Philadelphia, PN - Despite a late comeback, our Raptors lost the game to Philly in the final seconds, while Brent Barry was unable to hita possible game-winner before going to the bench.

"We sucked. The D sucked, the O sucked, everything sucked, until the final 40-45 seconds." said MoPete, who had 8 points (on perfect shooting), 4 boards and 4 dimes.

"Only bright spots were Deke (29 points on 13-15, 6 boards and 4 blocks) and Watson (12 points and 2 assists in 13 minutes)", said coach Yougi. "Eric Snow did not score a lot on us,but he still had 10 points and 12 assists, and only 2 TOs. Plus, Iverson had like 30 and 6. We're also starting to miss Brad for real."

Dirk Nowitzki a Pacer

Dallas, TX - Dirk Nowitzki was finally traded to Indiana. This trade was never heard off before because it was accepted as soon as it touched the table.

Dallas' forward was shipped alongside swingmen Tariq Abdul-Wahad and rookie Marquis Daniels to Indiana for defensive stud Ron Artest, hustler Al Harington, supposedly phenomenal forward Jonathan Bender and Jeff Foster.

"Of course, you never like losing your best friend to a city that far away. But I'm happy of what we got in return." said Nash, the Canadian point guard.

"I've always had a lot of belief in Bender", said Mavericks GM when asked about why he took him also. "This guy is unbelievably quick and athletic for a seven footer, his defense is great, he has a sweet touch... He's gonna be great in our way of playing."

Coach Yougi: "3 straight. 3 Fucking straight losses. I could understand the Houston one. Francis played incredible, and we started strong. But in those last 2 games, we were fucking torched."

Mutombo: "But coach! We lost by 1 in Philly and by 4 yesterday. That's not what I call torch."

Yougi: "It's just the way you played. You know, here I got stats from last game. Barry: 3 missed uncontested jumpers from within 10 feets. Earl Watson : 2 missed fast break lay-ups. AD: 3 missed dunks. MoPete had 1. Houston had 2 missed open J. And you, sir Deke, had 5."

Mutombo: "But coach... You know I ain't a scorer. I still scored over 20 in the last 2 games, while I should get 7 or 8."

Yougi: "Yeah, and you averaged 4.5 boars during that span. You want me to tell you how much you should get?"

Mutombo: "No coach..."

Barry: "But coach, I had 29 points and 7 assists!"

Yougi: "And 8 missed shots. And 5 turnovers. Guys, I came here to make this team win. I want you to know that I won't accept guys that don't want to win. If you won't give your heart out on every seconds you're on the floor, you guys can tell me, I'll ship you to LA!"

That was pretty much it... dropped this one by 4 points, and every one seemed to miss everything. Good news are, Brad is back!!

Toronto get out of their slump; beat Magic by 34 despite T-Mac's 40

Orlando, FL - The Toronto Raptors came to Florida with an hunger for a win, and got one in a fashion way: by beating the 6-4 Magic 121-87.

Brad Miller, coming back from a sprained ankle that made him miss 6 games, was one of 6 Raptors in double figures (lead by Davis' 28), and one of 3 Raptors that did not miss (others being Deke Motumbo and Earl Watson, both criticized by Coach/GM Yougi for missing easy shots).

Big overall games were also playd by starters Brent Barry (12 points, 6 assists with only 1 TO), MoPete (23 pts on 8-10, 7 rbds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and no TO) and Antonio Davis (13 rbds and 2 blocks in addition to the 28 points), and benchman Joe Smith (13 pts, 4 assists and 7 boards in 13 minutes).

On Orlando's side, T-Mac's 40 on 20 shots showed on overall scoring: only 2 other Magic scored in double figured (Lue with 17 and Hill with 11).

AD's incredible game is explained by one simple fact: he out-hustled and out-athleticised Gooden, Howard and Garrity, gettion 4 3 points play during that game.

Heat drops it by 27!


Thanks to an incredible zone D, and as incredible hustle, the Raptors won their second straight blowout, 115-88 against the Miami Heat. The biggest difference? Toronto's bench scored 67 points, and Miami's starting 5 had 72. That is 5 points less.

Also, the Raptors shot .632 from the field, while the Heat shot .448. that's a 15% differential. They also outrebounded them 36-29, and outblocked them 12-3. The Raps also had 8 players in double figures, while the Heat only had 2 (Jones and Wade).

