Utah travel to Oakland to verse Warriors

Image

The Utah Jazz get to play their first Away game of the year against the Golden State Warriors.

Starting Line-Ups

Image

Key Match-Up

Baron Davis vs. Deron Williams.

Will Deron be able to handle high flying Baron Davis? Will Davis stop Deron from scoring and passing? We'll find out soon.

1st Quarter

Andrei Kirilenko scored his first basket within 10 seconds of the match and Deron Williams got into some early foul trouble. Then Matt Harpring came on and he got injured. The Jazz had a 2 point lead as Carlos Boozer got into foul trouble. Luckily, Jason Richardson and Troy Murphy got into some foul trouble as well. The Jazz were forced to play a line-up of Ostertag, Collins, Humphries, Okur and Palacio as they didnt want to risk anymore foul trouble. The Utah Jazz ended the quarter up 33 to 28.

2nd Quarter

The Warriors started off with Mike Dunleavy making a 4 point play. The Jazz extended their lead to 9 points as Deron Williams received a back injury. A bit later, Derek Fisher received an injury. The Warriors began a comeback to level the scores at 49 a piece with 4 minutes to go. The Jazz went on another run to extend their lead back to 9 points. The Jazz ended the quarter ahead 63 to 58.

Key Players At The Half

Andrei Kirilenko And Baron Davis

3rd Quarter

Deron Williams had fully recovered from his injury but he was still going to be on the bench for a few minutes. The Warriors came out firing as they narrowed the gap to 1 point so Jerry Sloan decided to put Deron Williams into the line-up. The risk of putting Deron Williams back only worked for one basket as he injured himself again. Then Troy Murphy received a back injury, so many injuries (i have to lower the injury frequency from 100 to like 70 or somethin). The Warriors had an oppurtunity to take the lead but Mike Dunleavy missed the free throw to incomplete a three point play and CJ Miles drained a 3 pointer on the fast break to give a 4 point turn around for the Jazz. Jason Richardson dunked down 2 amazing dunks in a row to lift up the home crowd. The Carlos Boozer received an ankle injury which would probably keep him out for the rest of the game. Finally, the Warriors regained a 1 point lead with 2 minutes left in the quarter. The game began to be a battle between Jason Richardson and Andrei Kirilenko for points and the lead. The Jazz managed to hold onto the lead at the end of the quarter, up 90-89.

4th Quarter

The Jazz continued their strong play but the Warriors still managed to hold on. Baron Davis came off the bench and took the lead for the Warriors. The Jazz starting making silly decisions which cost them the lead but then they were making smart decisions and they took the lead back. The Utah Jazz continued to hold on to their 1 point lead as time progressed in the 4th quarter. Then 2 Warriors baskets in a row gave them a 3 point lead. The Jazz's superstar Andrei Kirilenko got fouled out and after that, there was no hope for the Jazz to come back and win it. The Warriors took this one 126 to 119.

Player of the Game

Andrei Kirilenko
Despite his team losing efforts, he scored 46 points.

Carlos Boozer, a broken foot, NAh

Robert Skrnjug was disappointed with the loss. He'll figure out something soon. Robert Skrnjug announced that Carlos Boozer will be out for 5 weeks with a broken bone in his foot and Deron Williams will be out for 3 weeks with a Neck Spasm. This will force the Jazz to have a 9 man lay-up, some .dbf signing is needed.

I hope you like recap, fucking injuries, Jugs.

Yeah, i didn't know if you had injury frequency on 100, it'll produce so many injuries :x , well i'll have to play with out Boozer :D and without Deron    for a few weeks...

Well these fucking injuries are killing me and i can't sign anyone because everyone in the FA is rated over 59 and i can't sign anyone for minimum, so i'll have to do some .dbf editing....

Z Man: Of course he had the game, he bought it from EB, I think.

Nice recaps Jugs. Too bad that AK47 is injured but he was amazing against the Warriors. 15-35 from the field, he was a ball hog. Nices pics too. Better luck next game. :)

Great start so far, this dynasty looks great. Maybe try starting Ostertag or Collins, so you can have another good scoring option off the bench. Keep it up!

Tutu Training Time

Due to the injury to Deron Williams, Robert Skrnjug assigned Tyronn Tutu to train CJ Miles for 2 weeks. They will work on Offensive and Defensive skills.

MAJOR NBA SIGNING SPREE

18 NBA Teams, including the Utah Jazz, went on a huge signing Free Agents spree today. Major names that got signed include Vladimir Radmanovic, Latrell Sprewell, Gary Payton, Dan Dickau and Luke Walton.

Here is the full list of signings:

Atlanta - PF: Marcus Haislip
Boston - PG: Dan Dickau
Charlotte Bobcats - PF: Jerome Moiso
Chicago - SG: Keith Bogans
Cleveland - C: Predrag Drobnjak
Indiana Pacers - PG: Sarunas Jasikevcius
LA Clippers - SF: Luke Walton
Miami - PG: Gary "The Glove" Payton
Milwaukee - PF: Lonny Baxter
New Jersey - Robert "Tractor" Traylor
Orlando - PF: Bo Outlaw
Philadelphia - PF: Lee Nailon
Phoenix - C: Andrew DeClerq
Portland - PF: Samaki Walker
Sacramento - C: Elden Campbell
Seattle - PF: Vladimir Radmanovic, SF: Ansu Sesay, PF: Reggie Evans
Washington - SG: Latrell Sprewell

And the Utah Jazz have signed veteran Small Forward Ron Mercer and Point Guard Lorinza Harrington onto the team. The team now has an 11 man line up with 3 players on the IR, Devin Brown returning in a few days.

