[ SEATTLE, Oct. 14 (Ticker) ] -- The Phoenix Suns have a big hole to fill with the loss of Joe Johnson; but Raja Bell let the front office and fans know the position is in good hands.

Bell, who spent the last two years with the Utah Jazz, scored 18 points as the Suns rallied from a 11-point, third-quarter deficit for a 109-106 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.

Johnson, who was traded to Atlanta in a controversial sign-and-trade deal that was finalized just a month prior to training camp, did a little of everything for the surprising Suns last season.

Phoenix signed Bell as a free agent this summer after the guard averaged a career-high 12.3 points last season with the Jazz.

Bell shot 7-of-11 from the floor and added four rebounds in 38 minutes.

The Sonics led, 86-79 in the beginning of the last quarter before the Suns started chipping away. They took the lead when Rashard Lewis converted a three-point play with 3:31 left for a 99-97 edge. Leandro Barbosa added two free throws to tie the game.

The Sonics had one last gasp: they inbounded to Luke Ridnour, whose shot at the buzzer was blocked by Kurt Thomas.

* House hits the finger-roll
* Grant shoots over Collison
* Barbosa hits the 3
* Marion with the shot
* Thomas blocks Ridnour
* Thomas with the lay-up

Maybe starting Jones whos overall is only 62 isn't right(no wonder u can only score 4 with him, he misses everything), start Jackson instead :)

It's just a preseason game... I'm trying different lineups, I was thinking in starting Jimmy for the next match.

[ PHOENIX, Oct. 15 (Ticker) ] -- The Phoenix Suns have candidate to fill Joe Johnson's spot in the lineup: Jimmy Jackson.

Jackson came from the bench to score 23 points and to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers, 103-90.

Jackson, who has played in 11 different teams in 14 NBA seasons, shot 8-of-12 from the field. But in the first minutes he got injured and didn't return to the match; anyway, it doesn't seems too serious.

In his return to the Suns lineup, Steve Nash focused in his offense, scoring 16 points, only having 2 assists; Shawn Marion added 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Suns second-round pick Dijon Thompson didn't see action (in a side note, Suns are considering send him to D-League), when Clippers first-round pick Yaroslav Korolev played 14 minutes, with 2 points and 4 rebounds.

Cuttino Mobley led the Clippers with 24 points, followed by Elton Brand, with 18 and 16 rebounds.

"We have a lot of good players on this team. We just want to win. I think we have the caliber team that can improve. I think everyone is looking forward to us doing some good things and make a run at the playoffs... I know it will be hard this first months without Amare," Nash said to the press.

* Diaw with the 3
* Jones shoots over Korolev
* House against Wilcox and Mobley
* Jackson gets injured and Jones replaces him
* Cassell with the lay-up
* Brand over The Matrix
