2 Trades announced within Thunder Organization.
Image
- GM Casey Lee finally makes moves to hopefully better the Thunder.

Thunder acquire sharp shooter Damon Jones from Milwaukee.
Image Image
Story - The Thunder have been open about their quest for a deep threat from behind the arc and they seemed to have found their man in 32 year old Damon Jones. The Oklahoma City Thunder sent Damien Wilkins and Robert Swift to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Damon Jones and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. GM Casey Lee on the trade, "Damon is a guy we feel brings in some veteran leadership and a sweet shot from outside. We also get Luc Richard who is a very athletic rookie and we hope to keep him around for a couple years and watch him develop into a very good NBA player." Damon Jones was burried on the bench of Milwaukee and when asked about getting playing time in Oklahoma City he responded, "I'm ready to remind everyone of my great shooting and show everyone I belong on the court."

Oklahoma City adds size to help out down low in latest trade.

Story - The same day that the Thunder acquire Jones and Mbah a Moute, GM Casey Lee completed another trade he had been working on. The trade featured sending unhappy Joe Smith, Malik Rose, and the '09 second round draft pick to Chicago in exchange for Brad Miller. This gives the Thunder a big presence down low and a mentor to their younger post players Nick Collison, D.J. White, and Mouhammed Sene. Team Captain Kevin Durant on the trade, "Getting Brad is going to be a big help down low and helps give are other big guys rest. Hopefully this is a move that can help us get to that next step in competing for a playoff spot."

Thunder continue their struggles.

Thunder can't buy a game, losing streak now 6.

Durant's 43pts overshadowed with loss.

- Rudy Gay hit the game winner.

Grizzlies - 17 - 22 - 26 - 25 - Total 90
Thunder - 24 - 16 - 25 - 22 - Total 87

Thunder starters Westbrook - Sefolosha - Durant - Green - White

Recap - With newly acquired Brad Miller, Damon Jones, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute on the road traveling to Oklahoma City, the Thunder had to play one mroe game without their new help. For the first time all season the Oklahoma City Thunder led after the first quarter, but it wouldn't be enough to stop the charging Grizzlies. Gay, Michael Conley, and Darrell Arthur combined for over half their teams points in a comeback win over the Thunder. The 'mini' three of the Thunder combined for 68 of their teams 87 points. Kevin Durant had tied the game up at 87 with 9.7 second left to play. After an timeout the Grizzlies in-bounded the ball to a hot Rudy Gay. After letting the clock run down he faked the drive and stepped back for a surprising three point shot. After the game a defeated Kevin Durant spoke of the game, "I can only do so much."

POG - Memphis Grizzlies - Rudy Gay - 30pts/5reb/4ast

Memphis Grizzlies Top Performers
- D. Arthur 13pts/9reb
- M. Conley 11pts/9ast
- C. Mihm 10pts/7reb/6blk

Oklahoma City Thunder Top Performers
- K. Durant 43pts/4reb
- J. Green 13pts/6reb/5ast
- R. Westbrook 12pts/15ast/5stl

Thunder suffer more than a loss with the injury bug biting hard.
Image
- Russell Westbrook separates shoulder.

Thunder - 25 - 9 - 11 - 15 - Total 60
76ers - 28 - 24 - 19 - 12 - Total 83

Thunder Starters Westbrook - Sefolosha - Durant - Green - Miller

Recap - The debut of the three newest players for the Thunder was overshadowed by a huge road loss and a loss of the young star Russell Westbrook. In the beginning of the third quarter Westbrook was brought down hard by Samuel Dalembert when Westbrook went up for a dunk. He came down hard on his shoulder and an instant 'pop' was heard. The medical diagnosis showed that Westbrook separated his shoulder and he will be out for at least 2-4 weeks. With the Thunder losing this bad on the road even with newly acquired Brad Miller and Damon Jones, this makes people wonder if there is any hope for a chance at the playoffs. GM Casey Lee commented on the game, "It was the first game with our new big man and swing man. I think all we need is a little practice together and things will get better. As for right now we really need Earl (Watson) to step up with Russ out for probably around a month. This will be a true test of our depth and heart."