Robert Skrnjug was happy landing Ron Mercer and Lorinza Harrington. Robert Skrnjug mentioned that they needed a tall PG to back up Deron but Lorinza will be playing in the starting 5 instead. Ron Mercer will bring depth to the 3 and 4 positions and also a veteran leadership.

Tomorow, the Utah Jazz will be playing against the Phoenix Suns and they have told Mercer and Harrington to fly there and spend the night there, or arrive in the morning, which would save them a bit of time going to Utah.

The reason there are so many signings is so that all the teams can have an IR replacement and none of the FA are asking for minimum contracts so i had to do some .dbf editing, but it's all good.

See you tomorow, Jugs.

Utah at home against Phoenix

The Jazz come home to host the Phoenix Suns.

Starting Line-Ups

Image

Key Match-Up

Andrei Kirilenko vs. Amare Stoudemire

Amare, the up and coming power man, will have to come against Kirilenko and his all around defensive ability.

1st Quarter

Both Amare Stoudemire and Andrei Kirilenko came out firing in this first quarter, both were showing they wanted to win this game. The Jazz were behind for most of the time but then Andrei Kirilenko made 2 blocks in two plays in a row to help give the Jazz the lead. The momentum and crowd were clearly with the Jazz as Kirilenko received a half standing ovation from the crowd when he went off for his rest as he was the man. Lorinza Harrington went up for the lay-up and Steve Nash jumped and hit him and Lorinza still made the basket and he also made the and 1. The Jazz managed to hold onto their lead as both teams began to make turnovers. The Jazz were excellent this quarter as they ended the quarter up 33 to 28.

2nd quarter

The Jazz continued to hold onto their lead strongly as they shut down all the Suns' players except Amare. Harrington hit another bumping shot but this time over Brian Grant. The Jazz were just playing exceptional basketball as the Phoenix Suns just had no answer for the Jazz' defence. The Jazz ended the quarter ahead 55 to 48.

Key Players At The Half

Steve Nash and Andrei Kirilenko

3rd quarter

Shawn Marion came out firing for the Suns but the Jazz still held onto their lead. There were no major problems for the Jazz except for Okur being in foul trouble but the team have at least 3 guys who can back him up so it was all good. The Jazz continue to have their lead while they were just resting players and playing quite slowly. It was a very relaxing quarter as the Jazz ended the period up 84-77.

4th quarter

Things began to be intense as Nash scored 4 points in a row but Andrei Kirilenko came back on and reassured that the Jazz are the ones who own the lead. The Suns kept attacking at the lead as Okur received his 5th personal. The lead was only 2 points and the Jazz had possession of the ball but Kirilenko missed the jumpshot and then Nash had the ball but Kirilenko came running back, stole the ball of Nash and went in to dunk it. Unluckily, the next play had to be a 3 point play for the Suns as the lead was cut down to 1 point. But, of course Andrei Kirilenko drained his 47th point of the match and the Suns turned the ball over once again and Harrington got fouled going up for the lay-up and he sinked both free throws. Then Amare Stoudemire scored the bucket then Okur turned the ball over and the Suns called a time out with 1:05 left in the game. Boris Diaw missed the lay-up then Giricek also missed the lay-up and it was out of bounds, Suns ball. Amare Stoudemire scored the basket at the other end and the Jazz called a time out. Andrei Kirilenko dunked it with 30 seconds left in the match and it was back to defence for them. Amare missed the post shot so the Suns decided to intentionally foul. Matt Harpring sunk both free throws and the game was pretty much over, the Jazz took this one 119-112.

Robert Skrnjug was glad with the win, he was pleased with the performances of Andrei Kirilenko, Lorinza Harrington and Kris Humphries who came off the bench. He announced Devin Brown might be a chance to play on Monday against the Charlotte Bobcats, he is not quite sure at the moment, they'll wait and see.

I hope you loved this game, Jugs.

The stats are just a tad unrealistic but it's all good, nice job on the win nonetheless.
Also a good thing you gave Harrington the starting PG spot immediately and he delivered too, I like those kind of stories. (Y)

Nestor Porter Scouting Report

Nestor Porter handed in his European scouting report today, and this is what he found:

Walter Audet: He's good at his speed but needs work on his stealing ability
Tarmo Kozlov: He has good stamina but is not a good offensive rebounder
Emmanuel Straka: He's got great hops but struggles to block shots
Ignatius Tallas: He can rebound the ball on defense but can't steal the ball well.
Demian Khabibulin: He's got great jumping abilities but hasn't got much strength.

Robert Skrnjug also asked Nestor Porter to scout their next opponent, the Charlotte Bobcats, and this is what he told me.

Image

Coach Jerry Sloan will take those comments, especially the Raymond Felton one, into consideration.

Robert Skrnjug also announced that Devin Brown will be playing against the Charlotte Bobcats but he will start on the bench.

Well I hope you can stay tuned for the next game, Jugs.