Raptors Beat Hawks!

Toronto, ON - The Atlanta Hawks were ready to get their 8th win of the season , even though the Raptors were on a hot streak, winning the past 2 by an average of 30.5.

The Hawks used the match-up advantage of Reef vs a just back from ankle injury Miller to get an early lead, which was of 16 at the half. At that point though, coach Youg idecided to use Smith and Deke more. AD and Brad, who were invisible on both side, were on the bench. Brad didn't even touch the floor of the whole second half!

Thanks to Smith hustle D, and to MoPete, Houston and Barry's offensive explosiveness, the Raptors wereable to get 3 10-0 runs in the 3rd, leading at one point by 11.

Then, Jason Terry decided it was his time. He came up big, hitting 3 consecutive 3s, and, on the next play, delivering a perfect lob to Shareef for an awesome alley-oop!

With the score tied for most of the 4th, the spectators on the edge of their seats, when came the final 2 minutes stretch, each team wanted the game more than ever. Jason Terry decided to get an advantage when he came off a pick by Theo Ratliff to shoot a three, but Mutombo thought of it another way. He slapped the ball away (and Terry too), gave it to Houston who delivered a big dunk over Boris Diaw at the other end.

Then, Jason was able to fake Barry in the air, and drove to the hoop. Smith, decided to knock Terry to the floor (again), went to him, but Terry decided to dish it to Reef, who shot a wide open, 12 foot J and hit nothing but net.

On their next possession, MoPete got a pass from Houston, drove to the FT line, got up, took a shot and was fouled by Theo, but still made it. He also completed the 3 point play.

On the next possession, a pass was stolen by Barry, who gave it to Mo, who knocked down a J to seal the win.

Brent Barry was named POTG, with 21 points (on 9-11), 7 assists and 6 steals.

LeBron lose to the Raptors

Cleveland, OH - Not exactly the start they were planning on...

After Miller won the jumpball, Barry tried to dish it to Mo for an easy dunk. Well... Ricky Davis jumped to the ball, causing the ball to change path. LeBron James did not need more, as he took it, and dunked a windmill 360 on Brent Barry, who tried to sprint back to erase his error.

Good thing for the Raps is, even though LeBron dunked them away for the whole first quarter, Brad had foul trouble 2 minutes into the game, and Miles got 18 in the 2nd, and despite Barry falling on his wrist in the 3rd, they still managed to come from behind (thanks to Ricky Davis abyssal .214 shooting) and win this one 103-77.

Every Raptor that touched the floor (which means everyone but White and Curry) had over 6 points, led by Houston's 23.

Biggest difference today: the Cavs' stars (Miles, Davis and LBJ) were playing for themselves, causing Z to be able to shoot only 3 times, and making them to finish the game iwht only 7 assists. Also, the "big" line-up of CB4, Kukoc, Smith, Deke and Barry helped Toronto outrebound the Cavs 32-16. That's twice more.

Brad Miller and the Raps stop Pierce and the Celtics!

Despite a lot of foul troubles early on, the Raptors beat the league's second best record, the Boston Celtics, by the score of 104-82.

Brad Miller, who was criticised since he arrived in Toronto in the Vince Carter deal, got it going as he got 20 points (on 9-11), 15 rebounds and 3 blocks, from the PF spot.

Coach Yougi, not wanting to have AD guarding Walker, decided to play Brad at the 4 and Davis at the 5, and it worked perfectly for both, as AD also got 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks (in limited PT due to foul problems).

Paul Pierce (13 points, compared to a league best 30.6 per game) and Antoine Walker (12 points to 21.9) were shut down today, the latter one by Miller, and Paul by a mix of defenders thrown at him. Barry had his turn, MoPete had a few minutes also, Houston did help a few times, but the main guy was 7 footer Toni Kukoc. The veteran was able to block 3 of Pierce's shot, to keep to ball away from him, and to keep him away from the basket.

With that win, Toronto turns to 10-4, good for 3rd in the league behind Philly's 9-3 and New York's 10-2.

Next game will be at the Madison Square Garden, against the league leading Knicks. IT will be Allan Houston's first game against them since he left.

