Blazers-Warriors trade: Stephen Jackson becomes a Blazer
ImageImageImage

November 15, 2007

It's official! The Blazers sent Martell Webster, Raef LaFrentz and Cheikh Samb in return they've got Stephen Jackson , Troy Hudson and Patrick O'Bryant. Portland in searching of an ofensive weapon was thinking smart. Will Jackson be enough
to score more? Not everybody is happy with the trade. They are saying that Jackson is a difficult individual and could be some conflicts
between the players. Some says team chemistry will be greater some that it will drop dramaticly. We really won't know for about
10 or 15 games to come.

Larry Brown:
"Once again we were looking for veteran player who is not afraid to shot the ball or even go for the slam. He's a fairly good defensive
player so we are not hurt at the defensive end. I really think this can be it. we are now a scoring machine(smiles)"

Stephen Jackson arrives to Portland

Stephen Jackson:
" I was really suprised when Warriors said to me if I wanna go to Portland. I didn't want to at first, but everybody was trying to convince me
to go. That Blazers are really hot team at the West and they will get just better. After a long consideration i've decided to go to Portland.
We'll see how things will work out."

Interesting trade, Though it hurts to lose a great prospect in Webster, Jax can help your team become an all-out title contender now. IRL he is having a near all-star season. Getting rid of LaFrentz is also good.

I'm still following this. (Y) (Y)

@ Lamrcok93: Yes i know that hurts us losing Webster but I've decided to build Dynasty around Oden, Roy and Jack. Wallace and Jackson will help them to evolve to the best :P

.................................................Recap: So far, so good
Portland were still little of the rythm. But evenutally they keept going towards scoring. Jackson was a nice addition to this game. He had 21 points,
5 steals, 3 assists and a block shot. "So far so good" Jackson said after the game. But he really didn't want to talk to the press.
Slowly Portland is getting a scoring signature. Let's hope for the best

Larry Brown after the game:
" Although Philly has a 8 consecutive loses, they certainly didn't play like they had a negative run. Team is still little shaky because of the trade
but the pieces are finaly going together. We just have to be focused."

..........................90..................... :..........................95

..........................Recap: Wizards show magic
The atmosphere was electrified when game started. Fans were expecting a 9 consecutive win for the Wizards. G.Arenas, A.Jamison amd C.Butler are
this year playing like never before. They had a storming first quarter but Portland was able to stop it in 2nd qtr. So the lead at half was only 49-47
for Washington. Second half they played a good defensive game. So Portland wasn't able to provide.

Larry Brown after the game:
"I knew it would be a though road game. I was warning guys from Gilberto, Caron and Antawn but they were at their best tonight. So we couldn't do
much about it. But still, when they will come to Rose Garden it will be a different story(blinks)."

.....................Recap: Team effort
Although it didn't start well for Portland, they were down 35 : 19 in the first quarter. But they didn't lose focues as the game
continued. In 2nd quarter Oden was back on the court and gave them a lift with 4 straight points. He had to sit down later because he still
isn't a 100% recoverd. Portland was unselfish and moved the ball around very well with 27 team assists.

Larry Brown after the game:
"Yes i like this, we are now much more consistent in shooting the ball. We've nailed almost every open shot so this is good news for us.
Also Oden looks good after the injury. I think he will be fully ready in couple of days. Future looks bright."

8-3... Nice. While you aren't as hot as the real life Blazers (13 straight!), your team is looking great, and I can see a long playoff run. Looks like the Jailblazers are back!

Interesting seeing Sheed and Larry Brown reunited. I project the Blazers to get in the playoffs but I don't like the depth of the bench at the moment and the team isn't primed for a championship yet I think. You could probably work something out to bolster your bench.

................................Recap: Bench players provided a comeback
Fans welcomed Stephen Jackson on his first apperance at Rose Garden as a Blazer. First time in this season a Portland's bench players have steped up.
Together they've score a season high 24 points.
In late of the 3rd quarter most of starters were fatigued and they made a 14-2 run. It was really amazing. Even V.Carter who lead in scoring with 34 points wasn't enough to hold of a Portland's big comeback in second half. Nets had lead up to 18 points.

