Man, I love retro dynasties. Awesome to see another one right here!

Are you going to make Starbury play like a selfish douche? ;)

Anyway, I suppose you could use the appropriate HC jersey available at the time to correct your jersey problems. Good luck.

OrlMagic, I quite like him. Thank you.

jonthefon, Nah, I think I'll play Marbury like.. Hmm, something like he is, but more a pass-first guy more. Cut a lane, go to the basket, attract a double-team, pass to an open guy and there you have it, assist and two points. I'll possibly use some old jerseys which I can select from the " Select jerseys " menu or whatever it is, but they're not always there. I'll try, though. Thanks, again. :)

Timberwolves acquire three new players in two trades.
MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29, 1997 (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have been thinking about a trade for quite long, and on the first day of the regular season, they have sent their offers. Three days after sending their offers Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings, both teams accepted the trade.

The Timberwolves have traded their starting PF, Tom Gugliotta, to the Indiana Pacers for Jalen Rose. The Pacers also obtained the Timberwolves' 6th man, Terry Porter in exchange for Chris Mullin.

Tom Gugliotta and Terry Porter both have one year left in their contracts, Gugliotta will most likely be resigned to a long-term contract, as he's just 27 years old, but there's a possibility of Terry Porter retiring, because he'll turn 35 soon, he might also stay in the league for one or more years.

The trade also forced Timberwolves' captain, Garnett, to play at the power forward position, as Jalen Rose, who is just 24 years old, will be starting at the small forward position. Chris Mullin, aged 34, will be playing under Anthony Peeler at his natural position, SG.

" I'm really excited, man, " Rose talked about his new team. " It's a great team, I'm really looking forward to play together with KG and Stephon. I got along nicely with Reggie Miller, so I'll definitely miss him, but I'll get over it. "
    To the Pacers.

    To the Timberwolves.
    Image Image
The second trade, was a center swap between the Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings. The Wolves sent their back-up C, Cherokee Parks for an undrafted rookie, Michael Stewart. Parks, at the age of 25, is another expiring contract the Timberwolves dumped. Parks played his college ball at Duke University, and won the national championships during his freshman year. Stewart, who is often called Yogi, is just 22 years young, and also has an expiring contract and will be paid 242K during his rookie season. Michael Stewart will play under the starting center Stanley Roberts.

" That's what I wanted - to get out, " Parks said shortly before going to Sacramento. " In Sacramento, I have a chance of being a starter, but if not, I'll be an important bench player. I'll get more PT and a chance to prove myself. I'm happy to go there. "
    To the Kings.
    Image
    To the Timberwolves.
    Image
The Timberwolves' top 3. offensive options, Kevin Garnett, Stephon Marbury and Jalen Rose are all less than 25 years old, as Garnett is 21, Marbury is 20 and a sophmore as well, and Rose is 24. Chris Mullin is now the oldest Timberwolf and also the most experienced, as he is past his prime, and during his prime, he was also a part of the '92 Dreamteam.

Lamrock, I updated it now. I was updating the main post title and stuff before, and you answered kind a quickly, so I didn't do it before. I also added some comments from the Jalen Rose and Cherokee Sparks now, read them too, if you want to. Thanks. :)

    Timberwolves' 6 first games.
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 04, 1997 (AP) -- The Timberwolves have played their first 6 games this season, winning just 2 of them. They're all quite unrested, because of the games that they have 6 days straight, but fortunately there's only 1 game left, which is also one of the top games to watch. Read the quick recap of the played games below.
Timberwolves got off to a good start, outscoring the Nuggets in the first half 33-30, and in the second 37-32, but in the second half Bobby Jackson and LaPhonso Ellis carried the Nuggets to a 129-111 win. Jackson stunned the Timberwolves' fans with 34 points and 7 rebounds. LaPhonso Ellis scored 31, and grabbed just as much rebounds as Jackson. Timberwolves' Peeler led his team in scoring with 31 points out of 10-18 shooting. Garnett almost finished with a triple-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. This was also the last game for Gugliotta, Porter and Parks as Timberwolves.

