Shaq in MVP Standings?Wow thats almost as wierd as Chris Webber winning West Player of the Month. Its wierd because as soon as Biedrins goes out with an injury,Webber takes the starting role and averages 23 points and 9 rebounds. Also, where is Lebron in all of this? He should have been in atleast one of these categories.Sorry that I couldnt get the picture for the East Rookie but hes a created player.

The playoffs actually amazed me, especially the Cavaliers vs the Celtics in the Semifinals. Some of the series ended the opposite of how they actually did in the 2008 playoffs, like the Nuggets and Lakers, Mavericks and Hornets, and the Cavaliers vs Celtics. I thought the Spurs were going to win or if anything the Celtics. Most of the series went to a game seven, to be exact, five series.

First Round
Western Conference
Image
-The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 4-1.
Image
-The Dallas Mavericks defeated the New Orleans Hornets 4-3.
Image
-The Phoenix Suns defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 4-3.
Image
-The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-3.
Eastern Conference
Image
-The Boston Celtics defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 4-0.
Image
-The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat 4-2.
Image
-The Detroit Pistons defeated the Toronto Raptors 4-1.
Image
-The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Washington Wizards 4-0.

I would never think the Nuggets would make it this far. Since the Celtics lost, Im going with the Pistons to win the championship. Who do you think is going to win?

The Semi-finals brought a lot of shocking moments and two incredible nail-biting series. The Mavericks-Spurs series showed a team that could not contain the other team's star players. Antoine Wright, who won the starting position as SG, allowed Ginobili to easily average 24 PPG in the series.
The Nuggets once again showed that they could win without defense, taking their second series to seven games once again. The Suns-Nuggets series is arguably the best series so far. This series contained mostly offense with almost all games having both teams scoring more than 105 points.
The Celtics, who were predicted to win the championship this year with the return of Reggie Miller, played an awful series against the Cavaliers. James and Szczerbiak led their team, both averaging more than 20 PPG.
The Hawks, one of the upcoming teams in the East, showed that they can play great defense and score as well. With the addition of Bibby and signing of Vlade Divac, the Hawks finished second in Eastern Conference. Coming off a sweep against the Wizards, the Hawks played a long seven game series with the Pistons. The Pistons would fight back though and show that they still have it in them to win another chamionship.

With only two teams left, who will be the 05-06 NBA Champion? Leave your guess.

Up to this point, the Nuggets have been the biggest surprise defeating teams like the Lakers and the Suns. The Nuggets will have to change their approach against once of the best defensive teams in the NBA. All eyes will be on J.R Smith who will be guarding Manu Ginobili.
Two of the top teams in the East will be going head to head in the Cavaliers-Pistons series. The Cavaliers, were a team that fell down a few spots in the standings but picked up the pace in the playoffs beating the Heat and sweeping the Celtics. Now the Pistons will have to deal with the scoring abilities of Wally Szczerbiak and their star player, Lebron James. Eric Snow, who won the starting position over Delonte West, will have to contain Billups who is averaging 22 points in the playoffs so far. Will the Cavaliers be able to out-play the Pistons bench or will they fall short of the Championship?

Detroit-Nuggets, the last series to determine the 05-06 NBA Champions. The favorites in this series were the Pistons who clearly had more experience. Iverson and Martin, who both made it to finals earlier in their careers, who have to lead their team. The key matchup for this series will be McDyess vs Martin. Will McDyess be able to defend the big man who is putting up incredible numbers so far in the playoffs? Or will Rip Hamilton out play the young and inexperienced J.R Smith?
