SAS VS ATL RECAP

Thu Jun 22, 2006 2:11 pm

San Antonio Spurs 6-1 vs Atlanta Hawks 1-5
starting 5
Tim Duncan Jason Collier
Robert Horry Al Harrington
Bruce Bowen Josh Smith
Manu Ginobili Josh Childress
Tony Parker Tony Delk

San Antonio started off with a good amount of buckets, FINALLY! Duncan had 3blks in the 1st including 1 on Harrington that went out of play. The Spurs would lead by 6 after the 1st which was capped off by BB making a buzzer beating 3. 21-15 spurs! T.D. had 10pts 4rebs and 3blks after 1. Tony Delk had a fair 7pts. In the 2nd T.D. started with 6 straight pts but a 10-2 run by Atlanta made it a tie at 29. A great Defense switch by Greg Popovich to a 1/2 court trap worked great. Manu had a tough game and shot 4/13 on the night. With .1 left T.D. made a sky hook to make 1/2time score 48-39 Spurs! Childress at 1/2 had 10pts 2rebs and an ast + stl. T.D. had 22pts 4rebs 1ast and 6blks.
The Spurs started the 3rd with a 1-3-1 zone that spurked a 11-4 run by San Antonio. BB made another big 3 to end the 3rd at 72-59 Spurs!
5 turnovers in the 2nd 1/2 would make the game closer than it shouldve. 2stls by Bowen ended with a layup and alley oop to Manu for a 4-0 run. Parker drove and was nailed By Childress, Parker would end up hurt but would be ok. T.D. would eventually collect his 10reb and blk to get a triple double. The final score in this one is 95 to 83 Spurs!

POG: Tim Duncan, 40pts 11rebs 1ast 10blks and 2stls while shooting 19 for 32 in the game.

Box: Delk, 25pts 5rebs 3ast 2stl.
Childress, 17pts 5rebs 5ast 4stls.
Harrington, 16pts 6rebs 5stls.

T.D. 40pts 11rebs an ast 10blks and 2stls.
Parker 12pts 3rebs 9ast 5stls.
Manu 10pts 2rebs 5ast 8stls 4/13 shooting.
Bowen 7pts 2ast 5stls.

QUESTION!
Should I TRADE DOMINIQUE Wilkins for a younger small forward/guard. I might trade because he is old and will retire after the year (hes 45) and Bowen and Barry are getting older.
