Wow!! Incredible man! Good texts, good action. The frames for the pictures for that Blazers game are looking good too. About the other teams' trades, WTF?!?!? By the way, Arenas was traded, but you still played him when you played Washington?

And as for Wallace, if you score over 17 and get 13 boards and 2 blocks, I would keep him... but hey, that's my opinion.

what a thumping. hate to imagine what it would've been like had Gordon been 'Active' brrrrr...

actually though i kinda like that portland lineup (although i don't know what DET was thinking parting with Mr.Bigshot for... Darius Miles :eh: ? especially when they have Tayshaun); they're a SF away from doing some damage; okay maybe not 'damage'... causing teams some trouble

anyway, good W; keep rollin' (Y)

ahh.. and PLEASE don't ditch Big Ben just to bring in some cheap/unproven rooks!!! Gooden would definitely suffice though ;)

Yougi,
Arenas was traded but I failed to mention when he was traded. Let's see, I played Washington on January 10. He was acquired 12 days afterwards by the Golden State Warriors.

As for keeping Wallace, I'd love to ... if he actually played like that in real life. Ben Wallace should not be scoring 17.5 ppg. He should barely be scoring about 10 ppg but EA, for some odd reason, decided that if Ben Wallace has the ball in the paint, he should not be challenged. A good amount of the time when I get the ball inside to Wallace, my opponent leaves their defenders on the guy who passed the ball, leaving Wallace with nothing but a free trip to the basket. That's not realistic ... but this is the only Live I have and the only Live I will buy until EA gets their act together. I love Live but, just like Madden, I cannot stand how scripted animations are and how scripted some games feel. Tell me something if you will; if Ben Wallace was scoring 17.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg, would you not be putting more pressure on Wallace to create more mistakes from Wallace? I know that if I was the coach of the opposing team and Wallace was averaging those numbers, then you better damn well believe I am going to run plays that neutralize Wallace's effectiveness. Unfortunatly, I have to live with the programming EA did when it came to the AI's ability to read opposing tendencies. I won't say they did a poor job programming because if you ask me, the level of programming they do is elite compared to what I do (excel).

I will never understand the trade logic behind some of these trades.

Clutch,
I figured it was best to give Gordon his rest because Portland is just the start of a 6,000M+ road trip that my Bulls will be traveling and he was still listed with a sore wrist upon being cleared for his sprained wrist. I deduced it was just best to let him rest so I can see his best. :P

Chauncy Billups to Portland = Starting role
Darius Miles to Detroit = Bench behind Tayshaun Prince = Carlos Arroyo starting at Point

That was the most assinine trade of the season so far. Detroit lost a good battle tested point guard for a forward that sits on the bench and a point guard getting his first go at the starting position. Portland will not be making the playoffs. Detroit is in the playoffs but fighting to keep my Bulls out. So to see this trade go down, it's not enough to say I was in ->

As for trading Big Ben, no I will not be trading him for unproven rookies. I'd say next season, or even this off-season, I'll be looking to deal him for Hughes and Gooden ... that is if the Cavaliers will accept like they did in real life. I don't have a PF to go with Wallace though, except maybe Sweetney or Malik Allen. I am thinking Malik Allen because Sweetney has been money in the paint these past few games. I think that Sweetneys contract might put the trade too far over but Allen's might be enough. Who would you suggest since I don't have Joe Smith (I think he's with Minny)?

homicide1550,
Thanks dude! I had fun making the frame but I think it lacks something. I've been searching high and low for the Bulls font style they use on their jersey but the closest I could find was the one I used for my avatar. I want to include that font somewhere.

NBA SCOUTING EVALUATION
Season 2006-07 . thru February 4, 2007
===================================

The Jazz features a potent inside attack. In the previous matchup back on January 20, the Chicago Bulls were able to upset Utah by a score of 78-64. After the teams left the court at the half with Utah leading 36-29, Chicago re-entered with a fire outscoring their visiting opponents 49-28. Kirilenko was held under 12 points but still managed to bring down 11 boards and stuff two Luol Deng inside shots. Ben Gordon had an easy day against a weak perimeter defense, spreading the ball around, driving the lanes, and going perfect at the line but managed to find himself on the bench when he fouled out in the fourth but not before he dropped 29 on the Jazz defense.

