The Knicks season opener kicked off with there second straight loss. A hot Baron Davis made sure to ruin New York's opener."I started hot, got cool, and heated back up" stated Davis about his 46 point performance. "We kept playing uphill all night, Baron was just letting it fly out there, to put it short we did not have an answer." stated Jamal Crawford. The Clippers led the whole game and the Knicks made a late run but it wasn't enough. Marbury played limited minutes and made a positive impact. "I'm still a Knick, when I'm in the game-I'm trying to win" stated Marbury when asked about his limited minutes. The Knicks will face the Rockets in there next game.

It's getting prettier every time (Y)
You gotta practice them free throws, you leaving many points at the line. And do something about the offensive boards (yours as well as your opponent's)

Keep it up! (Y)

* I pulled off the Pistons/Nuggets trade. I had to be creative since the other player in the trade was not in the game. That's why I ended up signing the 2 scrubs you see there to make this trade happen. it took me resigning like 5 times to be the Nuggets and then The pistons to make this trade work. It's good to know that with a little manipulating, we can basically control other teams rosters to an extent. I have a feeling Gordan will be out of Chicago by the next update. I'm shopping Marbury and Curry around.

enjoy

LOL! Thanks..these things are fun to do. You planning on doing anything with any of the basketball games this year? C'mon

Fresh wrote:Oh man!

Jefferson killed it out there! Oh well, I agree with Shadowgrin, you lost because you played Marbury!

yeah man, he was beastin me all over the place. Lee, Randolph, Curry could not touch him. Well, 2 losses and Marbury played well IMO. But fact is he is playing good, look at his points/minutes played. He is doing things when he is in the game. hard for me to hate on him right now because he does produce.

The X wrote:Enough with the Marbury haters, I think you actually need to start him....at least until you you draft a VCU product, then you should be sweet at PG

LOL, you remembered. Man--you've got a great memory. I wish i could add Elijah in there, hopefully someone can crack these rosters and we can start adding cyberfaces in the game before I do my draft! But if there is a way i can put that VCU prospect in there, I will!! That's so awesome you remembered Elijah Cocobee!!

Hello my friend, THE SHOEMAN! You playing 2k9? If so i know your trying to fix these ugly shoes in game!! Wow , some old heads are coming out of the woodwork! I hope everything is well with you. Can't wait for any of your 2k9 patches in the future!

Thanks man, I 'll be changing it up every once in awhile. I'm still in my experimenting stage. I don't have a much time as I use to, so I'm still trying to find ways to make these reports a lot more faster.

yeah, he scorched me. 46 points---uhh  Yeah man, i was reading a thread at OS and it mentioned. So i went in game and he was right. You can quit and go to a new team. The after your done, quit and go back to the Knicks. I was glad to see that, so i could somewhat keep up with blockbuster trades like that.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, I see that this forum is slowly growing. It's good to see a good start of solid dynasties.

The Knicks go on the road and play a very talented Rockets squad. D'Antoni spiced up the line up by starting Marbury. " We needed a slap in the face to wake our team up, Steph could be that slap" stated the coach before the game. The game started with Luther head hitting 4-4 in three pointers in the first quarter. The Knicks were down as much as 12 points in the first half. The Knicks made a strong run in the third and even took a 6 point lead going into the fourth quarter. McGrady got hot and pulled Houston ahead of the Knicks. Yao Ming who dominated all game made 2 crucial baskets to seal the deal and hand the Knicks there third straight loss. Head added " I came out the gate hot and I knew I needed to step up because Yao was getting double teamed every time he touched the rock". Eddy Curry led all Knicks scores with 24 points. " I want to play, whatever happens will happen but for now, I'm f**king playing" explained the disgruntled Center. The Knicks face the Mavericks tomorrow night. Marbury is projected to start.

