Chicago Signs Free Agent Leon Powe

As shown in the summer league games, chicago needs some inside help, and so John Paxson got them former Celtic Leon Powe

Image

Powe was not selected in the Recent Fantasy Draft, the draft which turned the NBA League Upside Down, there had been rumors as to whether he would go play in Europe, but those rumours were shattered today as Chicago announced that they had signed the 6"8 Power Forward to a 2 year 2 million dollar contract with an 8% raise

Paxson - "I am glad that we got a talented young player in Powe, we are hoping that he brings about energy and athleticism to the team"

Powe - "I thank the Bulls for giving me this opportunity to play here, i'll do everything i can to help the team win"

Powe will still be wearing number 0

you have a great team too, but it looks like "Bucks" could have the best roster. ;)

Valor wrote:Lebron, Stuckey Number Changes?

Rumors have began around the league that Lebron James, and Rodney Stuckey, are about to change their Jersey Numbers as they are retired.

Lebron currently wears number 23, which, as we all know, belonged to a somebody that goes by the name of Michael Jordan, the greatest player to play the game. While Rodney Carney goes with the number 4, worn by Jerry Sloan, the current head coach of the Utah Jazz.

The question out there is, if indeed King James needs to switch, what number would he switch to? would he move up a number and wear 24 like Kobe? or would he wear the Other Number that Michael Jordan had worn, the number 45.

More on this would be coming soon.

Lebron and Rodney Stucky might be changing numbers soon due to retired ones

You say Rodney Stuckey in the beginning and then he changes to Rodney Carney... :?

Image

The Chicago Bulls have just acquired Latvian Center Andris Biedrins via trade from the LA Clippers.

The Deal, involved Chicago sending away small forward Rodney Carney and SG Rodney Stucky to the Clippers in exchange for Biedrins.
Biedrins is expected to bring front court help, defensive intensity, and rebounding to Chicago.

GM John Paxson commented in the press conference "we are glad to add a great player in Biedrins to our roster, he's a great guy to be around with, we think he'll enjoy this city and Chicago would embrace him"

i havent decided on my starting 5 for the regular season yet, will see on opening night :D

yeah i did, never really liked the Rodneys, only picked them since they were best option while in the FD, needed to trade both to make salaries even, i dont want my cap space to go down, incase i want to gain someone from FA or take on a bigger salary via trade

Defense, Rebounding Leads Chicago to Victory

Chicago looked great in their season opener at home, getting a 108-92 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, and they did it with defense and hustling.

Chicago had 15 steals and 4 blocks, and also forced the 76ers to take 77 shots in order to get their final score of 92 points. The Bulls rebounded the ball well, grabbing a total of 33 rebounds, including 11 offensive rebounds, Emeka led the team with 11 rebounds, in which 6 of them were offensive, he also had a game high 3 blocks, and would have been Player of the game if it wasn't for the amazing play from the newest addition on the team - Andris Biedrins.

Andris played superbly in his debut as a Bull, scoring 16 points, had 6 rebounds, and a game high 5 steals, yes, thats right, 5 steals from Andris Biedrins.

Chicago played a 2-2-1 Half court Trap defense formation today, and it proved to be working as they forced turnovers after turnovers leading to fast break opportunities, this is where Biedrins showcased his abilities to finish, all his points came either from fast breaks, or himself grabbing an offensive rebound and slamming it down.

Chicago also had great bench productivity, even though the players as individuals did not score as much as the starters for the sixers, they had 6 players scoring double digits, and almost all of their players scoring some points, which was something the sixers did not do, dirk had 30 points and 12 rebounds for the 76ers, and led the game in scoring, but it appeared to be not enough, as they had only one player coming on from the bench, who only scored 2 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.

(i will try adding on some screenshots from the games later, cant get imageshack to work properly right now... )

The Other Big Story Tonight was that Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bull Legend, had agreed to allow Lebron James, the first overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Remake Fantasy Draft, to keep on using the number 23, which was retired under Michael Jordan's Name on November 1st, 1994. Jordan had said that due to the NBA Remake, this was a special case, and sensing great potential in Lebron James, he would like him to "take over the number 23 in Chicago".

Lebron James leads Bulls to victory over Bryant's Bucks

Image

It was a very tight game on Saturday night when the Chicago Bulls played in Milwaukee against Kobe Bryant and the Bucks, Kobe was on fire in the first half, scoring 13 in the first quarter and finished the half with 23 points; both teams were even in terms of the score, 21-21 in first quarter and 29-29 in the second.

Things started to change, however, after the half time break, when coach Scott Skiles decided to switch King James to the SG position and play Yi Jianlian at SF, in order for Lebron to shut down the on fire Kobe Bryant, and to contain Rudy Gay. The strategy paid off when Kobe went scoreless during the whole of the 3rd, and Gay finished the game with just 10 points on 4 of 13 shooting. While on the offensive end, Lebron got to work and started scoring with ease. the Bulls took the lead at the end of the 3rd

However, late in the 4th quarter the Kobe-led Bucks went on a run to take a two point lead with 1 minute remaining, Lebron then hit a clutch 3 to take a 1 point lead, and played superb defense on Bryant , causing him to miss 3 consecutive shots, Lakers sent the Bulls to the line 2x in the final 30 seconds, and the bulls took a 3 point lead with 3.3 seconds to go, they held on to the lead and won the game as Kobe missed a 3 point attempt to tie the game at the buzzer.

Both a positive and a negative. You have solid recaps and with real teams, I'm sure you can make something pretty good. Good luck with your next team. Just don't do Hinrich+Hughes+Noce for Beasley+Marion+Haslem+Chalmers as the Bulls. :P