You have a very slim chance of winning when you shoot .387 percent from the field, and .214 from behind the arc. That's right, there was no miracle or anything, as the Timberwolves fell behind in the beginning of the game, and never took the lead, losing the game 99-91. The TrailBlazers were led by Arvydas Sabonis and Rasheed Wallace, who both finished with 19 points. Sheed held team-high 10 rebounds, and had 2 assists, steals, blocks and turnovers. Sabonis grabbed 5 boards and dished out 5 assists. Jalen Rose led the Wolves with 21 points, shooting 11-12 from the charity stripe. He also grabbed 9 rebounds. Kevin Garnett jammed 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Stephon Marbury led the Timberwolves in field goals attempted, taking 22 attempts, hitting just 8 of them. Even though the poor shooting, he managed to score 18 points.

Another game with poor shooting and offense overall, which leads the Wolves to a blowout. Starbury finished with team-high 29 points, and also dished 5 assists. Garnett dropped 16 points and clasped 12 rebounds. Anthony Peeler had team high 3 steals, and Michael Stewart came off the bench with team high 2 blocks. Latrell Sprewell stir up with 30 points and 7 rebounds. B.J Armstrong took 6 shot attempts from the field, hitting three of them, all of his attempts were 3 pointers.

" If you play good defense, you beat the Clippers. " none said that, but that's what every Timberwolf understood by himself. In the first game, the T-Wolves forced Clippers to shoot .301 percent from the field and .273 from the three point line, in the second .349 from the field and .222 from the three point line. Timberwolves averaged 10 steals and 7.5 blocks over two games, which everyone can say is good, and shot over .400% from the field both times. Best performer was most probably Stanley Roberts, who scored 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in the first game. The best Clipper was Brent Barry, scoring 14 in the first game and 17 in the second. An interesting fact is, that the Wolves shot .438% from the three point line in the first game, and .438% from the field in the second game.

As Shaquille O'Neal is out for 6 weeks with Torn Achilles Tendon, and Kobe Bryant played the 6th man role, the Timberwolves had auspicious thoughts about the game. Therefore, they were wrong, as the Lakers were better by just 4 points. Nick Van Exel finished with a double-double with 25 points and 11 assists, shooting 9-14 from the field and 4-5 from the three point line. Robert Horry scored 21 and grabbed 9 rebounds. Kobe Bryant scored just 12 points off the bench. Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves with 21 points and 15 rebounds, followed by Stephon Marbury's 19 points and 7 assists. Stanley Roberts once again finished with a double-double, as he picked up 15 points and 10 rebounds.

    Top game to watch
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 05, 1997 (AP) -- One of the Top Games To Watch, and it sure was. Sure, neither team played as good as they could have played, but all those dunks, hustle plays and everything, sure made it an enjoyable game.

" It was quite easy, you know, " Garnett said shortly after the games end " We tried hard, even though we didn't have to, because as I said, it was the easy. We didn't play up to our skills, but neither did the Suns. "

Garnett finished with 20 points and 16 rebounds. 12 of his rebounds were taken from the offensive board, which means he had as much offensive rebounds as the whole Suns team together. He had 18 shot attempts, and he converted half of them.
    Image
Garnett avoiding the block and getting 2 points.
Jalen Rose was right up there with Kevin Garnett, also scoring 20 points, but grabbed less rebounds, with 8, and shot better, converting 6 from 11 from the field, 6-7 from the free throw stripe. Rose did a terrific job guarding Ceballos, who went 3-13 from the field and 0-5 from the three point line. Ceballos, therefore managed to have game-high 4 steals and 2 blocks. In the end of the third quarter, Jalen Rose made a stunning windmill dunk on a fast break, as he was wide open.
    Image
Jalen Rose with a dazzling 3 point play.
Stephon Marbury scored 20 points, handed out 6 assists and grabbed 4 boards. Yet again, his shooting was quite improvable, but not too bad as he took less shots than usual, shooting 7-17 from the field and 0-2 from behind the arc. Surprisingly, he missed all his three free throws. Marbury got into foul trouble in the first quarter, as he got all his three fouls then, but he didn't get any fouls after he came back in. Because of the foul trouble, Marbury played just 33 minutes.
    Image
Stephon Marbury crossing Nash and finishing the play.
The Suns were led by Jason Kidd's 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Kidd was followed by Antonio McDyess who sang 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Chapman and Robinson both had 10 points a piece. Cliff Robinson also had 10 boards.

jonthefon, Yeah, Nash and Kidd together can't be too good. Nashes overall is just 73, though. Thanks. :)

Lamrock, I will make the headlines today, and change the " Game Recaps " to pictures, etc. Btw, I really appreciate that. Thank you. ;D

    Top game to watch
PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 14, 1997 (AP) -- The biggest matchup that everyone excepted to see, Allen Iverson against Stephon Marbury, did not live up to expectations. Both stars got into foul trouble very early, and sat out most of the game. Losing to the Sixers was the last road-trip game, before going home.

