Swingers plus Jugs take home the win

30/11/2004

Robert Skrnjug asked the coach if he could start on the bench as he did not want to risk any further injury. The coach let Okur start for his first game for the Hawks.

1st Half Recap

For some reason, Okur received two early fouls and this forced Collier to come into the game. The Hawks came out firing with 2 baskets until Al Harrington injured his leg. Luckily it was only a minor injury but Al Harrington wasn't going to be risked until needed. Robert Skrnjug came on and he put down 4 dunks and a lay-up in a row. The Pacers slowly made a comeback but the Hawks stayed strong ending the quarter up 27-20.

Okur started the second quarter on despite being on 2 fouls. Robert Skrnjug started the quarter by making an adjusted shot over Jeff Foster. The Pacers made a comeback scoring 8 points in a row to force the Hawks to call a time-out. The Hawks were holding strong as Okur scored his first basket in his new uniform. Josh Smith made 2 huge blocks on both O'Neal and Foster to save their lead. Josh Smith went for a drive, got hit and spun around and then lobbed it into the basket and got the and one. Then out of no where, Al Harrington decided he was fit and ready to jump onto the court again, so the Hawks put him back on. Josh Smith was catching on fire as he stole the ball and scored another basket. The Pacers started to rely on their outside shooting to try and get them back into the game but the Hawks still held an eight point lead. The Hawks ended the quarter up 51-44.

Key players At the Half
Ron Artest and Josh Smith

2nd Half Recap

The Pacers came out firing as they narrowed the gap down to 2 points. Then it was even but Marvin Willaims made two key blocks and Josh Smith dunked it at the other end. The Hawks made a run to extend their lead back to 7 points. The Pacers suddenly hit 2 3 pointers in a row but Josh Childress drained one as well. The Hawks began to dominate the game as they ended up ahead 87-71.

The 4th quarter was practically garbage time as the garbage players embarrassed the Pacers' starting line-up by holding onto their 10 point lead. The Hawks took this one 110-96

Player of the Game
Josh Smith
Josh Smith was every where today, he was making blocks, grabbing rebounds, scoring, stealing and passing it around well. Well done to Josh.

I wasn't playing well today, well I did score 26 points, but it wasn't consistent through all 4 quarters. Luckily Al, Smithy, Josh and JJ stepped up their game. Finally my back is healed but unluckily Al had to hurt himself. Hopefully Okur can contribute in the next game.

Injury Update

Robert Skrnjug has been cleared to play without any injury but not as much luck for Al Harrington as he sustained a broken toe and will be out for 2 weeks.

This is a major blow because Al Harrington is usually the inspirational player for this side. This will bring in Josh Childress into the starting line-up at the 4 and slide Josh Smith to the 2 spot.

Well I did start off the bench and I ran out of energy quick because of the back injury and the way i was playing. For probably 6 of those 18 minutes, i just wasn't there.... But the bad thing is my second best player Al Harrington got injured but Josh Smith showed he can step up when he has to so I think i'll go okay against the almighty Sonics

  Cos they are swingmen, and one point in the game i had Al,Josh, Marv, Childy and JJ on, so i put the title as swingers....

But you all knew what i meant :cheeky: :cheeky: :shhh: :hump:

Well so i don't seem like a spammer. I tend to update this dynasty on Friday, (maybe Saturday) Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and then i've got school holidays. So that's why it won't be as active for the next week and a half.... but this dynasty will keep on rolling through the 2 weeks I have of holidays, as I have nothing else better to do.

I used the Andrew sliders and ended up scoring 35 points a game with my backup power forward. Then I quit my dynasty and started a new one based on default sliders.

OKAY?

Haven't checked back here in a while it seems.

What I meant was, use those sliders and you'll beat everybody. Especially with a player like that in the low post.

But nice recaps there I better check back.

Yeah I've kinda noticed with the sliders that in every game i've played have resulted in the big guys getting like 40 points.... Do you know any other sliders perhaps? (not the default ones, they piss me off with stupid interceptions)

Skrnjug and Smith combine for 77 points as Hawks prevail

4/11/2004

This is Josh Childress' first game on the starting line-up due to the injury to Al Harrington. Seattle are week at the 5 spot but have a really strong back court. The Hawks will try and rely on Skrnjug in this game.

1st Half Recap

Josh Smith came out firing in this game with 6 of the Hawks first 10 points of the match. Josh Smith and the Hawks kept dominating the quarter but the Sonics managed to still hang on. Mehmet Okur once again got into foul trouble but the Hawks kept on improving their lead. The Hawks continued scoring but Rashard Lewis kept his team in the game. The Hawks only missed 6 shots in that quarter as they ended the quarter up 38-30.

Mehmet started the quarter on the court and once again got into foul trouble. The Hawks don't pay him to foul, that's what Handlogten is for  . The Hawks extended their lead to 12 then they started to turnover the ball and miss shots and foul the opposition and the Sonics reduced the deficit to 6. Things were going wrong for the Hawks as they used their first timeout of the game with 5 minutes left in the quarter, still having a 4 point lead but the momentum was in favour of the Sonics. The Hawks ended the quarter up by 7 points.

Key players At the Half
Josh Smith and Rashard Lewis
Josh Smith scored an amazing 22 points and 7 rebounds in the first half. Rashard Lewis had 19 points respectively.

2nd Half Recap

Josh Smith continued his dominance by scoring the first 4 points of the half but a Ray Allen 3 kept the Sonics in the game. Same thing was happening for the next few minutes, Hawks try to extend their lead but the Sonics' outside shooting kept them in the game. Ray Allen got his team to 5 points but the Hawks held strong and ended the quarter up 104-99. It was a high-scoring, high-percentage affair.

Marvin Williams got into foul trouble near the start of the quarter which wasn't good. The Sonics kept pressuring the Hawks defence as they kept cutting into the lead. The Sonics pressure was on for a long while then Joe Johnson hit a 4 point play which nearly shattered the Sonics. Suddenly Sonics made two steals and two baskets but Joe Johnson made a 3 pointer and which most likely ended the game. The Hawks took this game 143-131. Huge scoring affair.

Player of the Game
Josh Smith #5
44 points and 11 rebounds, Josh Smith was outstanding tonight.

Well I had another good game coming but Josh Smith was the star tonight. We were all shooting well but the Sonics kept their outsiding shooting great as well even though they shot around %50 and we shot around 75%. Well we have a 6 day break, hopefully we'll have a shootaround or something to pass the time.

Well, I did sort of a combination of default sliders and Andrew's sliders. I think I could post them on my dynasty thread at some point. The sliders are very tough and sometimes you get blocked ten times a game but the big guys usually get decent figures.
