Great job with the free agency. Well since you had Kidd and Jefferson off the books, you had some to work with.

Good luck preparing for the next season.

Sun May 25, 2008 4:17 am

@-PeeBo -Thanks man. :)

@Martti. - Thanks, I also got 9MIL from Magloire.. so, 9M from Magloire, 20M from Kidd and.. how much was it, 15M ? from RJ, and we were -24M 07-08 if I am right, so yeah, it's kind a nice to deal with so much cap space. :) I am kind a happy that J-Kidd retired though, I was going to trade him anyways. Anyways, thanks !

Keep on with the comments ! :)

Nets working out for the season.

The stadium is ready as you see, but are the Nets ? The New Jersey Nets
are working out in their gym, merging together as a team and getting fit
for the coming season. The team has a week to get ready for the coming
summer league with 3 games for each team. After that, the season is here and the Nets
are trying to be ready.

Image
Everything is under practise, a young team, could say under work, hard
work.

Image
Training room, right, big men sure know the path to the room, Nets have
it.

Image
Drills ? Frank is doing drills and setting up strategies for his team, way up.

Image
" One.. two.. three ! " - " NETS ! "

Image
And then, just lay back and let your muscles rest.

Image

" Eh, yeah, we're working hard here with the team. I am supposed to be
the captain of the team too ! *laugh* Well, we're doing good work here
together and our coach is doing good work also, I think everyone enjoys
eachother and has fun. " - Captain Carter said.

Image

" We're merging together like a sticker album. The rookies Agostino and
Felix get along like brothers, funny to see all these new and young guys
here too, but I think we have lots of talent. We got two very fast guys on
the backcourt, Monta and Felix, me on the small forward position, Krstic on
the power forward as a shooting big man, and Swift on the center
position, backed up by Agostino. Oh and by the way, I have to admit, that
Agostino guy is sick ! None of our team could stop him one on one,
daamn, crazy ! *laugh* " - He told to the media.

Captain Carter's sickness wasn't enough for the win.

Image

First game of the summer league, Nets can't find the Network. After
playing less than 5 minutes, Clippers guard Cuttino Mobley fell and hurt
his knee, the injury looked bad in the beginning, but Mobley was able to
return in the second half.

With Carter having game high 38 points, he also had the 'honours' for
game high 7 turnovers out of teams 22 turnovers, which means the Nets
had just 1 less turnover than assists (23). Most of the assists were made
by the starting rookie, Felix Rey who had 12 assists, who also had 18
points. Rey was fouled out in the final 5 minutes, maybe that's when the
Nets already lost, losing their starting PG. Shaun Livingston from the
Clippers, had team high 29 points, 9 assists and 5 steals, even better, 0
turnovers, which proved, Livingston can be a true point guard, no matter
his height. Chris Kaman had team high 20 rebounds, followed by Elton
Brand with 13. The Clippers had 54 rebounds against Nets 45, though
Clippers had 0 blocks against Nets 8, led by Agostino Dai, who also had 12
points.

The Nets will next play against Shawn Marion and the Nuggets.

Felix Rey didn't fail guarding his comparison, Allen Iverson, though he got The Answer.

Image

With the Nets being 0-1, and the Nuggets 1-0, the Nuggets crushed the
Nets to 0-2 and went 2-0 themselves after winning a tight competition
against Hawks 2 days ago.

Again, the Nets lacked defense and their synergy didn't look too good as
they had way too much turnovers, counting 25 against Denver's 16. This
time Nets had they're hands on the boards with 43 rebounds against
Denver's 38, but still could improve for the season, if they want something
out of it.

Denver's highest scorer JR Smith, who started as a SG, finished with 29,
Iverson had 25, Carmelo Anthony had 18, and so did Linas Kleiza who
had the 6th man role. Again, Vince Carter aka. Captain had huge game
with 44 points and 7 rebounds and played his team leader role excellent,
but didn't get a shot for the W. Other scorers from the Nets were Felix Rey
with 16, who had 5 assists and 2 steals, but was in foul trouble for entire
game, Ellis finished with 11 and Swift with 10. Shawn Marion made
Agostino Dai feel bad, as Dai had 6 turnovers which all came from steals
by Marion, who finished with 12 points, 6 steals and 6 rebounds.