Joe Smith at SF is too much for Knicks

New York, NY - After MoPete had 2 quick fouls trying to guard 6'10 Peja Stojakovic, acquired by NY in the Vince Carter deal, Joe Smith took over, and dominated at the 3, putting Stojakovic, and then back up Keith Van Horn in foul trouble. And giving his heart out on every single play, leading him to 14 points in 11 minutes.

Rookie CB4 had his best game yet as a pro: 13 points, 4 boards and 3 blocks in 11 minutes. Put that on a 36 minutes basis, it is 40 points and 15 boards, plus 10 blocks.

For NY, only Peja (34) and Ward (11) cracked double digits. Kurt Thomas, the team's second scorer, had 4 points, which is 17 below his season average.

Brad Miller had is second straight 15 rebounds game. Both from the 4 spot. He only had 8 points though, but he racked up 2 blocks and 3 dimes. Brent also was playing good, gettin 19 points and 9 assists, to go with 2 robs, in just 19 minutes.

When asked if Joe Smith would be the new starter at the 3, GM/Coach Yougi said: "I don't know. Right now, no way. We'Re winning with him off the bench, why would we change that?"

Raptors's 4th straight blowout!

Denver, CO - Brent Barry's 12 points, 14 assists, 5 blocks, 4 steals and 7 boards performance was enough to give the Raps the Win. Allan Houston's 28 points, and Mo's 20 on 11 shots, plus AD's 7 blocks, plus Miller's 14-8 game in 17 minutes, well... if you sum them all, it gives you a 100-62 blowout.

Andre Miller tried very hard, so did Earl Boykins, but no Nuggets were able to score much in the strangling Zone the Raps were playing. Not even shooters Jon Barry and Voshon Lenard. Not even Nene, nor Camby or Melo.

The Raps bench was pretty silencious today, due to the starters playing real real incredible. Joe had 10 points and 6 board in 11 minutes, but that's pretty much the only story off the bench for them!

With 3 minutes left in the game, the score tied at 80, Morris Peterson sinks a 3 off a Miller screen to give the Raps the lead.

Then, at the other end, Q-Rich fakes Mo in the air and launches a 3 from the corner that touches nothing but net. Score tied at 83.

AD gets the ball down low, but is double teamed. He passes it to a wide open MoPete, who sinks one from downtown. 86-83 Raptors.

The Clippers call a TO, get EB in, while AD goes to the bench and is replaced by veteran Dikembe Mutombo.

The Clippers go to EB on Brad Miller, who tries to send it to a wide open Quentin Richardson, but the pass is intercepted by Brent Barry! Barry tries to ignite a fast break, but can'T, and give it to Brad for an easy bucket, but he's fouled by EB. He gets the first, but misses the second. Kaman gets the board, dishes it outside to Jaric, but it's stolen (again) by Barry, who dishes it to a wide open Allan Houston, wo can't convert the 12 footer.Kaman gets the board again, dishes it to Marko, who this time goes all the way for a lay-up! that he miss... Brent Barry also miss a contested 3, which is rebounded by Maggette who goes coast to coast for a 360 lay-up to avoid getting blocked by Miller. 87-85 Raptors.

MoPete frees himself up behind the arc, but can't convert his shot. Good news: Brad Miller puts it back with a powerful jam! 89-85.

On the other end, Maggette feeds EB in the post, and he decides to go one on one with Deke. Faking right, spining to the left, he gets a worked for 2. 89-87.

To show it's not over, Deke facialise both Kaman and EB on a 180 dunk on the next posession. 91-87.

Marko Jaric comes off a screen by EB, and drives to the hoop! But he's doubled, and gives it up to Corey for a wide open 3! 91-90.

Then, with a minute left, Mo sends a lob to Brad, but Chris Kaman decides it's not going that way. Getting the ball, he tries to give it to Q, but Deke this time gets it. He then give it up to Houston, who shoots an 18 footer, which is put back by Miller on another show of pure strength.

Then, the Clippers decide to isolate Corey Maggette on MoPete, which is succesful as Corey get to the line and convert both! 93-92 Raptors, with 28.5 remaining.

With 20.1 seconds left, Brad Miller convert his 3rd high flying dunk in less than a minute, this time making Brand lose his headband. Needless to say it stayed there.

