Sebastian Telfair had a surprisingly huge night for Boston, scoring nearly 30 points and dishing 9 Assists, but Paul Pierce had a mediocre game with 15 points. Arenas led Golden State with 26 Points and 14 Assists.

Warriors Stay Perfect With Win Over Nash-Less Suns

December 11, 2006 | Warriors (5-0) @ Suns (3-3)

Image 32 28 29 19 108
Image 26 29 19 23 97

Phoenix, AZ - If not for Nash's injury, this battle of Pacific Division Rivals would be intense. Instead, despite being the closest game so far for the Warriors this season, The Warriors had little trouble winning their 5th straight. The first quarter was close enough, Nash's absence clearly being felt as the Warriors raced to a 6-point lead after 1.

A late 2nd-quarter run put the Warriors within 5 however as Marcus Banks did a decent job filling in for the 2-time MVP. The Warriors took control in the 3rd. They outscored the Suns to take a 15-point lead going into the final period. They let the bench play for the final quarter as they won it 108-97.

Notable Player Stats

Golden State

Gilbert Arenas: 38 Minutes, 32 Points, 14 Assists, 6 Rebounds, 14-20 FG, 1-3 3PT, 3-3 FT (Player of the Game)

Chris Wilcox: 21 Minutes, 15 Points, 3 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 2 Blocks, 1 Steal, 7-12 FG, 1-1 FT
Dajuan Wagner: 17 Minutes, 10 Points, 7 Assists, 5-10 FG
Monta Ellis: 35 Minutes, 11 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 5-8 FG, 1-3 3PT

Phoenix

Shawn Marion: 35 Minutes, 19 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 8-12 FG, 3-4 FT
Marcus Banks: 41 Minutes, 8 Points, 15 Assists, 3 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 4-8 FG
Boris Diaw: 38 Minutes, 15 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 6-11 FG, 3-3 FT
Leandro Barbosa: 39 Minutes, 15 Points, 6 Assists, 2 Steals, 6-14 FG, 1-3 3PT, 2-2 FT
Amare Stoudamire: 36 Minutes, 10 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 3-7 FG, 4-4 FT

Warriors Appear to have another Steal in Ellis

Nearly two years ago, Monta Ellis felt forgotten when he slipped down the draft board. Monta Ellis is no stranger to the NBA now, in his second season. After not-quite all-star and 2-time Dunk Contest Champ Jason Richardson was traded to the Wizards, Ellis has earned the starting spot in Golden State.

The Warriors (5-0) are having an amazing undefeated season, and Ellis is a huge part of it. Averaging 17.4 PPG (compared to 6.8 PPG last year), the 21 year old guard out of Lanier High School is the leading candidate for Most Improved player.

Image
Monta Ellis

In 2001, the Golden State Warriors drafted superstar Gilbert Arenas with the 31st pick. He went on to win the Most Improved Player award in 2003. It is still very early in the season, but it looks like Monta is yet another steal for Golden State. Ellis is currently 3rd in scoring for the Warriors, who are #1 in PPG.

Image 26 30 32 18 106

San Antonio, Texas - Naysayers against the Golden State Warriors lost their last remaining argument as the Warriors scraped past the San Antonio Spurs 106-99. The game was close from the start. The Spurs jumped out to a 2 point lead after the first. At halftime, the two teams were tied at 56.

The Warriors took control in the third, leading by as many as 15. 88-77 Golden State going into the fourth. The Spurs put up a decent effort to come back, but it was all for naught. Arenas scores 56 in Tight Win over Former Team

December 20, 2006 | Wizards (8-4) @ Warriors (6-0)

Image37 22 24 16 99
Image36 25 22 19 102

Oakland, California - Gilbert Arenas had 3 targets this season: Phoenix, Portland and Washington, the team that traded him. Agent 0 achieved one of those goals tonight, scoring 56 points on 18-40 shooting. As an added bonus, his team won too, but only barely.

The game was tight from the starts. Wizards 37-36 after the first, 61-59 Warriors at the half. After a tightly contested third period, it was tied. The critical fourth quarter was an exciting one, both playing tight defense. In the end though, the Warriors led by 7 with a minute remaining. Despite a pair of clutch 3's by Baron, Golden State walked away with the win 102-99.

Notable Player Stats

Golden State

Gilbert Arenas: 43 Minutes, 56 Points, 6 Assists, 4 Rebounds, 4 Steals, 18-40 FG, 6-16 3PT, 14-14 FT (Player of the Game)
Monta Ellis: 35 Minutes, 14 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, 6-13 FG, 2-5 3PT
Rashard Lewis: 42 Minutes, 12 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Block, 5-10 FG, 2-4 3PT
Al Harrington: 36 Minutes, 8 points, 6 Assists, 4 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 4-6 FG
Chris Wilcox: 25 Minutes, 3 Points, 11 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 1-2 FG, 1-2 FT

Washington

Baron Davis: 41 Minutes, 29 Points, 11 Assists, 2 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 12-22 FG, 4-8 3PT, 1-1 FT
Jason Richardson: 34 Minutes, 23 Points, 6 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 11-22 FG, 1-5 3PT
Caron Butler: 36 Minutes, 26 Points, 5 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Steal, 12-21 FG, 2-3 FT
Etan Thomas: 28 Minutes, 10 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Steal, No field Goal Attempts
Darius Songalia: 20 Minutes, 5 Points, 2 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 2-5 FG, 1-1 3PT

yeah good win. Gilbert is really consistant right now, and i hope he can stay that way for the entire season.

it seems that the Arenas trade with the Warriors wasnt un realistic. Baron, J-Rich and Caron each getting over 20 points. that is good for the Wiz.

Hope you lose soon  nah go undefeated!

Warriors Acquire Playoff Veterans in Trade with Spurs

Oakland, CA - Earlier this season, GM Washburn completely revamped the Warriors team, making risky moves that ultimately paid off. The Chemistry adjusted fast, and the Warriors are 7-0. It came as a surprise when he made yet another move.

Warriors Recieve:

Guard Michael Finley
Forward Robert Horry

Spurs Recieve:

Guard Nick Van Exel
Guard Willie Green
Forward Zarko Cabarkapa

ImageImage

From the Spurs Point of View:

The Spurs (6-5) have had an underachieving season. They needed to revitalize their old roster, and did so by adding Green and Cabarkapa. Van Exel, who was on the roster last season has yet to play for the Warriors this season, and should get a few minutes backing up Parker now.

From the Warriors Point of View:

Sure, the Warriors are 7-0 now, but as star player Gilbert Arenas says, most of the wins were from teams that were either not playoff-caliber or injured. Playoffs are pretty much a given for the Warriors. Horry and Finley will be huge in the fourth quarters of games, and Horry has more rings than any other active player. All of this for 3 players that never got much burn on their roster. "Right now, we are one of those ambitious young teams that gets the top seed, then gets destroyed in the second or third round of the playoffs. Now, we are legitimate contenders", says GM Liam Washburn.

Not a huge fan of the trade in the sense of realism, but no doubt it will help your team (especially come playoff time). Just can't see the trade ever happening in real life in any circumstances. But hey, it's your game, you do what you like with it and I'm sure it will be interesting!

Will be good to see what impact they have on your next game. :)

Nice trade it will help ur defense and shooting a lot and when it comes to finals the amount of experiance they offer will give you a massive edge and advantage over other teams but overall good trade (Y) :D
