Lakers Flash News

October 9, 2005 -- Lakers new GM Brad Feeters announced today that they've added three more additionall staff upon request by coach Phil Jackson. With Feeters saving enough money, he was more than willing to grant the Coach's request.

With the Lakers going young on the draft by selecting a 17-yr old center Andrew Bynum and signing him to a contract, they needed somebody to tutor this kid and the rest of the Lakers frontcourt. So with that in mind, the Lakers brought back "The Captain", Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the house:

Image
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a 6-time NBA World Champion, 6-time NBA MVP, 2-time NBA Finals MVP, 19-time All-Star, one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, was hired to tutor the Lakers big men.

The triangle is back in L.A. but Kobe's not going to run it, Odom is. They wanted to implement Odom's versatility and make him the Lakers point-forward with Kobe on the wing. And there's no other name that pop's out of Phil Jackson's mind than "The Master of Point-Forward" itself Scottie Pippen who was basically the initiator of the triangle offense back in Chicago that brought them Six(6) NBA Championships.

Scottie Pippen, a 6-time NBA World Champion, 2-time Olympic Gold Medal Winner, 7-time All-Star, one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, was hired to tutor Lamar Odom in running the triangle offense.

And lastly with the Lakers shooting horrible last season, they've added 3-time NBA 3-pt Shooting Champion, Craig Hodges as their shooting coach.

Craig Hodges, a 3-time NBA 3-pt Shooting Champion is going to help improve their field goal shooting.

Brad Feeters who still have 1.041M remaining in the budget, equally divided it into three making each of them earn 347K a year.
the length of the contract we're not disclosed. All three happily accepts the contract saying "it's not about the money, it's about helping our team win."

p.s. scrimmage next and pre-season games.....

yeah he's really doing good in my dynasty and in real life....... he's fearless driving to the hoop in that game and in the 2nd scrimmage w/c i'll post in a while..... he's really deserving of a spot at the team rotation..... thanks.......

Nice stuff, bringing back the legends and all. I also like the ESPN Motion Guide thingy. Can't wait for the regular season!

Bynum and George put up some nice numbers in the training camp game! Which team were you controlling?