Larry Brown after the game
"We really have a talented bench and tonight they've proved it. Starters were excited with the run they had and they were cheering as mad.
Good win for us, mentaly. I see improvements that we make in every game. We are looking good for the playoffs but still it's a lot of basketball to play."

...............................Recap: Oden's return wasn't enough
It was a fantastic game to watch. Both teams were passing very well. Many alley-ops and fastbrake actions. K.Martin was a monster in
ofense. B.Roy didn't steal from him not even one ball. M.Bibby had a game high assists with 14 of them. The game could go either way because both
teams were red hot from the field. Unfortunetly for BLazers, Jarret Jack was injured in 4th qtr. and they've diagnosed a spur bone in his
ankle
.He will be out quite for while(typically 7 weeks). A big loss for Blazers.

Larry Brown after the game
"I'm not angry with the loss but Jarret being injured. He is really our key guy in defense and in ofense. He moves the ball great
up the court. He will be truly missed. We had a shot for the win in regulation but instead for penatration to the basket we've
shot the ball and that came back on us. We really had the game in our hands."

Magics with astonishing 36 team assists. Despite great start from Blazers they were keep passing and shooting. And at the end
it paid off for them. Oden had his big night with career high 27 points with 10 rebounds and that was his first double-double of the season.
On the other side D.Howard had his mvp preformance with 21 points, 16 points and 5 assists.

Larry Brown after the game
"What a great chemistry in Orlando. They all have trust in each other so it doesn't matters who shots. But we are not far away from them,
we just need to have this comfort with the wins. Unfortunetly Jack is out for this year and that showed today. I hope he will be ready in
January 2008. If Oden plays like this every night. We could fly to the playoffs(laughs)."

What a surprise, Indiana knocks down Portland. Nobody expected it. Portland was controling most of the game. But Indiana was allways
close. J.O'Neal has hit a last Pacers basket. Larry said to players that they don't wanna go into overtime because 2 days later they have a though

Portland was really bad at rebouding the ball, specially on the defensive end. Terry had almost triple-double with 25 points,

.............................................................................Who's HOT and who's NOT
.........................................................................Image
..................................................................................................Review of November 07'

December 1, 2007

WEST:
West is definetly not as strong as it was in previous seasons. In past years we had an imigrations from the WEST to the EAST. Shaq from LAL to MIA, recently Garnett from MIN to BOS and also Allen from SEA to BOS. But the most recent imigration not from West to East but via versa was Rasheed Wallace from DET to POR.

The team with currently best team record on WEST is Phoenix Suns(10-5). Amare, Steve and Shawn are playing like in previous seasons. Fast, efficient and smart. This year seems they've done improvement on the defensive end. One of couple of surprises are also Sacramento Kings(10-7) which are currently on
4th place on the WEST.

But WEST has one more "most surprising" candidate. Portland Trail Blazers(9-7) had a blazing start. It seemed like they were going to the top with 8-3 record but injuries cost Blazers big time. First Oden(who's recovery was very fast) and now Jack with a bone spur in his anckle and he's inspected to be missing for 7 weeks. Also Seatle Super Sonics(9-8) looks great with Durant(west rookie player of november). They are currently one place from the playoff spot.

Most disapointed team on WEST are certainly Golden State Warriprs(5-11) , Los Angeles Lakers(6-9) , Utah Jazz(7-9) and Houston Rockets(7-11) but all of them are saying that they are not alarmed and the current picture that is now will be a lot differentt in the end. Let's hope it will be true.

Dirk Nowitzki was the best player on the West. He scored on avarage 42.7 points per game, grabbed a 6.9 rebounds and assisted 4.4 times per game. He lead his Mavericks to the 3rd place in conference with 11-7 team record.
Kevin Durant was the best rookie on the West. He scored on avarage 25.9 points per game, with 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists. His Sonics are playing a very good basketball at the moment with a 9-8 team record. Durant is really showing why his is one of the most anticipated player of all time. He's just 19 years old and already doing an All-Star preformance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EAST:
It looks like this year it will be very difficult to come into the playoffs in Eastern Conference where are currently the hottest teams in the league

Everybody is pointing towards Arenas and his Washington Wizards(15-2) as they are the best team on EAST as they are in the entire league."Yes we know, there is no other team like us at the momment and the chemistry is better than ever. I'm Looking forward to this season" said Gilberto Arenas after the last game in November.
But Toronto Raptors(12-4) , Detroit Pistons(11-4) and Boston Celtics(11-4) aren't far behind. All those teams are currently better than any WEST team. But season is still long.

