looks good Matin! Just curious though, why did Ilgauskas only start 10/23 games?

Well, that's because he's really outranked 69 to 68 to Samuel Dalembert, and since I aquired them both after about 11 games, the used Dalembert, but I want to use Z...

New Orleans Game

Charlotte cruise to victory against New Orleans

ImageCharlotte 112ImageNew Orleans 98

This victory was never especially threatened, the Bobcats dominated the game from start to finish, playing some exellent basketball at both ends of the floor. Zudrunas Ilgauskas and Latrell Sprewell came out blazin' early in the game and gave the 'Cats an early first quarter lead, then everyone else in the starting lineup started to get it on too, and when Samuel Dalembert, Lorenzen Justice, Eddie Griffin and Greg Buckner all came in scoring well of the bench we got more and more confident. Ilgauskas had 10 points 5 rebounds and two blocks at halftime. But the game caught up with the Bobcats, overconfidence let the Hornets back in the game, and they made it close, they came within 2 but then Joe Johnson hit a couple of big threes. Late in the game the Hornets charged again, but a case of too little too late it should prove to be, so in desperation they started fouling, and Dwayne Wade sunk all of the free throws and sealed the win, DW who other then 6/8 from the line was pretty invisible. Latrell Sprewell put in another great game, shooting well, playing good D and playing unselfish basketball, and he shot 4/7 from 3point land. And Meka also had a huge double-double.

Latrell lit it up from beyond the arc

Thanks man. We're really rolling, a 4 game W streak right now, but I am a litte concerned about D.Wade still... he's not really performing, against the Hornets he scored most of his points from the charity stripe...

The Veteran Effect

Postby Mini ShaQ on Fri Aug 05, 2005 10:09 pm

ImageCharlotte Bobcats Exclusive: Veteran effect, interviews with Latrell and Zudrunas

Youth! Inexperience! Two word to sum up these Charlotte Bobcats. But there's two guys in particular that are suppose to change all that. We've talked to the two veterans in this squad; Latrell Sprewell and Zudrunas Ilgauskas.
ImageImage

Reporter: Hi guys. How are you?

Z and Spree: Just fine thanks

Reporter: So, Zudrunas, how are you liking the NC area and Charlotte?

Ilgauskas: I'm liking it very much, I've always enjoyed coming here playin' the Hornets(before) and the Bobcats, and to get to play with them and close out my career here means a lot to me.

Reporter: What did you think when New Orleans traded you along with Sammy Dalembert and Greg Buckner for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jason Kapono and Brendan Haywood?

Ilgauskas: I had only good thoughts about it, because I knew I could provide some professionalism and experience to these young guys. And there's lots of good guys in this team, we have unbelieavable chemistry.

Reporter: Thank you Zudrunas. Latrell, you signed with the Bobcats as a free agent three years ago now, what made you decide on Charlotte?

Sprewell: Well, I thought it was a great oppurtunity to leave my legacy on the league for the future.

Reporter: Care to elabourate?

Sprewell: Well, I felt there was incredible talent in the club, they just needed a leader to enhance that, and I'm at the point in my career where it's time to teach these young gunz the ropes.

Reporter: Since you signed with the Bobcats you've been personifying Charlotte basketball, what do you think about the progress the team has been making?

Sprewell: Yeah, it's been great. Every year we've evolved, with great signings and trades, Mr.Haso and Mr.Bickerstaff has really done a great job here. And our young guys are developing great, we've got a couple of new guys to, Dajuan(Wagner), Steven(Hunter) and Travis(Outlaw) who's back for his second term with us. They've all got alot to learn but I'm sure they will al make it and become key guys for us later on...

Reporter: Well then, don't you now with advancing age think it's time for a championship?

Sprewell: Oh yeah! But I'm sure that before I leave the league I've got one... or more(laughs).

Reporter: So when will you leave the league then?

Sprewell: When all the juices left my body(laughs)

Reporter: Same question to you Zudrunas

Ilgauskas: Well, I haven't really thought about that yet, I still think I got some years on me. But We'll see.

Reporter: Thanks guys, it's been great to catch up with you.

Spree: It was nothin' man

Zudrunas: Thank you for having us.

Sacramento Game

Postby Mini ShaQ on Mon Aug 08, 2005 12:49 am

Bobcats prevail in a close one, dethrowned Kings in the final seconds!

Image Charlotte 113 Image Sacramento 111

This was a tight and hardfought game. The kings started hot with Peja and Cuttino shooting the lights out and finished the game with 28, respectively 23 points. Sacramento jumped out to an early lead, but CHarlotte wasn't giving up. JJ and Meka both caught fire and put Charlotte right back in the ball game. Before the fourth quarter Charlotte had a 85-83 lead. the Kings went on a 8-0 run to take the lead 91-85. But then Charlotte sealed the win behind Dwayne Wade's 17 4:th quarter points. And with 20.4 seconds left the score was tied at 111, Wade let the clock tick down... and with 7.2 seconds left he crossed Bibby, pulled up at the top of the key and drained the jumper with 5.4 left on the clock. Brian Skinner flinged a halfcourt shot but missed and Charlotte could collect the win thanks to Dwayne Wade's incredible 4:th quarter. Spree had a slow game this time, but instead he helped with the playmaking, dishing out five assists, splitting the lead in assist with DW. Mike Bibby was a little out of tune with his scoring, but was great dishing the ball, 17 points and 8 assists for him. Z put in another solid performance. Neither bench had a very good day, the starters dominated the game.

Maybe this game turned things around for Dwayne?