Maggette tries yet again to isolate, but misses a 13 footer that would have got them within 1.instead, he has to foul Deke, who can't convert any of his shot. Hopefully, MoPEte gets the rebound and is fouled also.

At that time, the 2 shooting bigs (Joe and Toni) replace DEke and Brad, just in case. But with 6.6 seconds left, and with a 3 points advantage, the Raps seals the win when Mo gets both foul shots to fall.

The Clippers' Q-Rich had an incredible 28 points, including 5-6 from beyond. EB had 18-12, and Corey had 19 points. For Toronto, Brad had 19-10, Houston had 23 points, Mo 18, and AD had an incredible line of 13-7-3-2-1. The 6th man of the night was Deke, who had 6 points, 6 boards and 4 blocks in only 8 MINUTES!

Other players on the block!

Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley is said to be ready to part ways with the Pacers. After suffering an important injury to his right shoulder, the point man is supposedly looked up by a lot of teams. The Pacers are said to be looking for a young SF that can knock down the J, and if possible a PG that can also.

Another PG on the block is the Lakers' Derek Fisher. Fisher, being uncontent with his role (as reserve behind future Hall-of-Famer Gary Payton), asked the Lakers for a trade. The Lakers are said to look for a YOUNG swingman that can play D.

One guy that could be traded for Fisher is Darius Miles. The Cavs are said to be looking to part ways with Miles to get a point man, so LBJ can play his natural 3.

Houston's Eddie Griffn is one guy that will draw a lot of interest, thanks to his ability to play all 3 front spots, to knock the 3 and to block some shots. Houston will have to part ways because of unstopping trades request, and of a lot of little fights between him and Yao Ming. Jim Jackson is also said to be open for a package deal. The Rockets will be looking for an hustler at the 4, or a stopper at the 3.

The only star on the block is the Clippers' Maggette. After their 15th loss of the season, to go with nly 3 wins, the Clippers' managers are ready to change something. Marko Jaric is also said to be on his way out, so the Clippers will probably search for a defensive presence on the wings (with Q being able to score in tons), and a playmaker at the 1. A bigger (and better) C could also help.

LJ: Hello Doug!

DW: So, LeBron, why did the Raps win this one?

LJ: Well, during the game, the Blazers were dominating. The Raps jsut were crunchier.

DW: I love this word (laughs). Really, it was it though. What you think about the Allan Houston shot?

LJ: You mean, the one with 30 left on the clock, when Allan pumpfaked, then made a cross step that put Derek Anderson on his ass, an let him open to shoot for the lead?

DW: Exactly!

LJ: Incredible, what more to say? It shows you AH has some more gas left in the tank!

DW: And we all know that!!! And then, Brent Barry stealing it from Damon to seal the win on a, lets say it, an incredible jam.

LJ: Completely crazy, definitely!

DW: What do you think was the problem of the Raps during the game though, so they had to light it up during crunch time?

LJ: Hustle. They were not running for loose ball, not cleaning the offensive glass, not running back on D, not trying to push the ball... They were simply out hustled!

DW: What do you think of fellow rookie CB4?

LJ: This guy is incredible. An offensive force. Those plays where he faked Sheed to the air, then went up for the 12-15 foot J, and made it with contact... plain incredible. His big problems, though, are his lack of stamina and strength. He can't go low in the post, nor play 35 minutes a game...

Chris: Here Chris Nash, your trade reporter! Today, lots of big dealing went through, as the trade deadline gets near, first showed by Drew Gooden being traded to Detroit, for Elden Campbell! Here, Doug, what you think bout that?

Doug: Well... I don't know what to say. That means they're not content with the way Darko is playing as of late, dropping to 13.5 and 6.7. That will be good for them, and wil give an inside presence to the Magic.

Chris: Second trade to go through, Jamaal Tinsley and Scott Pollard to Milwaukee for Erick Strickland and Tim Thomas.

Doug: Good trade for both. It gives Indiana a complete line-up, instead of having a blank at the 3, and it gives Milwaukee a more viable 1 (but TJ will still play, due to Jamal's injury problems), and a center (with Rad probably going back to his natural 4).

