Fri Jul 03, 2009 7:21 pm

November 5th

Rockets 103, Sonics 101
Toyota Center
Houston, TX

“T-Mac’s late layup helps Rockets escape Sonics”
Houston (AP) -- A head-to head finish after a frenzy comeback in the last two minutes, but Rockets sank Sonics. In the first quarter Seattle went +10, but in the second the Rockets made a furious run to grab the +8 lead at the halftime. In the second half Houston was in control until 2 minutes to go when Boobie Gibson, scoreless since halftime, put up an 8-0 run with 2 threes and a dunk to bring Seattle at -1 with 1:25 left on the clock. But after Barbosa’s 2/2 from the line to get the 101-101, T-Mac scored the definitive layup with 2,1 left. The buzzer beater came out of Leon Powe’s hands, airball…
McGrady scored 27 without apparent difficulty, while Brooks added a double-double. Well Shane-Show out of the bench. Another great performance of Daniel Hunt (10 points and 4 offensive boards in the first quarter) and good impact of the Diesel in his debut: 9 points, 2 boards and 1 assist in 11 minutes. Seattle ended the road trip 1-2 and now waits for the Nuggets.

*KEY PLAYERS* HOU
T. McGrady – 27 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast
M. Yao – 16 pts, 2 reb, 2 ast
A. Brooks – 15 pts, 14 ast, 2 stl
S. Battier – 12 pts, 2 reb, 1 blk
L. Scola – 10 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast

*KEY PLAYERS* SEA

L. Powe – 17 pts, 10 reb, 2 blk

November 8th

Sonics 159, Nuggets 154 3OT
KeyArena
Seattle, WA

“Legendary teams for a legendary game”
Seattle (AP) -- Amazing happens in Seattle. Leandrinho Barbosa hit a 17-footer with 15.5 seconds remaining in the third overtime to give Seattle the definitive lead. Barbosa himself scored the buzzer beater at the end of the second OT, but he was just a 0.1 too late and the basket was not valid: 141-141 and third extra period. Without Boobie, fouled out at the beginning of the first OT, Bobby Jackson took control while Brazilian Shotgun kept on firing into Denver’s basket: 35 in four quarters and 26 in three OTs. First triple-double for Daniel Hunt, double-doubles for Gibson, Billups and Nené. Seattle, once again, has been able to comeback from -10 in the last minutes, when Denver seemed to control easily the game.

*KEY PLAYERS* SEA
L. Barbosa – 61 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast
D. Gibson – 28 pts, 10 ast, 4 stl
D. Hunt – 21 pts, 13 reb, 10 blk
L. Powe – 19 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast
M. Webster – 18 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk

*KEY PLAYERS* DEN
C. Anthony – 42 pts, 4 reb, 3 stl
C. Billups – 27 pts, 17 ast, 2 stl
Nené – 20 pts, 11 reb, 5 blk
K. Martin – 19 pts, 7 reb, 3 blk
J. Smith – 19 pts, 3 stl, 2 ast

megarover wrote:how does your rotation look like

Usually this is the rotation:
- PG Daniel Gibson 85% (Javaris Crittenton 15%)
- SG Leandro Barbosa 85% (J.J. Redick 15%)
- SF Martell Webster 80% (Walter Sharpe 20%)
- PF Leon Powe 80% (Josh Boone or Hilton Armstrong 20%)
- C Daniel Hunt 80% (Shaquille O'Neal 20%)

Bobby Jackson, Shannon Brown, Matt Bonner played only few minutes only in a pair of games, Viktor Khryapa never played and is going to be waived...

...and in the offseason 2009 his overall rating fell from 76 to 70... that's why Phoenix released him...
