One of the best match-ups of the season it is Amare Stoudemire vs. Pau Gasol. Amare is a lot more athletic, but Pau is a better shooter.

Recap
Even though the Hawks are 3-5, they are one of the most talented teams in the NBA. It was a very impressive win for the Celtics. One of the biggest reasons the Celtics won this is that they shot better from beyond the arc. It was 53-44 at half in favor of the Celtics, and from there on they cruised their way to victory. Pau Gasol and Andrew Bogut both had double-doubles. Pau absolutley filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists, and even made a three. Pierce had a very productive game once again with 27 points. Kyle Korver also started his first game since Iwanaka took over, and had a very good game with 15 points. For the Hawks, Amare Stoudemire had the only huge night with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

This match-up is between Gilbert Arenas and Baron Davis. Gilbert is the better player, but Baron can match-up very well against Gilbert. If not, Gilbert will have a big game.

Recap
What a good game tonight. It was a epic battle between two very good teams. In the first it was all Gilbert Arenas as he scored 14 of the 26 points in the first quarter. But, in the second, the Celtics called to a guy who they called to all year. Paul Pierce. He was on an absolute tear shooting 7-9 from the field and 5-5 free throws. He scored 15 of the 28 points for the Celts in the 2nd. At half it was pretty close 53-45 in favor of Phoenix. In the 2nd half, Haji Iwanaka stepped up off the bench scoring a season high 14 points. The Celtics had a lead with 1:01 left in the game and put it away when Andrew Bogut made 4 straight free throws. The best game went to Paul Pierce who had 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Korver started his second game game and produced well dropping 26 points. Haji Iwanaka had his best game of the year. He did this also by comming off the bench. He scored 14 points in 11 minutes

mascot

Postby KIG1 on Mon Jan 09, 2006 1:08 pm

Gumby Named The Celtics Mascot
Today the Boston Celtics released their mascot. Owner Wyc Grousbeck said that the Celtics needed a change to boost up fan fun. Lucky has always been their mascot and it is tough to see him go but players are very excited about the next mascot. Pierce said that Lucky was getting boring and doing the same stuff over and over and the fans were getting sick of him.

So the Celtics got a new mascot. It was a tough desicion, they decided to go with a very cool guy..... Gumby. He is a good marketing tool and can boost up fan fun.