Despite playing just 17 minutes, 76ers sophmore captain, Allen Iverson, managed to take 18 attempts and convert 10. He finished with 23 points, 5 steals and 3 assists. He got fouled out very early, as mentioned above, but he was the reason why the Timberwolves lost, and the Sixers won.
    Image
Allen Iverson with 2 three pointers and 1 field goal in his fourth quarter heroics.

Even though Stephon Marbury got more playing time than his rival, he didn't step up as well as Iverson. Stephon Marbury took twice less shot attempts with 9, and also made twice less, as he converted 5 shots out of 9 attempts. He finished with 11 points, 3 assists and 3 boards. Nothing good about the stats, but as both, Marbury and Iverson are well known for their crossovers, Marbury got his chance to prove that.
    Image
Marbury braking Iverson's ankles and taking off from miles out to lay it in.
Allen Iverson led the 76ers and won the Player of the game award, nevertheless, the real pearl to watch was Jerry Stackhouse. Stackhouse stacked up 27 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. The stats are good, but when Iverson was out, he single-handedly held the crowd on their feet. A 10 year old boy could decorate his room with all those posters in one game. With 2 seconds to go, Stackhouse banked home a 35-footer to improve his numbers.
    Image
Stackhouse with an absolutely fabulous three point play.
Even Stackhouse's 27 wasn't a game high, as Kevin Garnett splashed 35 points to go with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 33 minutes. His game clearly showed that he was the greatest Minnesotan out on the field. He wasn't the only one to play good, as Jalen Rose followed him with a 21 point performance, scoring atleast 1/3 of his points in the fourth quarter.

" I'm going to say what they often say, " said Garnett, who scored a game-high 35. " We played good, but our opponents played better. We didn't play bad at all, but you know.. They were just better. I'm not saying, that we couldn't have won the game, but the Sixers grabbed the win. "

Player swap between Warriors and Cavs
CLEVELAND, Nov. 17, 1997 (AP) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Friday a trade that got them a 6'5" shooting guard Latrell Sprewell for Shawn Kemp.
    To the Cavaliers.
    Image
    To the Warriors.
    Image
" We're very excited about the trades we made, " said Cavs coach Mike Fratello. " Sprewell is a good fit to our team needs, we needed a star, a captain that can help the team. Sprewell is the right player in our team to score 20 a game and carry the team to a win. I think he and the Big Z can pan out very well. "

" I'm happy to be here in Cleveland. I'd like to have a chance of playing in a bigger market, but I still like it up here. I'm really looking forward to make a good pair with Ilgauskas on the court. " said Latrell Sprewell himself. " I'm going to do all I can to get the team as much W's as possible. "

Sprewell has 5 years left in his contract, and the time his contract will be over, he'll be 32 years old. Shawn Kemp has 4 years left to his contract, and is as well aged 27, which means his contract will end at the age of 31.

" I felt like we need to shake up a little bit, " told Warriors coach P.J Carlesimo. " We needed a good, strong forward, and that's exactly what we got in Shawn Kemp. He's big and strong and will help our team without a doubt. "

Timberwolves go for a winning streak.
PORTLAND, Nov. 24, 1997 (AP) -- After playing against the 76ers, and losing the match, the Wolves tried to bounce back and win some home games. That's right what happened, as the Timberwolves won all 4 home games and 1 road-game in Portland, before going to Utah and play an important match that's known as a top game to watch for the fans. The most valuable player for the Timberwolves was Stephon Marbury without a doubt, scoring over 25 points every game and carrying his team to a win. Mostly the Timberwolves even crushed their opponents. See the results and statistics of the games below.

7 players score double digits, Wolves win by 40.Timberwolves fly the Rockets out of the arena.Wolves show clutch, cool the Grizzlies.Starbury scores over 30 again, W's W.Wolves manage to freeze the TrailBlazers.

kobe16, alright, thanks.