I just imagined Elijah starting, Nate backing him up & Eric Maynor as 3rd string PG....ahh well....thought you might manually edit draft prospects in the Association & just give them a face/body using DNA features....clearly not as good as doing it in roster database editors & with cyberfaces, but ahh well, such is life....

and yes, my memory usually serves me well (& sometimes works against me)

Yeah, I could not stop him. Everytime I was making a run, he'd have a put back and he did not miss an open 15 footer all game.

I created Maynor, but Elijah will have to wait unitl we figure out how to patch this baby. I hate the fact that 2k uses real people's faces. I wish they'd just use the created players face as the portrait. Looks dumb to have Corliss Williamson's picture for Eric Maynor. LOL

* I was using a new config.cfg setting I saw on the forums, I tested it on this game and it was laggy as hell (10 FPS). So I try to quit and get out of the game to change my config.cfg back to the way it was but it won't let you quit, it simulates to the end. So I simulate to the end and it auto saves the results. For some reason it would not let me alt, shift and delete out of the game. So I was SOL after that.

So just looking around the League, some crazy trades out there. Gordon for Jackson? I knew Gordon would be out but to GS, I guess that be a good fit for them. Jackson to the Bulls make no sense? WTF is Chicago thinking, they get rid of Gooden and get "Father Time" Jerry Stackhouse.Peja is with the Thunder now. Miller out of Phila. Crazy week and a half.

TRADE 11/30/08

Postby cocobee on Thu Nov 06, 2008 4:00 pm

Image
Stephen A Smith of ESPN reports that the New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies have come to terms on a trade. Everyone thought it would be Marbury, but Curry was the first one to exit stage left. This trade seems to help both teams as Memphis needed some size down low and New York wanted to get rid of Curry and get more athletic. These players will in uniform for the next game. I would rate this trade a B+ for both teams. Now what will Walsh do with Marbury? What would you guys rate this trade?

Image will get:

Image
PF -Hakim Warrick
Image
C-Darko Milicic

Image will get:

C-Eddy Curry

Hey coco, in mine, some weird trades have occured too and not to my knowledge unfortunately... oh well!

And I was going to get Darko in my dynasty but you beat me to it! :P But nice trade there! I'm a fan of Milicic. Good shot blocker and Warrick is not bad also. Let's see them in action but at this stage, I will give you a B with the move. I would have rather seen you get Al Harrington. :P

As for Marbury; depends on your team needs! His contract is so big, you will need to deal him to a team that needs an expiring contract but also getting something back. Perhaps if Nets aren't performing well you could do a Vince Carter-Stephon Marbury swap? :)

I put 'trade override' on now because I feel that this game does too many trades...

Actually now that you mention that I probably will be posting one sometime in the near future. Ive also got a little somethin somethin in the works with Dragon@4thQ which will be great once we get it working.

Keep up the good stuff man, very enjoyable to read. Your right about those trades, crazy stuff.

Good move on your trade, although Darko pisses me off, but still very good for you team. I hope Dwight shits on Darko in your next game though :P

Yeah, I actually like it too... we all know how Vince Carter wines so much... he would be awesome to be playing in NYC and send Marbury so that New Jersey can continue rebuilding. :P If you don't do the trade, I will probably do it in mine! :)

vs Magic 12/03/08

(Left)Dwight Howard messed around and got a triple double but it wasn't enough.(Right) Darko had a very impressive first game as a Knick as he got the starting nod.

Image

The Knicks got there first win of the season over the Orlando Magic. Just days after making a trade for Darko Milicic and Hakim Warrick, the Knicks run and gun there way to win. D'Antoni started Milicic over Lee and it worked out very well. Milicic got an ankle sprain but remained in the game. The Magic trailed the whole game but made a run in the fourth quarter to scare the Knicks. But the Crawford hit a key three pointer and free throws to seal the deal. Marbury was in the starting lineup for the third straight game and made an immediate impact keeping Magic guard Nelson honest all night. Howard had a monster game but it wasn't enough as the Knicks found ways to score tonight."This was a team effort and it feels good to get this win in front of our home crowd". stated Duhon after the game. All four players in the trade will be action as the Knicks play the Grizzlies next.