The Nets will wear home practise jersey against Atlanta Hawks on 17th.

Okay..

Tell me how many readers are here ? Right now there are just 8 comments against 24 posts by me, feels a little bit.. boring to me and I would like to see some comments, please :D Thanks, if there aren't many reading, I'll most likely stop it.

Wed May 28, 2008 3:38 am

Hmm, here's a thing. You have to do this for youself not for the others. Back in my first dynasty I was so hoping for comments and respond but it didn't work out because I was expecting so much and ended up disapointed. In my new dynasty I've decided I won't expect anything, I'll just enjoy it and try to make interesting as possible.

Don't worry if you got only 8 responses, you will eventually get more and more comments. Just do it for yourself and enjoy it!

I am another reader, I think there is more of us, but just don´t comment(like me). On the topic, you have done a pretty good job, Carter is on fire, but still he isn´t enough. I really love your summer league court on that AI vs Rey picture, whose is it? I think you should definately continue it, I like this one much more than your Pacers dynasty. You have two decent rookies, eventually you´ll start winning, don´t worry. You have turned another page of Nets franchise, a good one!

Wed May 28, 2008 4:36 am

Well, thanks ! :) I would like to get the comments though, it just makes me feel like.. alone or smth when I don't get them, but thank you both. :P

Oh and btw, the court on the picture and the one ( Adidas 3 stripe stadium or smth ) is EA's :P (live 07)

Then, I'll keep doing this.

Monta Ellis was definetly the x-factor against the Hawks.

Image

" I told them to take care of the ball, " Frank said. " As I said, I put them
into the place where they can get the win, because that's what the wanted
from this game, not to finish the summer league with 0 wins. " he told
before taking a sip from his gatorade bottle and continuing: " Everybody
knew they're role, everybody knew what they have to do, none was doing
careless things and nothing unnecessary was made. If we play like this
during the regular season, we are capable of having many W's, right. "
and he finished his interview.

This time the Nets did everything their coach told them to, and that's what
led them to success. Team captain Vince Carter finished with 34 points
and 'the second captain', Monta Ellis, with team high 35 points. Felix Rey
finished with 19 points and 12 assists, Agostino Dai with 12 points and 6
rebounds, Nenad Krstic with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Acie Law
from the Atlanta Hawks finished with career- and game high 37 points,
shooting 16 from 43 attempts ! Joe Johnson had 27 points and Horford
had 22 with 14 rebounds.

Wed May 28, 2008 8:01 pm

08-09 team previews.

Image

Strong lineup, strong bench. 'What do they need then ?' is the question
that might come in your mind. Well, they're positions are rather wrong,
and they should pull off few trades to get one more backup or even a
starter PG for a SF, as they're SF is loaded with 3 good players, J. Smith,
F. Cruz(R) and J. Stackhouse, everyone is rated high. Most likely the
team will end up in playoffs and be eliminated on the first - second round.

Image

The big three is still there, and they have help from Rondo at the point
and rookie Ripley at the center. Like Hawks, they should give more time to
their superstar Kevin Garnett, who will play just around 30 minutes, but
probably is not going to fail. Now with the Celtics having a decent center
and an improved PG, and every spot filled nicely, I don't see them not
going to the finals.

Image

Another very talented team, though in a need of a backup C. Every spot
is filled with potential, but I see them failing without having a special
gamestyle, unless they turn into what they want more, defense or offense.
I think they will not get to the playoffs and will be in the same position for
the next year.

Image

No question, very good team. They have got an inside stopper, good team
defensibly overall, they're PG is a playmaker and a shooter who might be
the next Steve Nash (Kirk Hinrich), Luol Deng at the SF position and
Andres Nocioni at the SG position, I see them going far.

Image

With LeBron James getting just 60% of the playing time at the SF position,
it's not a real surprise they haven't got far. They need to get a young PG
who can set up assists after losing Boobie. They still have Hughes' huge
contract which could be traded for something good. If James and the Big Z
work it out together, the Cavaliers will have a spot in the playoffs, and
probably not going to get eliminated fast.