A win for the Bulls will be crucial in their push for the playoffs. They caught the Jazz near the tail-end of their 9-game win streak with the previous matchup while this game comes about after Chicago dominated Portland. While Chicago averages six points more per game than Utah, the factor that could decide the outcome of this game is interior defense for Utah. If they hope for a victory, Utah will need to force shots to the outside where Chicago is shooting just under .250. Chicago is above the league norm in AST-to-FGM ratio and "Points Inside the Paint" and their losses really pile on when they fall below their own standards. If Utah can force Chicago away from their "pass first" gameplan, Utah will walk away +1 in the win column though any playoff hopes would still remain dashed.

Bulls Dominate Paint, Jams AK47 to win 89-75
Chicago's Adrian Griffin goes unnoticed

Image

(AP) In what was supposed to be the resurgence for the Jazz of Utah, but instead it was nothing but pure dominance in the paint for the flowing Chicago Bulls. While none of the Bulls players themselves took over the game with brilliance, it was a pure joy to watch a team play unselfish basketball. One such player that quietly caught the attention of one said reporter was Adrian Griffin.

Now here is a guy that was caught up in all of the movement near the beginning of the season. No one could, or ever should, forget the move that the Chicago Bulls made back in November when they decided to move combo-guard Kirk Hinrich, Andres Nocioni, and aging PJ Brown for PF/C Pau Gasol and Alexander Johnson, whom as been traded since. It was that move that forced the Bulls to start Luol Deng permenantly while moving Viktor Khryapa to second-fiddle. When PF Alexander Johnson was shipped to Cleveland in exchange for G Daniel Gibson, it was known within the office that Chicago planned to move him behind Gordon in order to give him a breather. Griffin knew his days were numbered as a Chicago Bull. The Bulls found themselves with six guards. Too slow to be guard, lack of any ability to consistently shoot the ball, and with almost no ability to drive to the basket, Coach Skiles left Griffin on the inactive list after officially changing his position to SF. Then came a move that no one saw coming except Skiles and Paxson. Sacramento came shopping for Viktor Khryapa offering a shooting guard with marginal shooting talent but absolutly zero defense. Paxson bit and Griffin found himself amidst a brand new opportunity.

Welcome to Utah, Griffin. In his first extended playing time of the season, Adrian did not take long to remind everyone that he still existed in the world of basketball. On five instances he managed to connect with the Bulls young rising rookie PF, Tyrus Thomas, one of which came during the third quarter that sent Thomas to the line for three after the Jazz's Carlos Boozer felt it necessary to stick his hand on Thomas' face in an attempt to cause him to miss the dunk. Although Tyrus is listed as third backup to the SF spot, Adrian Griffin made sure that Thomas stayed at the power. Following the final buzzer, Griffin was caught with that large goofy smile of his ... while being left all alone by the paparazzi. Meanwhile, Tyrus continued his streak of enjoying the media frenzy.

Of course, not all was bleak in Salt Lake City on that freezing February Night. While the Bulls focused on Andrei Kirilenko, aka AK47, and Utah tried to focus on the Bulls threesome of Gasol, Deng, and Gordon, another player had an oddly quiet astonishing night. Somehow Ben Gordon forgot that in order to play basketball you have to defend your basket almost as evenly as you attack your opponents basket. Ask the Jazz's Gordon Giricek what he feels about Ben Gordon's defense and you'll only get one word out of him: "porous". When you drop 39 points while going 9 for 9 from the free throw line, especially as an underachieving guard playing for a new contract likely elsewhere, porous is the only word that could come to mind. While Giricek was dropping buckets left and right, Kirilenko set about taking care of business as loudly as he could though the bang was not really all that loud. Gordon Giricek dropping 39 nearly uncontested points on a defense would typically spell victory for his team but in this case, it was merely just another wild night for unexciting players.

NBA SCOUTING EVALUATION

The latest addition of Dirk Nowitzki to the Sacramento Kings roster has been less than spectacular. While the Kings front court has undoubtedly gotten better since his arrival, the Kings saw no real improvement in with their scoring in front of the arc. One area of concern that is linked to their drop is their assists/fg ratio where their numbers are barely above the league standard. Their ability to get to the free throw line has increased some as Dirk and Brad Miller control the paint area. However, if Sacramento is looking for a victory, they will need to improve on spreading the ball around instead of looking to take over as individuals.

nice game (Y) gasol pretty much set up camp at the free throw line; solid contributions by your bench too; only 3 collective turnovers and lots of productivity compared to Utah's bench who... wait a minute... they didn't even play! lol

homicide1550,
Mike Bibby was shipped to Dallas in exchange for Dirky Dirk. Funny thing is that Dallas' records and numbers have jumped while Sacramento's have dipped. Both are playoff bound teams but Sacramento is still adjusting to their shaken up roster. I am more than a few games ahead of Sacramentos right now. I am slowly writing up reports for each game while continuing my schedule when I want to take a break from writing.

