Are you serious?

yep, the Beagle is a thief....as Paul has said in the past, we should call her "Fingers"....anything not nailed down, she'll go at....you leave the door open for 2 seconds, she's in there....obviously she didn't eat the whole thing, she more or less chewed on it....unfortunately her teeth got on the back main screen, so camera is screwed....I'll probably just get a good camera phone when my contract is up in June, no point having a digital camera these days as the phone cameras are just as good in many cases....

Why do you need a digital camera for an association? Can't you upload a screenshot or use the reelmaker and take a screenshot from that if your on the 360/PS3?

I started an association the other night, here is my lineup:

C: Brook Lopez/Anderson Varejao
PF: Michael Beasley/Brandon Bass
SF: Danny Granger/Jason Kapono
SG: Mike Miller/Willie Green
PG: Kirk Hinrich/Rodney Stuckey

I picked a younger side to see how they develop. so far we're 2-2. but im still getting used to playing the game

Glad to see a thread like this is up. I myself couldn't wait to pick up 2k9 when I heard it was coming out for pc. Its definitely amazing. Ten times better than anything EA came up with. Anyways, I started a Nets Association. I'm using Wonderland's sliders (tweaked to my liking) with the roster that came in his pack. I play on 12 min. quarters on All-star in a 58 game season.

Rotation
C: Lopez, Boone
PF: Yi, Williams, Andersen, Swift
SF: Hayes
SG: Carter, Dooling, Douglas-Roberts
PG: Harris

I'm sure there's a couple more but I can't seem to remember them off the top of my head. I played the first game of the season earlier and started off on the right foot. Beat Phoenix by 8 at home. Harris and Nash had a battle to see who could score more. Nash dropped 41, while Devin had 40. Nash won the battle, but Harris won the war. I'm looking forward to playing more games with this team as it should be a lot of fun. Some of you might remember my Grizzlies dynasty in Live 08, which completely lost any following I had after I started working 70+ hours a week. That leads me into thinking I'm probably not going to start a story, unless the popular vote demands it. I'll more than likely be playing 2k9 full time until Bethesda gets off their ass and fixes Fallout 3. At that point I'll be switching between the 2 to prevent burning out on either game. Enough of my rant though, enjoy!

Yup, same here, really enjoying it right now! Started the lakers dynasty and i am playing thorugh the 2nd season now :D

C: Bynum, Floyd
PF: D.Arthur, DJ White
SF: Ingram, Rose
SG: Kobe, Weaver
PG: Farmar, J.Crittenton

My question is, should i let kobe test the free agent market and free up some cap space, change crittenton into SG and sign a backup PG later?

Get the best value out of Kobe while you can. He's a 99 rated player after all. :P You could always trade him?

i wanted to trade him but i thought he has the no trade clause? I think i was just use him for a couple of years and let him go the free agent market :)

The thing about me is that i love developing young players. So, the moment i took control of lakers, i traded fisher, lamar, gasol and some other old dudes away. At the same time i bring young players such as D.Arthur and allowed J.Farmar to start.

Since, i think i won't get fired even though i started with 2 bad seasons, i might as well developed the team for the future :D

Anyways, I'm really enjoying the Association stories for the first time since Live '05/Live '06 days, which has got me thinking, I need to get an Association started myself. Only issue is my lack of time in next month (big exam & studies), so I'm thinking if I do one, then it will start in about a month's time. Otherwise, maybe I'll just do an Association with no thread & just post random updates on here.

Either way, I'm thinking 29 game seasons, maybe simming half those games, so I can get through seasons. Maybe something like a 3-5-5-5 playoff format. Then there is issue whether to edit draft prospects. Maybe I'll edit just a few or none at all. Might automate quite a few of GM activities. On that note, do you reckon that I should have Trade Override ON? Does that allow me to stop stupid CPU to CPU trades so teams don't get stacked with 3 starting PG's?

Finally, there is the small matter of the team choice. As per usual, I don't like going with good teams, usually prefer young or crap teams or both.

Teams I'm considering (in alphabetical order):

- Charlotte (they unfortunately didn't review my Live '05 dynasty & make a hard push for Joe Johnson like I did. Otherwise they would now be a playoff team. They also haven't drafted That Guy or any other decent picks not named Jared Dudley. Working against them is I don't want to help MJ win. Working for them, I'd enjoy firing Larry Brown :P ) - used in Live '05 for my Dynasty

- Denver (kind of in limbo, capped out, sitting in position of not getting much better or worse without some big moves, some good young talent in Melo, Smith, Kleiza) - used in Live '04 for my Dynasty

- LA Clippers (pretty crap, need a lot of help, although I'm not a huge fan of Baron Davis so this Association probably won't happen)

- Milwaukee (mediocre team, but have Bogut & Joe Alexander, don't know if I'm sold on it though)

- Portland (Rudy & Roy, that's the crux to it. I might make it harder but signing Miles to his old contract then waiving him so salary stays on cap to make it a bit more challenging to offset such a great young team) - used in Live '06 for my Dynasty

so far my preferred order is Portland, Denver, Charlotte, Milwaukee & then Clippers....but it's not set in stone at all, otherwise I wouldn't be asking in the first place....

