Three Game Recap
Next three games on the schedule were all away games, in respectively Utah, Indiana and Oklahoma City. Should be at least two wins for the Knicks (which would mean a record at .500).
Coach Brown's Week
Welcome back Knicks (and NBA) fans! This was a pretty tough week, but the team's hard work payed off and we're over .500 now! I didn't think we would beat Indiana so early in the season yet, but the guys got a lot of motivation out of the blowout that we had in the Salt Lake City.
NYK vs. UTAH - Of course every game is a test, but against a weaker Utah, I was wondering how the team would do. Jerry Sloan is an excellent coach, no matter what kind of players you give him, he'll sort it out and make it work.
This game it all went our way though, we completely blew out the Jazz. The starting five got off to a quick start and the bench didn't let them down.
In these type of games, I'm going to play the young guys that we have a little more. Too bad Ariza was injured (the whole week by the way). Channing Frye showed great potential though, he notched 16 points off the bench. All in all, a very easy win, which meant a 2-2 record.

Left: Although he is aging, Penny still got enough off his jumping ability left to deliver this jam.
Middle: Kirilenko is basically the only star on this year's Jazz squad. This games he also had to fill the whole stat sheet for his team, but he couldn't keep them in the game.
Right: Q-Rich has been playing excellent for the Knicks. He's lead the team in scoring on multiple occasions and went back to his Clippers playing style.

NYK at IND - Definately a championship candidate this year, I did not get my hopes up too high for our game in the Conseco Fieldhouse. Most of the time, teams leave this arena empty-handed and we are only a team in the building stages.
We competed from the start though and didn't fell behind by more than 2 points. Once again our bench was an important factor in this game and we held on for the 117-113 win, kind of an upset if you ask me.

Left: Hardaway showed flashes on the 90s Penny again, he had 6 assists of the bench including this lob to Frye for the alley-oop.
Middle: Jermaine O'Neal did not have a great game, but still gave his team his usual contributions.
Right: Not only has Richardson been playing great for the Knicks, he also delivers a Sportscenter play every now and then, like this windmill jam.

NYK vs. NOH - After two well-deserved wins, we had no problems with the lowly Hornets. We just did what we had to do, beat them.
It was a pretty ugly game, I got kind of annoyed by the refs.
The weren't calling the fouls how I wanted, they got away with anything. I saw myself back on tape and I regret my behaviour, but I still think the refs failed to do their jobs correctly. I'll stop discussing this now, I already got fined after the press conference.
Just like in the Jazz game, I tried to play the younger guys some more today. Frye did great but I kind of got used to that from him. Nate Robinson convinced me he can make it in this league too. Everybody was all hyped about him because he's such an amazing athlete, a 5"9 guy dunking is pretty special. But as a coach I look at very different aspects, defense, team game, shooting. He did well and we got the win.

Left: PJ Brown had an unusual game, dominating the boards and even scoring at will in the paint. Somebody has to step up though with their lack of stars and the absence of JR Smith.
Right: Nate Robinson finally had a good game against the Hornets, he also pleased the bangwagoners (and general NBA fans) with a great dunk.

Thank you for reading this second Knicks update, as usual I will be back reporting the next 3 games. Hope you all will be with me next time again. Let's try to continue the winning ways and stay above .500.
Hope to see you around!
Yours sincerely,
Larry Brown