POG - Philadelphia 76ers - E. Brand - 19pts/5reb/4blk

Oklahoma City Top Performers
- B. Miller 18pts/3reb/2blk
- K. Durant 17pts
- D. Jones 6pts

Philadelphia 76ers Top Performers
- A. Iguodala 16pts
- A. Miller 10pts/9ast/6reb
- S. Dalembert 8pts/8reb

Thunder struggle without PG Westbrook.
Image
- Vince Carter helps in dismantling of Thunder.

Thunder - 22 - 25 - 21 - 27 - Total 95
Nets 35 - 21 - 30 - 23 - Total 109

Thunder Starters Watson - Sefolosha - Durant - Green - Miller

Recap - The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to spin in a downward spiral after a 14-point loss to the New Jersey Nets. The Nets sped off with a quick 13-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. All of the big men for the Nets dominated down low, whereas Brad Miller was no where to be seen. The Thunder looked confused most of the game without having Westbrook out their to lead the offense. "Going from a pass-first point guard to a shoot-first point guard is hard to adjust to. It will take some time, but the guys will adapt," says coach P.J. Carlesimo. After hearing an optimistic head coach, fans might have been brought back a bit by a heated General Manager in Casey Lee. He sat at the press box for only enough time to say, "Changes need to and will be made."

POG - New Jersey Nets - Vince Carter - 25pts/7reb/8ast

Oklahoma City Thunder Top Performers
- K. Durant 31pts/4reb
- E. Watson 16pts/5ast
- N. Collison 16pts

New Jersey Nets Top Performers
- J. Yi 15pts/3reb
- B. Lopez 14pts/6reb/2blk
- S. Swift 8pts/9reb/3blk

OKC Thunder Update
Image
3 New Transactions have been made.

Coach P.J. Carlesimo Fired!
Image
Story - After a rough and embarrassing 0-6 start for the Oklahoma City Thunder, GM Casey Lee said changes needed to be made. His first big change involving the staff would be the firing of Head Coach P.J. Carlesimo. After the firing players were interviewed and team captain Kevin Durant spoke up, "We needed a change. The type of players we have didn't mesh with the type of coach that Carlesimo was. Hopefully our next coach lets us run more, seeing as we have a fast and athletic team." When asked about his decision, GM Casey Lee answered back, "I didn't sign up to lose. I'm not here to rebuild, I am here to get into the playoffs. P.J. was a great guy, but he just isn't the person for this job. I wish him the best of luck in the future."

Scott Brooks named interim Head Coach.
Image
Story - Hours after P.J. Carlesimo was fired, GM Casey Lee named assistant coach Scott Brooks the interim head coach. "Casey sat down with me and laid out the foundation of his plan. He made it perfectly clear he wants to win now and that I have this year to prove I can fit into the plan. I have heard the players and if they want to run we can run, but there still needs to be disciplined play on the court. You need smarts just as much as athleticism," these were Scott Brooks comments during the press conference. Brooks was signed to a 1year $3.10 million dollar contract. Open Team Captain Kevin Durant seemed very optimistic after the announcement, " I have always gotten along with coach Brooks and hope to have a great relationship with him. Now all we need to do is get everyone on the same page and start winning games."

Dee Brown signed to fill PG void.
Image
Story - The Thunder have been open about not playing third string point guard Chucky Atkins. He doesn't fit the mold of the team and he has been open about not wanting to step on the court in a Thunder jersey. This causes issue in depth for the Thunder seeing as Russell Westbrook is out and all they have is Earl Watson. "Damon Jones is listed as a point guard, but we plan on having him in the shooting guard slot this year to help him focus on his shot," said head coach Scott Brooks. Dee Brown was signed to a 1year $2.60 million dollar contract. Dee Brown is a very fast athletic player that shined in college while he attended Illinois, but once entering the NBA has drifted form the minds of most fans. He hopes to use this opportunity to show everyone he can still play and play at a high level. Coach Brooks said given the amount of time they have till their next game, Dee Brown will get the nod at starting point guard against the Toronto Raptors.

- So here is the deal everyone...I am very fine with continuing this association because i really dont want this to go down the drain but the thing is, my chemistry is super low and it makes it virtually impossible to win. honestly, like my players miss layups and make stupid turnovers all the time. Even Durant is suffering from bad chemistry. This wouldnt be such a big deal but it pisses me off so much losing, lol...I have almost broken my controller one to many times. So if you guy swant i can stick with it and maybe sim the rest of this season. Or if you guys think I should maybe get a better team, but not a stacked one and start over? IDK, feedback please.
