Memphis 69, Miami 74
MIAMI, Dec. 1 -- Shaquille O'Neal and Dwayne were too good for the strong Memphis and have broken their 2 game losing streak. The win puts the Heat at 5-4 and the Grizzlies at 11-5.
O'Neal scored 24 points and Wade added 17 as the Miami Heat win their first game in 2 games with a 74-69 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. O'Neal came up big shooting 11 out of 14 from the field. The amazing fact was that O'Neal scored 2 out of 2 from the free throw line.
The Grizzlies lead at the middle of the 3rd quarter by a margin of 12 points. The Heat were in real need of Wade and O'Neal when they were off. They were subbed and 25 seconds after that Wade hurt his arm going up for the dunk. The Heat shortened the lead to 4. But then the grizzilies shot another 3 pointer to take the lead out again.
At the start of the 4th quarter, the Grizzlies had the game in their hands but only for a short while. The Heat bursted out of the blocks with Shaq scoring 7 points in that quarter. Wade was subbed back in desperate need. As the lead was 1 point, the Heat's way, Wade dished the ball out to Williams who was open on the 3 Point line, he then shot and sunk the shot with 1.03 minutes remaining. That started the 9 point run but was clawed back.
Jason Williams and Damon Jones had 9 points and 3 assists each. Miller top scored for the grizzlies with 23 points shooting 3 out of 8 from downtown and 10 out of 16 overall. Lopez had 14 points shooting 3 from 3 from downtown.
The win put the Heat tied 1st in the South East Division. They were 4th just a game ago.