So yeah, any suggestions on the above would be appreciated....

Also to any mods who might be reading this, please sticky this thread. Sorry for being too lazy to request it through correct channels :P

Why not just displace Jordan ;) ? But we already have a Charlotte Dynasty here .. so I would love to see a Blazers Dynasty from you. Your 06 dynasty was great :)
After watching their game against Houston its tough to not like them.
I recommend --> Blazers !

PS: Sticky would be nice, thats right : (Y)

X, dont do Cats or Blazers since you done them already. I wanna see you use Denver. You're never had a team where you've had a superstar from the start. And you know I like Carmelo mroe than Bron and Wade. Yes, it is always about me :P

As for trade override... I think it doesnt stop any cpu trades... all it lets u do is force trades of ur own. :(

so there is interest in Denver, Charlotte & Portland, the last 3 dynasties I've done  any other teams around the league that might fit me?!?

actually, I did an off-line Denver Nuggets Dynasty with Live '04, & I got through about 5-6 seasons, 10-12 if you include my .dbf file going to Honor Glow who merged it into his....unfortunately, Melo only became a one-time All-Star, & my No. 1 draft pick in the 2005 Draft PG Felton Lindow, despite going on a tear early & winning Finals MVP on way to Nuggets first NBA title, became a bust & was a backup PG most of his career

Funnily enough, I managed to trade for Dwayne Wade in that dynasty & he became my 6th man....neither Wade, Lebron nor Melo developed into much at all....I think Darko might've been the best prospect in that draft....ahh, you gotta luv the Live dynasty simulation logic

So yep, I've done Denver before....you've done Lakers 18 times, doesn't stop you going back for more  I think if Blazers didn't have Oden, I'd be more inclined to say yes, that's my team....

But yep, that sucks about trade override, I thought there was an option to restrict CPU trades, which might be separate from trade override, I'll have to take a look....

You got me there :P But you know I am a Lakers fan so that is my excuse! You aren't attached to anyone atm so you can go with whoever. :P

I say go with Bucks. Trade Redd and make Bogut a star :)

After i went through all of these dynasties in ''stories forum''. i figured out one thing: nobody (including myself) likes a winning team. It is really more interesting to read about team which is placed at 5th or lower spot in the conference.
I have done only one dynasty. It was NBA 06 raptors, I had screens, recaps, mags, nike ballers and everything but it never ended on internet because of my :!: :!: 56k dial up connection :!: :!: . Just before christmas... I'm buying the new system, only for 2k9, and I have a lot on my mind now so I want to ask you a few questions--..

Best season format:
a) 29 games- it won't be so realistic but it will probably be completed
b) 58 games- it'll be more realistic because of the 2 games against every team
c) 82 games- real nba but it's really hard to complete it.because when i complete it.the real season will be already over (is that a problem?)
d) i should play only playoffs and choose one team in each series and play it all

You prefer at most:
a) a team like heat where i will mostly lose but wade will be scoring 40
b) bad young team without any superstar
c) great team like spurs which will be disappointing and average. fighting for last playoff spots
d) bad young team without any superstar which will win 90 percent of season games

I'll post more questions later...

Pick a team that will keep you interested. If you are interested and posting regular updates... then we will be reading them.

As for the season, again it's up to you. If you want to play all the games, a shorter season is better. If you simulate some, a longer season might be ok.

Thanks for interest guys, I think I'll go the Denver Nuggets 8-) guess I'll go back to where I started & see if I can make Melo a superstar....

I wouldn't have touched them with Iverson on board, but with him gone, they look like the team for me....having Kleiza & Balkman is nice, just need to get Steve Blake back in town :P

Melo's already a superstar... just not a winning one. :P Well in my eyes at least!

Oh and you know you need Will Sit on the team. :P The void left by Earl Boykins was filled by AI and the void filled by AI is now vacant... ready for this Fresh kid to join. You know you want to :P

You might even want to trade Melo for a big when you see how good JR Smith is 8-)
Denver is a good choice, it will be interesting to see you develop Nene and Smith, while keeping a good core of role players.