Where are from two years back NBA Champions Miami Heat(6-9) or even last year's amazing playoff preformance ChicagoBulls(5-10)? Well Miami is currently on 11th place with Milwaukee and the Bulls are even worse with 13th place on the EAST. Looks like Philadelphia Sixers(1-14) are heading for the no. 1 draft pick as they show no signs of life on the court.

Many critics are saying that EAST won't be powerfull, as it is now, on the end of the season or even sooner. But two teams on the East will defenitly be a threat and that's Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards. Even Detroit Pistons are showing healthy style of basketball.

Gilberto Arenas was best player on the East. He's scoring 41.1 points per game with 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He lead his Wizards to the best record in the league.
Al Thornton was best rookie on the East. He scored 13.2 points per game adding a 3.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds. His team Charlotte Bobcats are currently looking very good. They are at the spot for the playoffs.

..................................................PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS : A bright future
Monthly interview
Image
Larry Brown:
"It was a wicked month I can tell you that. Future looks bright. Questions please".
Reporter:
Previously year was a though one for you with the Knicks. Are you afraid that something like that can happen' this year?
Larry Brown:
"Well anything can happen' through the season. For example right now our important player Jarrett is injured. It's already showing on our games but we just have to go with the flow."
Reporter:
Some are saying that the trades that Portland made this year were little off and some prospective young players like Webster and Aldridge were lost due to new backups. Any comment on this?
Larry Brown:
"Actually no. We still belive that we chose the right players for the future and that's Oden, Roy and Jack. You really can't have 5 prospective young guys to lead your team. It's just not doable."
Reporter:
It's been a long time since Portland was in playoffs. Are the playoffs the primary goal for the franchise this year?
Larry Brown:
"We would be a fools not to think about the playoffs. At the begining of the season me and Rasheed were talking about what we can/will do this year. Primary goal was actually to bring our game on the higher more competable level and that includes playoffs."
Reporter:
We've mentioned Portland's trades this year. Is there more to come or no more trades?
Larry Brown
"More to come? I don't think so. We've already pretty shoke up our rosters with the previous trades. As you see us today we are planing to stay this at least to the end of this season. Anything can still happen but highly unlikely."
Reporter:
Are the rumors that, Jackson is unhappy with his current team, true?
Larry Brown
"Really have no idea what you are talking about. Stephen is okay, he's coming to practice regulary and we had no incident with him to this date. I don't think that he's unhappy in Portland. Rasheed and Stephen really brought great chemistry to this organisation."

"No, I don't regrate comming in Portland. This is where I've started and this is where I'll end my carrer. Playoffs are reachable but we have to work hard. I really don't feel like the "best" player on the team. We are all great individuals but even a greater team. We just need to stay healthy, healthy and healthy."

Definately keep it going, although don´t like that you traded Aldridge away, but still continue

Woow dude, you REALLY need to clean this up. You are really using those "----" wrong. Clearly you are putting a lot of time into this which is really good for a good dynasty but this looks like a mess. Keep working hard on this, but the reason I don't check it out is because of how unorganized this looks. Good luck man, and hopefully you continue this (Y),

ok, so I've decided not to continue with the presenatation. I'll play with Blazers to the end of the season. Although I'm not a Blazer fan nor Wallace, I'm really enjoying playing with them. So maybe if we will come to the playoffs i'll post some posts that you can see who will be the champion.

So long fellas

What a shame. This was one of my favorite dynasties. (N) Hope to see you do another one soon, because I really liked this.

Sure, neo-Nazis (I kid, btw) like Chaser7 will try to get you down on the presentation, but I'm more than able to read it. Yo kept this interesting, something that most dynasty-makers (including me) fail at.