Clutch,
What I hate about Pau Gasol though, not sure how accurate he is in the game as compared to real life, but what I hate is how he is not a finisher. He'll go up for the inside shot but come down with a trip for two at the free throw line instead of attempting to make it three. As much hype as I've heard Gasol receive, he's certainly not aggressive. He's a good scorer, good at getting easy rebounds, and decent at blocking shots but he's not agressive in the paint. Like I said though, my NBA Live 2007 may not be an accurate reflection of his playing style. He's leading the NBA right now in FTM/A's with Luol Deng sitting in fourth. I like Deng's aggressiveness over Gasol's and Deng will usually finish shots unlike Gasol.

Something else about Gasol is that at 7'0", you'd think he'd at least dunk once in a while and considering he has a 70 rating in Dunk ability, it's somewhat suprising that every single instance where I accidently hit the #4 button (triangle for those on Playstation), he attempts a shoddy layup.

I understand that EA Sports decided to go back to their one-button for dunks/layups but what if they actually decided to map their buttons that it did not matter what shooting button you hit (jump, layup, dunk), depending on that player's shooting style, aggressiveness, location, and their offensive awareness, they'd attempt the shot they felt was necessary. To top that off, each of the three buttons would allow for multiple shot variations. I hate having to remember which button is the dunk, layup, and jump shot.

Anyways, I cannot wait until I snag a PS3 with Blue-Ray. My wife promised me that when I finish my damn degree, she will have no problem with me running out to grab one off the store shelves. At the rate I'm going, I'll be able to score a problem-free PS3, lol. I only need nine more classes to finish my BS anyways. Now I just need to stay as focused on school as I do on winning these pointless video games, lol.

Leading Four BULL-y Kings
Where was Nowitzki?

Image

(AP) There was no denying what was happening out there on the court. The Sacramento Kings, lead by Dirk Nowitzki, were BULL-ied into submission by the continuing dominance of the Chicago fearsome foursome. All four of the leading starters for the Chicago Bulls franchise worked the ball around the court as if masters of the mighty labyrinth that forever holds captive mythical creatures. There was absolutely nothing that Dirk Nowtizki could do, neither individually or by involving his teammates, to prevent the smooth ride of the Chicago Bulls offense.

Not one Chicago player went into double digits in rebounds. Astounding considering that teams that generally dominate in a game usually have a rebounder, sometimes two, in double digits. Not the Bulls. No, this time was not really all about one individual's effort out there on ARCO Arenas court. Everything, and I truly mean it, as a collective effort by the Chicago Bulls. Ben Wallace opened driving lanes. Ben Wallace notched a few more "finger wags, much love to Dikembe Mutumbo". Luol Deng drove by Corliss Williams more than a few times causing frustration in his matchup which sent him to the line more than a few times. Ben Gordon, leading the league in points per game, scored only 14 points but managed to look for his teammates when he knew he was not going to get the points. Daniel Gibson, coming off the bench for a good 20 minutes, gel'ed with his peers as he found open windows to the inside for Pau Gasol and Ben Wallace and in return, they paid him back by popping a few back to the outside for three.

But while we are giving all of this love to the Chicago Bulls, whatever happened the Sacramento Kings? Dirk Nowitzki happened to the Sacramento Kings. Since he joined the team, the production level of this Kings' offense has dipped mightily. They are desperatly clinging to their playoff hopes, all without the magic of Mike Bibby running the show. As Sacramento continues to learn each other's tendencies and style, Chicago will continue their ascent up Jacob's Ladder, likely falling here and there, but twice as likely to come back stronger than ever.

Thanks. I accidently posted the report before I had done anything. I was meaning to post the game results for the CHI-SAC game. Instead, I reposted Utah.

Anyways, I accidently hit "report post to moderator" when I tried to click on "quote" so if by chance a mod asks or pops in, this is here to let him know it was an accidental click.
