Post Game Quotes: Hawks vs. New Jersey Nets, Nov. 4, 2004
ImageATLANTA HAWKS FORWARD KEITH VAN HORN(31 pts, 5 rebs, 5 asts)
On first game as a Hawk...

"It was great going out there and playing with my new teammates. We had alot of chemistry out there tonight. I wasn't expecting to have such a big impact on my first game, but I was hot at one point and they kept giving me the ball. I like this ball club style of play, and hopefully we can continue doing what we are doing.

ImageNEW JERSEY NETS GUARD JASON KIDD(34 pts, 9 asts, 5 rebs)
On losing effort...

"We couldn't go out there and execute like we planned. We didn't get a stop on Van Horn and he just went off on us. We did stop Kobe by putting him in some foul trouble, but they are just too offensive powered for us to focus on one man. We lost this game together and we will improve and try to win our next game and get out of this losing streak."

Post Game Quotes: Hawks vs. Memphis Grizzlies, Nov. 7, 2004
ImageATLANTA HAWKS GUARD KOBE BRYANT(32 pts, 5 asts, 3 rebs)
On 6 game winning streak...

"We are just playing some of the best ball in the league right now. We are so deep on the roster, that nobody can just stop one person and win the game. They will have to shutdown the team completely if they want to beat us. It's all about being patient and not taking teams lightly. We have to go out and take care of business right from the start."

ImageATLANTA HAWKS CENTER RASHEED WALLACE(13 pts, 19 rebs, 4 blks)
On having Van Horn...

"He just gives us another big body in the front-court. We now are the best rebounding team in the league and with him being 6'10" playing at the small forward position, the front-line will take care of business. He can also hurt you from the outside."

ImageMEMPHIS GRIZZLIES GUARD JASON WILLIAMS(24 pts, 5 asts)
On getting to the playoffs...

"We have a very good chance of making this year. We are a very deep team, and hopefully we can go out and finish games with a W. We shouldn't have any bad games like we had tonight. We will have some bad games, but now is the time to re-group and start making a push for the playoffs."

Hawks Had Very Little Rust

By Arthur Barclay

BOSTON-In the 1st quarter, it was all about Rasheed Wallace. He had 10 pts in the 1st quarter to go along with 3 rebs.

The Hawks weren't looking rusty at all, connection on just about every play. By halftime, the score was 54-29. Rasheed had 16 pts and 6 rebs. Terry also had 5 asts in the 1st half.

In the 3rd quarter the Hawks scored 19 pts, while Boston only scored 16. Kobe came in and did a great job on Pierce from the 1st half and part of the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th quarter, it was garbage time. It was a pretty low scoring game for the Hawks as they won 98-78. Kobe finished with 25 pts, 5 rebs and 2 ats. Rasheed who had 16 pts in the 1st half, was very limitied in the rest of the game finishing with 20 pts and 10 rebs. Keith Van Horn had his first bad shootiner performance as a Hawk. He managed to get 16 pts and 8 rebs on 6-15 shooting. Jason Terry had a great game, almost getting a triple double with 11 pts, 11 asts and 7 rebs.

Boozer put in another dirt performance with 10 pts and 12 rebs. The Hawks bench didn't produce that much. They we're outscored by the Celtics bench 17-16.

Paul Pierce had 24 pts in the game, while most of it came from the 4th quarter. Lafrentz had 13 pts, 7 rebs and 2 blks. Ricky Davis came off the bench and scored 11 pts. Ricky was basically the only one off the bench doing anything. Walter McCarty had a season-high with 15 rebs in the game.

Lindsey Hunter did not start, or play in this game. He made a game-time decision, because he was hurt last game with back spasms.

Post Game Quotes: Hawks vs. Boston Celtics, Nov. 9, 2004
ImageATLANTA HAWKS GUARD JASON TERRY(11 pts, 11 asts, 7 rebs)
On team chemistry...

"We are playing the best basketball in the league right now, and I dont care what anyone thinks. Our team chemistry has been great from day 1 in training camp. Keith Van Horn has fit well into our system just like that(snaps his fingers). We will be a serious championship contender this year."

ImageBOSTON CELTICS FORWARD WALTER McCARTY(7 pts, 15 rebs)
On getting to playoffs...

"Well we can't have a game like we had tonight. We have to go out every game and put on a good performance from all areas of the floor. Either it can be scoring, rebounding or defense, we need to do it. If we can't do these things, it's a very less chance of us making the playoffs."

