memphis scored 8 points along with 11 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals, but he also had 4 turnovers.

Coach Westphal didn't use Stephon Marbury much today, as the veteran played only 5 minutes, and claims to be OK with that. "I think the time for me to play 35 minutes has passed. Right now I'm just happy that I have a contract and a team, and I try to teach the other 2 point guards, who are really talented kids" said Starbury, as this didn't sound exactly like the Stephon Marbury we all know.

Paul Westphal wasn't in the mood for much talking, and he just said that he expects the team to play defense all game long, not just in the last 5 minutes of the contest.

P.S. For some reason I really would love to get DeRozan from the Raptors, since he's not playing much, what do you guys think about a trade like this, I wanna move Nocioni.

As TheDee said... you should waive Bowen and try to acquire DeRozan... trade is pretty realistic, so props for that.

Sensational deal brings DeRozan to Sacramento

Image

Sacramento, CA

DeMar DeRozan is a Sacramento King. Officially. After there were rumours that the Kings had interest in acquiring the youngster from the Toronto Raptors, just a few days after the two teams met in ARCO Arena, and the Raptors won, the deal was confirmed by both sides. DeMar DeRozan is going to Sacramento in exchange of veteran PG Stephon Marbury, who was signed in the begining of the season and two draft picks - 2010 second rounder (Kings) and 2010 second rounder (Thunder).

Stephon Marbury averaged 2.0 points and 4.0 assists in the two games he played in a Kings uniform. On the other side, DeRozan wasn't getting much minutes in Toronto - he played 10.5 minutes per game in two contests, averaging 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and shooting 83%.

DeRozan, a 6-7/220 guard was drafted by the Raptors with the 9th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Before that he played his freshman year at USC, as in 38 games for the Trojans he averaged 13.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a shooting percentage of 52.3%. His 485 points ranks third all-time and his 201 rebounds fourth all-time for a USC freshman. Prior to joining USC he enjoyed a super succesful high school career at Compton HS. As a senior averaging 29.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg,[3] DeRozan led Compton High School to a 26-6 record, a second consecutive Moore League championship and the CIF Division IAA Southern Section quarter-finals. For his efforts he was awarded the Moore League Most Valuable Player Award and named to the California All-State team. DeRozan was a member of the 2008 McDonald's All-American Team, and also won the 2008 McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Competition.[4] He was also invited to play in the 2008 Jordan Brand Classic at Madison Square Garden and the Nike Hoop Summit, where he scored a team-high 17 points.

Yeah, I don't see the Raptors trading Heir Canada for a pair of garbage picks and Stephon Marbury.

Kings stun Nuggets for 2nd win this year

Image

Sacramento, CA

Sacramento achieved their second win this year. The Kings defeated at home in ARCO Arena one of the contenders for the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets as the final score was 112:118. The Kings didn't have a good day from three-point territory, but outrebounded their opposition, and got more support from the bench. DeMar DeRozan made his debut as a King, and Donte Greene was in the starting line-up for the first time this season. Here are the boxscores and stats.

Around the league:

A couple of trades were done around the NBA these days, let's see who changed places.

Rasheed Wallace goes to Philadelphia, while the Boston Celtics receive guard Louis Williams.

The Bucks sent PG Luke Ridnour to New York, and the Knicks gave the bucks PG Chris Duhon.

The Nets parted ways with Keyon Dooling, as they sent him to LA, while the Clippers gave Sebastian Telfair to the Nets.

The major trade so far this season is between Charlotte and Atlanta. The Hawks gave up veteran point guard Mike Bibby to the Bobcats, while Charlotte sent back to the ATL Raymond Felton.

That Sheed trade is just ridiculous!! That trade between ATL and CHA isn't too bad though. Bibby is obviously better but Felton is much younger and has lots of room to grow, i like it.

Good work on the DeRozan trade (Y) even though the Raps are now dead lol which is a good thing, I hate the Raps!

The Raps don't even need Marbury, they have PG's and SG's,Marbury will just sit.
Anyway,i love DeRozan.Another thing. This looks like the real thing about Greene,if the dude get's some big minutes,he can lead the team. But somehow he gets like 10 minutes one game, then like 25~ other.