A pretty poor month recap coming. I'm quite tired of this dynasty to be really honest. I can't wait for the season to end so I could let KG to go and trade Steph, because I don't really enjoy playing with either one of them, and .. It's quite useless to play with a team that I don't even like (anymore).

I've thought of starting a new one with.. Chicago Bulls, because of Derrick Rose mainly. Then there's the Heat - Wade, Beasley, Livingston. Dump Marion to get something, would be interesting for at least for myself too, and if it'd be interesting for me I think you could enjoy it more as well. If I'd start a dynasty, I'd probably choose the Chicago Bulls, or maybe the Boston Celtics. Rondo and Rose are the reasons.

But as long as I haven't started one, just tell me if I should start one, leave it, continue this or whatever, just tell me your opinion. I'm not giving any promises that I would play with the Bulls (or the C's) for 100 years, because I've already left behind tons of words like that .. Well, not really, but I haven't completed many dynasties, and I should.

So, tell your opinion, and I hope you have a good laugh over the coming month recap.

October/November top Timberwolves' games to watch
MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 01, 1997 (AP) -- Despite being a co-captain, Stephon Marbury is the main topic. His future with the Wolves is a big question, because "He's here to dish, not bounce, bounce, bounce and then throw a lob over the shotclock or bricking a poor shot." Example, in the last game of the month, in LA, Stephon Marbury had 8 turnovers and only sang 4 out of 15 shot attempts. He was also 0-8 from behind the arc.
Kevin Garnett, who's supposed to lead the team, doesn't get ball as much as he would want. Even though he gets along with Marbury off the court, on the court, it's a whole different story. Marbury has taken 100 more shots than he has, but has hit only a few more. He also leads the league in field goals attempted.

While the talent of the roster doesn't fit, the Timberwolves are still 11-8 and hold the fourth seed in the west, but that's just the first month. The only players that have done quite good, are Kevin Garnett and Stanley Roberts. Kevin Garnett is second in the MVP candidates, and would most likely lead it, if there wouldn't be Stephon "Bouncer" Marbury. Garnett averages slightly over 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Stanley Roberts can't dance with his minutes per game, but he can dance with his other statline. Almost a double double, scoring over 10 points and grabbing over 9 rebounds, rather good.

The other MVP candidates next to Kevin Garnett are - The first place belongs to Chris Webber, who has carried the Washington Wizards to a not-so-good record, 6-9, but has done that almost on his own. He is averaging 28.1 points, 14.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.47 blocks and 2.27 steals. Scottie Pippen holds the third place with exactly 10 points less than Chris Webber, 18.1, next to 7.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.95 blocks and 2.84 steals. Antonie Walker at the fourth place, averages 23.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.94 blocks and 1.39 steals. Roy Tarpley holds the fifth place with 20.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 1.76 blocks and 2.12 steals.

Michael Jordan leads the league in scoring with 32.1 PPG, but as he's been on the injured list for a little time, Chris Webber and many others easily beat him in the total points. Chris Webber has 422 points, and counting. Chris Webber also leads the rebounding category with 14.9, but Marcus Camby is also up there with 14.4 RPG. The top rookie candidate, Tim Duncan, leads the league in blocking with 2.73 BPG. John Stockton leads the league in SPG with 2.88, while Mookie Blaylock beats him by 1.9 in the assist category. Blaylock averages the league best 7.7 APG.

Not many trades have been done, but there was one really notable, which sent Shawn Kemp to the Warriors and Latrell Sprewell to the Cavaliers. More information about the trade can be found here. Other trades include the Warriors trading Foyle to the Bobcats for Ehlo. The Magic also acquired Kalvin Cato from the TrailBlazers for Maxwell. There was also one release, as the New Jersey Nets cut a 'scrub', J. Haley.

The Indiana Pacers led the power ranking with a record of 14-2, all thanks to Reggie Miller. Opposite, the worst record in the league belongs to the Sacramento Kings, who stand at the 29. place in the power rankings, in front of the New Orleans Hornets 4-12 record. The Kings have as much wins as the Hornets, but three more losses, which makes it 4-15.

_____

Sorry for that poor recap, without pictures and everything. I just explained everything without putting any serious work into it. Though, I wasted a couple of hours, to be honest .. Hope you liked it ( possibly the last recap of this dynasty. )