I have found the answer on having low scoring games. So be looking for more realistic scores from now on. I have been busy as of late, thats why I havent been updating as much. I will finish the dynasty though, because I have came to far with the off-seaosn and trades to quit. Keep a look out on my next games. :)

Not scoring so quickly. Just waste some of the clock and dont have so many fastbreaks. I also put speed on 45.

The Hawks then used their last timeout in the game. THey gave the ball to Miles at midcourt, and he took it in for the lay-up. The score was 113-113. There was 8.6 seconds left and the Jazz had possession. The Hawks pressured the ball, but called another foul on Boozer and sent Sura to the line again! Sura hit both FT's and the Hawks had to advance the ball full court. Miles got the ball back. He ran off a pick and shot the 14 fotter and nailed it! It was 2.5 seconds left and the Hawks made sure they didn't foul nobody. Sura missed the full court shot to win the game. We we're going into overtime.

It was now 43.8 seconds and the Jazz we're force to foul. Terry hit both FT's that basically sealed the game. The Hawks we're up 125-117. Post Game Quotes: Hawks vs. Utah Jazz, Nov. 11, 2004
ImageATLANTA HAWKS GUARD KOBE BRYANT(32 pts, 5 asts, 3 rebs)
On 6 game winning streak...

"This game was officated pretty rough on our part. Even though we got the win, we had alot of ticky tack fouls called on us in this game. I shouldn't have never been fouled out in this game. Most of my fouls came from contesting jump shots by Bob Sura. I'm just happy to say we got the W."

ImageATLANTA HAWKS GUARD JASON TERRY(17 pts, 9 asts, 7 rebs, 5 stls)
On defensive effort...

"I really wanted us to win this game. I didn't want to go out and lose to the Jazz. We had to make some kind of stop on Brackett and I just put the best D on him that I had. On the first steal, I was so hyped up. On the 2nd steal, I knew we we're going to win, because that sealed the game for us. We can't have any down falls like this against teams that we should beat easily."

ImageATLANTA HAWKS FORWARD DARIUS MILES(18 pts, 6 blks)
On taking over the game...

"I wasn't even expecting to have this big of an impact when I got in. After they gave me the ball, I knew I had to do something with it. When I figured that they couldn't stop me on a few possessions, I just took it right to them and tried my best to win the game for us."

Kobe Returns Home

By Arthur Barclay

LOS ANGELES-Kobe was back inside the Staples Center for the 1st time in his Hawks uniform. "I don't know what kind of introduction they will give me, but either way I will go out and help my team get the victory."

The Clippers come into the game holding a 4-6 record. The Clippers still have their same exact team as of last year. They are trying to keep their big 3 together (Brand, Maggette , Richardson). The big 3 are combining for 46 ppg. Maggette has had low numbers this season, only averaging 12.7ppg. Richardson is averaging 15.8ppg , while Brad is getting 17.6 ppg.

The big surprise this year for the Clippers is 2nd year center, Chris Kaman. He leads the team in ppg with 17.8 in the 10 games they have played. He is also averaging 7.5 rpg. He will be a tough matchup against Wallace tonight.

Key Matchup
Rasheed Wallace vs. Chris Kaman

Kaman is coming into this game as one of the most improved players this year. He only averaged 9.7 ppg and 6 rpg as a start last season for the Clippers. He made the All Rookie 2nd team last season. Rasheed Wallace is playing excellent basketball so far for the Hawks. He is playing with ease and isn't losing his temper. Kaman is averaging 17.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 1 bpg. Rasheed is averaging 15.3 ppg, 13 rpg and 2.6 bpg.

Post Game Quotes: Hawks vs. Los Angeles Clippers, Nov. 14, 2004

ImageATLANTA HAWKS GUARD KOBE BRYANT(29 pts, 4 rebs, 3 blks)
On returning to the Staples Center...

"Like I said at the beginning, all I cared about was getting the win for the team I play for now. I really loved the fans in Los Angeles and I just want to move on from where I am at now. For the fans that cheered for me, I thank you. I settled down some after I had a big 1st quarter, because I didn't want to hurt the crowd to bad. I let my teammates do the talking."

On Kobe quotes...

"Well i have nothing to say about what Kobe said. It's not like we're the Lakers anyway. He will probably really try to go off on them whenever they play at the Staples Center. All I have to say is, our team sucked tonight. No more comments!"