Image

This team, if it doesn't work out this year, they are probably going to
rebuild it, and hey, they can do it for sure with these talented old players,
Nowitzki, Terry, Howard and so on. If they want to be succesful, they
should cut Keith Van Horn's contract and give Nowitzki the minutes. For
some reason I see them being out of the playoff race.

Image

No. This team is built bad. Carmelo Anthony is playing under Shawn
Marion and gets just around 15 minutes, Allen Iverson plays the point and
doesn't start as a shooting guard, surprisingly he was even resigned, JR
Smith gets around 35 minutes with his bad shot selection and everything.
Still, this team has to be rebuilded and it's bad contracts are Isiah-like. (no offense)

Image

Yes ! That's how a team is built. Every spot is filled with good players, they
can play D and offense aswell, they can shoot the ball, pass the ball, grab
it from the boards. I see them facing the Celtics in the Eastern finals conference.

Image

Hmm, very versatile team, but still it doesn't make sense. They're spots
are filled nicely, none has too much minutes, neither too little amount of
them, just like Dallas, I think they will be out of the playoff race.

Image

Just like the Pistons, the Rockets are built very well. They have got good
defense, good offense, nothing is bad and if the team stays healthy, they
will be unstoppable on offense, and 'unkillable' offensively. I think they will
be one of the top seeds in western conference.

Image

Good team, good potential. If everyone stays healthy they'll be good.
They should also sign a mid-level expection, backup C to play behind Troy
Murphy. They should also improve their speed if they want to play fast
gamestyle, if not then improve their defense. If this kind of gamestyle fits,
the talented Pacers will not fail.

Image

Summer league champions, led by Elton Brand who is a starter at PF and
gets a piece of C. The problem is, Chris Kaman doesn't have a real C
backup, so he gets lots of minutes, which tires him. Therefore, the team is
very talented at every position and I see them getting far if they play
without injuries.

Image

Will Kobe be able to get another ring with Odom, Gasol and Bynum ?
None knows, but we know that with 3 superstars and 1 rising star, it's not
going to be a fail. We'll see if it counts true, and if the Lakers get far with
their current roster.

Image

Talented, young team. Mostly young teams that are just put together,
won't get far in the first season, we'll see if that counts on Rudy Gay and
the Grizzlies too. I see them succeeding after 3 years.

Image

Three main men, Wade, Martin and Mourning are trying to repeat their
championships two seasons ago, but will they be able to do it ? Not sure,
because they still aren't fully loaded and if there are injuries, we'll see a
lot of losses from the Heat. If they get a SF, they'll be good, and a backup
center wouldn't hurt either. I see them failing this season because of
injuries, and after 2 seasons they will be one of the top teams, again.

Image

Probably the most talented team that was left out of the playoffs, but
thats the chemistry they haven't found yet. If this continues, they'll live in
the offseason for next 5 years, but if they find the chemistry and the
teamwork and everything, they'll most likely be a good team.

Image

Yet another talented team, that was left out of the playoffs and won the
1st draft pick. This year, they'll try to work out. The team is led by two
Jeffersons, Richard Jefferson, who was traded to Minnesota last season,
and Al Jefferson, who has always been a Timberwolf.

Image

With all positions filled, the Nets might look ready, but no. They are
looking to pull off a trade to get themselves a half court team, and there
already are some rumours about the trade. If the Nets are going to work
like they should, we see them going far enough.

Image

The Hornets, led by CP3, are looking for a good season after drafting a
nice SF, B. Shaw who plays even over Peja Stojakovic. Hornets'
gamestyle still continues, with a lot of passwork, but they don't have many
weak sides, and that's what might bring them up. If they play nice, they
might be one of the top seeds in western conference.

Image

Maybe.. Maybe, if everyone of the team could stay healthy, but still, we
guess it's a ' No Team ' until a few years until the bad contracts expire,
unless they are resigned. The team might go up after its rebuilded, which
might take time.