Chris: A few minutes after, we hear that New Orleans made 3 HUGE deals, that you can't really do when you're in the middle of a season... They sent Darell Armstrong, their back-up point, to Cleveland for D-Miles, then J-Mash to Houston for Griffin, Jackson and Cato, then PJ Brown to Washington for Larry Hughes!

Doug: Well, first, let's look at it from the Hornets point of view... they get a starting 5 of Davis, Hughes, Miles, Griffin and Magloire. Also, off the bench, they get Jimmy Jackson, Kelvin Cato, David Wesley, Robert Traylor. They went from a 3-13 team to a contender.

Cleveland got the PG they wanted. Fair value in my opinion.

Houston got ripped off. They'll soon realise Mo Taylor as the starting 4, and off-season acquisition Shawn Kemp as the only back-u^p ain't real good, even though you have Stevey, Yao and Mash.

Washington sent a back-up for a real talented big. He'll also teach Kwame Brown a few tricks, I hope...

Chris: Last but nto least, the Hall-Of-Lakers traded Derek Fisher for Giricek and Garrity to Orlando.

Doug: Well... they now have big back-ups, while Orlando have a point to play alongside McGrady. Nothing more to say, really...

How good are the new Hornets?

After changing up almost hteir whole roster 2 days ago, the Hornets won their 4th of the year against the league leading Raptors (in 2OT) by the score of 103-101. That is how good they are. The story of the game, though, was Baron Davis, still an Hornet, who scored 36, including all of the Hornets' 13 first-quarter points.

Brent Barry wins it, despite Houston taking the game-winning shot

Toronto, ON - Your Raptors, again, played one for the ages, as the Raps knocked the Pistons in the last second.

After coming back from an 8 point deficit, the Raptors started destroying the Pistons O by switching everything on D. Then, with his team down by one, Brad scored a powerful fast-break-jam, off a steal from Barry. Rip Hamilton responded with a 16 footer, to give his team the lead.

On the next play, with 36 seconds left, Allan Houston isolated against Hunter, faked baseline, and tried a jumper... that was not strong enough. But, Brent Barry, coming out of nowhere, jumped over Ben Wallace and dunked it back in, giving his team the lead! Then, on the next play, he stole the ball from Corliss Williamson and was fouled (getting both).

With 7 seconds left, the Pistons tried to give Rip a play, but Brent Barry coming for a double team was too much for him. He passed it to an open Corliss Williamson, that couldn't connect on the possible game-winner.

It's close almost every game. That must be tough. Even after playing NBA Live so many hundreds of times, I still start to shake a little in close games. And if I lose a close game, especially if I lose at the buzzer, I always go back ten times and reminisce about what I should have done. But I'm sure you don't do that, because you don't lose.

Then, Jason Terry decided it was his time. He came up big, hitting 3 consecutive 3s, and, on the next play, delivering a perfect lob to Shareef for an awesome alley-oop!

With the score tied for most of the 4th, the spectators on the edge of their seats, when came the final 2 minutes stretch, each team wanted the game more than ever. Jason Terry decided to get an advantage when he came off a pick by Theo Ratliff to shoot a three, but Mutombo thought of it another way. He slapped the ball away (and Terry too), gave it to Houston who delivered a big dunk over Boris Diaw at the other end.

After Miller won the jumpball, Barry tried to dish it to Mo for an easy dunk. Well... Ricky Davis jumped to the ball, causing the ball to change path. LeBron James did not need more, as he took it, and dunked a windmill 360 on Brent Barry, who tried to sprint back to erase his error.

On the other end, Maggette feeds EB in the post, and he decides to go one on one with Deke. Faking right, spining to the left, he gets a worked for 2.

There were some great moments there Yougi You've been playing great, what's the Raptors record now?

Also, those were some interesting trades, I think the Hornets have really improved themselves- they even beat you! Watch out for them if they can make a run & get into the playoffs...

After a 88-80 lost yesterday to the Warriors (I was outrunned as hell, and unable to convert), I'm 15-5 I think. I also just got the level up to All-Star.

Thanks a lot for the comments. I try to comment great plays, but often my memory decide otherwise

Also, for the Warriors game... my girl arrived when I ended the game, os I couldn'T really make a recap... sorry for this one

That's OK about the Warriors game- at least you have your priorities straight

I think it's a good idea to slowly increase the difficulty level- you're 15-5, so it'll only make things more realistic & more fun too.