Image

Good, good team. The front court, Howard and Lewis take care of most
things, but it's not sure how they do it. They're offense is versatile and
with many options, and they have huge inside stopper, franchise played
Dwight Howard and one of the best defenders, Bruce Bowen, so the team
is probably going to end up high.

Image

Rookies D. Molony and D. Best joined with the offensive forces of Andre-
Miller and -Iguodala's, but still, the defense remains okay, as Iguodala
has it with his long arms and everything. If the team finds synergy, it's
going to be a nice team.

Image

Last year champs, the team hasn't had many changes. If the same thing
continues like it did the last time, the team is kind an unstoppable and will
end up very high. Some say the Phoenix Suns will repeat last year, and
will win the championships this year also, who knows ? Maybe they will.

Image

Youngest team still remains young, but now with new good players like Z.
Battie(R) and Kyle Korver, who is a terrific shooter and can score
anytime. Though, LaMarcus Aldridge, who starts as a PF has to backup
Greg Oden, and that gives Aldridge around 45 minutes, none knows if he
is capable, but if he is, don't be surprised if he is one of the most
improved players and the team leader, ofcourse.

Image

Like always, the team just isn't so gifted as it looks like. With lots of stars
and good players like Ron Artest, Mike Bybby, Kevin Martin and Brad
Miller, also Shareef, the team still isn't so shining, what's wrong with it
then ? We'll see, but maybe this year they start shining ? We'll see, again.

Image

The Spurs, not so many fans because of the gamestyle is boring, but with
a rookie A. Gomez, maybe it changes ? If their game continues, it shows
that they are just aiming to win, but do they ? No idea, until the playoffs.

Image

Kevin Durant's SuperSonics, well, rookie Stewart has joined with him, and
with Wilcox improving over his younger years, maybe the SuperSonics will
turn Super soon ? None knows, let's find out in the coming year(s).

Image

Chris Bosh and the Raptors are looking forward to a good season,
because they have got talent and they have got their plans and gamestyle
set on offense mainly, but that doesn't mean they don't have defense,
their defense is okay and it works out, so you are looking at a strong
team. Most likely it's going to be a good team in few years when they get
even more talent.

Image

This team has a lot of talent, but they still got eliminated in the playoffs.
With Deron Williams at the point, AK-47 at the SF, Boozer at the PF and
Okur at the center, the team is extremly good with lots of potential. Now
they have N. Legrand, a rookie on SG position, so the team is going to be
stronger than before, maybe they don't get eliminated this time ?

Image

Another team with good potential and talent. With Arenas, Jamison and
Butler doing their thing, the team is looking strong enough to get to the
playoffs, but I don't think people see them going far this year, but hey,
we'll see and the time tells, maybe the do ?

With the offseason over, every team is ready for the season, and we'll see who is the chosen one this year !

Wed May 28, 2008 8:40 pm

So what is next? regular season? You are still weak at C and Pf positions, imho. But good luck and let the fishing begins. (Y)

Wed May 28, 2008 9:00 pm

Well, I got plans, don't worry about the positions :). And yeah, regular season is next and I'll possibly start a blog with someone too, and well, I will do a trade, a good one (imo) that will make it balanced and good, also chemistry will work out I think. Thanks.

Nenad Krstic's blog.

Image

Hello all and welcome to my blog !

Hey, I'm Nenad Krstic, if you're a fan then you should know who I am, a
7'0" PF for the Nets, and I started a blog this season too. I'm going to
write everything here that I want to, and well, here we go with the season
around the corner.

*** 08-09 season.

Well, with the season coming, we (Nets) have everything set up, almost..
We have some rumours around our locker room with a trade coming right
away when the season begins, but it's not sure yet, I hope it's nothing
major and it doesn't include me, I like it here in New Jersey, y'know, heh.
I think the trade is going to bring us some decent big men, a starting
center or a power forward I think, so I would be the center ? Don't take it
as a fact as long as I know nothing, I just think it's going to be so. Fine.

*** players.

Well, we got nice players here right. I get along with almost all of them
and well, ofcourse there are someone I don't, few guys we all don't get
along with, like some groups who do and who don't, thats bad, I guess,
but the other group is smaller, I think we'll get rid of them, haha. No
offence. I like the new rookies though, they are like comics, every time
before the game they bring some right energy to us, even though they
know us as long as eachother, funny. Me and Vince are the main Nets
here if I am right, we were here last season and so, it feels good, Vince is
putting up big time numbers so far in the Summer League, hope he
continues with it in the regular season. Our last game was sick ! Monta
blew up with this stats, he had 35 ! And Rey, man is he a next Chris Paul ?
He was compared to Iverson, but I see him a better team player, maybe
that's because he has better players around him and he is just learning,
though, but so far he's really good you know. He had 12 assists twice in
the summer league, 5 against Nuggets or something like that, I didn't
check it though, so I might be wrong.

*** Next.

Okay okay, I'll stop for now, my next blog update will come after few days,
probably after the next 2-5 games I guess, we'll see ya then ! Bye from me,
and the Nets !

Trade between NJ Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.

Today, the first day of regular season, a trade was already pulled off
between two teams. Milwaukee Bucks send 1st draft pick Andrew Bogut
and aging Desmand Mason to the New Jersey Nets for lots of offensive
force, Josh Childress, Marcus Williams and Stromile Swift. Both teams
agreed with the trade, because it switches the teams style ready. The
Bucks will most likely be one of the top scoring teams, though the Nets will
be halfcourt team with few fast break runners. The trade was already
being rumored, but it wasn't sure until now, as both team's GMs agreed
the trade and it was pulled off.

Bogut brought the win with his excellent defensive play that set the Nets.

Image

" He ( Bogut ) did excellent job. We used to score around 120 every
game and so did our opponents, this time we faced a good defensive
team, Celtics, but they faced us, couldn't stop us even though we're a
defensive team too, but we stopped them. Celtics are good, but we won
them with our good play. The trade set our team to a good path to follow
for games after games. " - Lawrence Frank after the win against Celtics.

With Bogut, the Nets finally have their franchise made. Even though the
stats don't show out too much, the Nets' defense was extremly good, and
that's what explains Garnett's 5 turnovers and low score, he was guarded
hard.

Bogut finished with 2 blocks and 3 steals, 8 points and 9 rebounds. Nets'
highest scorer was Felix Rey with 20, who also had game high 10 assists,
and also had 3 steals next to Bogut. Vince Carter finished with just 15
points and 3 assists, Monta Ellis scored 14, Nenad Krstic 10, but shared
team high 9 rebounds with Bogut. Bogut actually had just 2 defensive
rebounds, if you have Maths, you can count his offensive rebounds. (7)

Ray Allen had game high 22 points and also had 3 steals, Rondo had 17
points, Pierce dropped 14, though he had game high 4 steals, but Nets
limited Garnett just to 10 points, but he had 9 rebounds and 3 game high 3
blocks.

'One man fastbreak' with a rawr slam.

Image

" It was so damn easy, man. We just ran to the D with the Knicks attempting
a fast break, we stopped them and we already were wide open on the
offensive end, they were on the halfcourt. Every open shot went in. "
-Vince Carter to the media.

With the Nets beating the Knicks by almost 20 points, actually 18, they
went to a promising record 2-0. The game looked so easy, as everything
was balanced for the Nets on both ends, little amount of turnovers, good
defensive play, lots of assist with a good turnover ratio and high score
next to good defense, this is a wonderland in the NBA.

The leading scorer was Vince Carter with game high 34 points, followed
by Monta Ellis' terrific performance, 20 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3
steals. Nenad Krstic went for a season-high 18 points, and repeated his
last game's 9 rebounds and had 1 block, Bogut finished with 14 points,
grabbed 10 rebounds next to game high 4 blocks. Felix Rey finished with
12 points, 8 assists and 2 steals. Nets shot the ball amazing with .634
percent from the field overall, .773% from 3pt range led by Vince Carter
with 13 made shots from 17 attempts.

Knicks leading scorer was Jamal Crawford with 19, followed by Stephon
Marbury who dropped 18 points, along with 4 assists and team high 3
steals. Eddy Curry also had 18 points, team high 10 rebounds and 2
steals. Randolph was limited to 8 points.
